GREAT NEWS....now you take the FREE shuttle (stop is across the street), right to the base of Gore or the newly improved Ski bowl (Weekends and Holidays 8am-4:30pm).
Location, Location, Location! You cant beat it! The PERFECT Apres' Ski destination. Right in the heart of the greatly improved village of North Creek. This quaint Victorian cottage is just steps away from the ever popular Cafe' Sarah on Main Street, as well as the brand new Bar Vino Wine Bar, restaurants and shopping, all are just a very short walk from our home (Save on GAS). Just around the corner, is the newly developed ski bowl, which includes a snow tubing park and night skiing. This is also the area that now connects with the historic Burnt Ridge ski area and the rest of Gore Mountain.
Other close by attractions: In addition to downhill skiing, cross country trails are close by, or a short drive to many miles of trails at Garnet Lake. North Creek is also home to the Saratoga North Creek Railroad, which offers scenic train rides along the majestic Hudson River all the way to Saratoga, all season long. Don't miss the ' Polar Express' show on the train this winter. What an incredible ride during any season. The village is also home to many white water rafting companies, hiking trails, kayaking and the Barton Garnet Mines. Don't miss the train museum at the depot!
The House: This Queen Ann Cottage features three bedrooms, one has two full size beds and a TV, one has a queen size bed, a full size bed and a TV, and the other has a full size bed, all are on the second floor. There are also two full baths, one of which has a whirlpool tub. There is a fully equipped kitchen that is open to the dinning room, a living room with cable TV and and Apple TV. There is also a laundry/mud room for all your gear, and a beautiful wrap around porch with chairs to enjoy the view of Main Street and the mountains. If you like architecture, this house has plenty of details to enjoy, from the quarter sawn oak staircase with oak paneled walls, to the stained glass windows or the beautiful inlaid parquet floors and the antique coal burning fireplace (please burn wood only).
We look forward to having you!

Broker/Owner of Garnet Realty
Rich Smith Property Manager purchased this cottage in 2004
I would give this property 3.5 stars. It was a wonderful location, and sufficient for our needs. the owner was very prompt with responses to questions prior to our stay which was appreciated.
A few problems:
it was not as well stocked other places we have stayed
Not enough dish towels (and because there were no paper towels, this was more noticeable),
no coffee grinder
two of the four burners of the stove were not working.
We could not get the whirlpool tub to hold water (but I will fully admit that it may have been user error! there were no instructions, and we may not have been using it correctly)
Heat and hot water both were a bit fussy.
The living room was very comfortable, with nice furniture and space for our group of 7. Would have been nice to have seating near the fire, but old houses have small room sizes, so what can you do?
Our biggest problem was that the bedrooms are not as described. The current configuration is:
2 rooms with two double (maybe queen in one??) beds
1 room with bunk beds.
This did not work for our group of 7, and meant that one of our daughters had to sleep on a blow up air mattress on the floor. It was fine, but had we known, we would have chosen a home that was more appropriately set-up for our group.
Again, no big problems, no deal breakers, and if you are going to ski, the proximity to Gore is a real selling point, as was proximity to the Tops grocery store, Bar Vino and the coffee shop right across the street. Simply put, it was fine, but no "wow factor". A smaller group could easily stay here, but this isn't a good property for two families because of the current bedroom situation.
The house was as described. My friend and I had a great stay. The fireplace, old architecture and various memorabilia make the place interesting and unique.
Everything was in working order and no one had any complaints about the beds.
I would note to any one considering the house that the finish of interior, particularly in the bathrooms is a bit rough. Nothing that bothered us, and nothing we could complain about given rental price.
All in all we were more than pleased with the property and would stay again.
We recently rented this home for a ski trip with friends to Gore mountain. The location is perfect, close to many delicious restaurants (we went to Bar Vino Twice), fun bars (recommend Laura's), the grocery and liquor store! There was even a shuttle to gore mountain across the street, and parking right in front of the house. The house is very nice, warm, and cozy, as well. It came with internet and an apple TV. It was perfect for our group of 7 people. Would definitely love to go back and stay here again!
Cozy ski house with all amenities needed to feel like home. Kitchen has limited counter space so know that if you are planning on trying to cook big meals. Lots of seating space with dinning area and living room. Great spot for family games at night. Fireplace available, although we didn't use it during our stay. In the village, convenient to food shopping, liquor store, and many restaurants (all walking distance away). Coffee shop across the street was a great place to start the day. Shuttle to Gore was also a great convenience even though we didn't get to use it. Property manger /owner was extremely responsive and easy to work with. Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite the weather not cooperating with us - - no snow :(
The Ski Village Victorian has lots of great character and was a great option for our long weekend getaway. The fireplace was very enjoyable and beds were very comfortable, enhanced by the flannel sheets provided. The kitchen is well equipped and we also took advantage of the in-house washer and dryer. Thanks to Rich for his responsive and customer service. We enjoyed going to Basil and Wick's restaurant , so would recommend that to anyone staying in the area.
Had a blast with my wife and two boys staying here and skiing Gore.
Warm with lots of room and right in town a mile from the mountain.
Hot coffee across the street each morning at 7am and Tapas and Wine
steps away each evening. Awesome!
Other Activities: cross country skiing, tubing park
