GREAT NEWS....now you take the FREE shuttle (stop is across the street), right to the base of Gore or the newly improved Ski bowl (Weekends and Holidays 8am-4:30pm).

Location, Location, Location! You cant beat it! The PERFECT Apres' Ski destination. Right in the heart of the greatly improved village of North Creek. This quaint Victorian cottage is just steps away from the ever popular Cafe' Sarah on Main Street, as well as the brand new Bar Vino Wine Bar, restaurants and shopping, all are just a very short walk from our home (Save on GAS). Just around the corner, is the newly developed ski bowl, which includes night skiing. This is also the area that now connects with the historic Burnt Ridge ski area and the rest of Gore Mountain.

Other close by attractions: In addition to downhill skiing, cross country trails are close by, or a short drive to many miles of trails at Garnet Lake. North Creek is also home to the Saratoga North Creek Railroad, which offers scenic train rides along the majestic Hudson River all the way to Saratoga, all season long. Don't miss the ' Polar Express' show on the train this winter. What an incredible ride during any season. The village is also home to many white water rafting companies, hiking trails, kayaking and the Barton Garnet Mines. Don't miss the train museum at the depot!

The House: This Queen Ann Cottage features three bedrooms, one has two full size beds and a TV, one has a queen size bed, a full size bed and a TV, and the other has a full size bed, all are on the second floor. There are also two full baths, one of which has a whirlpool tub. There is a fully equipped kitchen that is open to the dinning room, a living room with cable TV and and Apple TV. There is also a laundry/mud room for all your gear, and a beautiful wrap around porch with chairs to enjoy the view of Main Street and the mountains. If you like architecture, this house has plenty of details to enjoy, from the quarter sawn oak staircase with oak paneled walls, to the stained glass windows or the beautiful inlaid parquet floors and the antique coal burning fireplace (please burn wood only).

Great location, great house!

We decided last minute to head to Gore for the weekend with friends. This house was perfect, great location, very clean and owner is very accommodating. We brought our dogs and they settled right in! House has lots of extra blankets & pillows, no need to bring extras! Great house for 2 families with lots of room for kids! Thank you for a great stay!

Perfect

This was the second time we stayed here. The house is perfect - close to Gore and right in the middle of town. Rich is nice and easy to work with. Can't wait to return.

Worst ski rental of my life! I give it no stars! Site won't allow!

I have taken ski vacations with my family all the years my four children were in school during February Break, which is over twenty years. Many times we have skied Gore Mtn and had a wonderful time. This time the accommodation was the worst. The house was filthy. There were pills of junk and debris on the front porch, side porch, front entrance and inside the house itself.

The most disturbing was the gas and electrical problems. The gas stove had knobs that were broken so you did not know it the valve was on or off. They had been put on with putty or some kind of paste which was not holding. I was very concerned about the gas leaking so I would not use those valses. As for the electric, there was an array of extension cords used to bring electric to the back bedroom. These were cheap extension cords lined through the hall leading to the bedroom with the bunk beds. There were also extension cords on the front porch, the orange ones wrapped together with duck tape using multiple cords. This is not proper electric usage.

In addition, the entrance was a very steep set of steps which were the only way into the house available to us because all the other entrances were blocked, which meant all our equipment and bags had to be carried up those steps which were cracked, crooked, and uneven. They also had ice and snow on some parts of the way. There was also no notice that there was not proper parking for us to use and there was limited regulated parking. The front of the house was piled with snow. It was very difficult, the owned should have notified us before hand regarding where we should park and the difficult parking situation.

I don't understand how the community of North Creek, New York allows this dangerous house to be rented to the public.

North Creek community is so enjoyable. We had such a pleasant time walking thru the town visiting all the shops. One in particular was the Hudson River Trading Company which was a wonderful experience we enjoyed completely. The staff and owner were so pleasant and helpful. It reminded me how much we enjoy the community.

Again we very much enjoy North Creek and Gore mountain, but accommodations like this particular house should not be allowed.

Owner's Response: Please read the rest of my reviews to get a true picture. These folks are upset because of a minor withholding made to their security deposit I'll explain why. As clearly stated on our listing, we accept dogs under certain circumstances. These folks decided to bring their dog without notifying me skipping the pet fee in addition to that their dog pooped all over the yard and they made no attempt to clean it up. Not only did I allow them to check in several hours early I even let them check out an hour late even though I had guests coming later that day. They left the house a complete mess. They were not ready to leave when I showed up an hour later than normal. That's how I discovered they had a dog. When I met them that afternoon they also carried on about how much they enjoyed the house and their stay etc. Not a single complaint other than the broken knob on the stove. Still working on that I can't find the right knob. Of course they're entire demeanor changed when I question them about the dog, this was a couple days later after they left. He believed his dog was small and clean so he didn't think he had to notify me about it nor did he feel he should have to pay for it. When I asked him why he didn't clean up after his dog he denied it and said that they were cats in the area they must have done it. If anybody knows anything about cats they don't poop in the middle of the sidewalk out in the open they hide it. He had one excuse after another and was Furious that I would dare to charge him for his dog and to clean up the dog mess. As you know when you rent a house you usually leave it the way you found it, minus the laundry floor care and bathroom clean up obviously. that was particularly important as I explained to him because I had people coming that afternoon and I also gave him extra time to check out. They left the place filthy,he was upset that he even had to do his own dishes. These are not people you want in your house.

Very accomodating for our last minute travels.

My husband and I decided to take a trip to Gore Mountain last minute because of a snow storm that was heading that way. Rich responded within 15 minutes of us putting in a request on VRBO. The home has beutiful Victorian character and is located in a quaint Village only 7 minutes from Gore. We were very impressed with our stay and want to thank Rich for allowing us to come with only 24 hours notice. He also drove all the way to the home to make sure it was shoveled for our arrival. We will definately be back and will return with the dog again! :)

Cozy Stay

We spent a very enjoyable weekend in North Creek over January 20-23. The house is very cozy but roomy for four adults. It is well-provisioned and Rich is very responsive as a manager. Being located on Main Street, there are a number of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance including a bakery and sandwich shop across the street. It is also easy to get to Gore Mountain on weekends since the shuttle stop is right next to the bakery.

Good, functional house. Great Location.

The house is cute, functional and clean, although dated. The location is great, walking distance to restaurants, grocery shopping, etc. Best of all, it's only 5 minute drive to Gore Mountain with access to shuttle if you do not want to drive. The owner/manager is very helpful.
