Asheville Area House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Peace, relaxation, solitude, luxury, with only the breeze or the cry of a soaring hawk to break the silence.....all surrounded by a 100-acre nature preserve with turkeys, bob cats, deer, and even an occasional bear. Just seven miles from the center of eclectic and historic Asheville, North Carolina, and close to a host of Western North Carolina attractions and activities. A uniquely constructed home that seamlessly blends with its mountain environment, the home features a 22-foot-high cathedral ceiling, two large stone fireplaces (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom), and includes all the usual amenities plus a 6-person hot tub on the terrace, broadband Internet, a CD/Tape/Radio sound system throughout the house and unlimited U.S. long distance calling. Completely furnished, it will comfortably accommodate 8 people.

The oversized master bedroom on the first floor has a king bed, 32” flat screen TV, reclining chair and stone fireplace. The master bath features a sunken tub, a separate porcelain tile shower and two sinks. The second bedroom features a queen bed. The second bathroom has a shower and a single sink. The third bedroom is furnished with two twin beds and is in the open loft overlooking the living room. The living room has a 37” flat screen TV, DVD, stone wood burning fireplace and sleeper sofa. Several sliding glass doors allow easy access to the deck. The master and second bedroom has long range mountain views. All linens and towels provided.

The home is split into three levels you will be renting the upper two levels which consist of the main floor, plus the loft for a total of 2600 sq ft. The lower basement level will not be occupied during your visit, however, THERE IS AN OFFICE WITH AN OUTSIDE ENTRANCE THAT MAY BE USED BY CCMC PERSONNEL. The 1200 sq ft of outside decking and 400 sq ft of terrace offers privacy for the perfect place to relax (and while no smoking is allowed inside, smoking is permitted on the deck). With the gas grill, it’s also the perfect place to cook and dine. Or enjoy preparing gourmet meals in the fully equipped kitchen as you enjoy the mountain vistas. The kitchen includes full size appliances, including refrigerator with ice/water in the door, electric stove with self cleaning oven, dishwasher, and microwave. You’ll find sharp knives, multitude of pots, pans and bake dishes, pizza pans, hand mixer, toaster, blender, and coffee grinder and maker. There’s also a full-size washer and dryer for your convenience.

Lush, green and serene, the home is remarkably close to historic Asheville, with abundant shopping, dining, arts, and entertainment. Just 9 miles away is the world famous Biltmore House. Also visit the world famous Grove Park Inn & Spa less than 6 miles away, walk around Beaver Lake or Lake Louise, or picnic alongside the French Broad River only a 2 mile drive. Cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway, just 9 miles away.

Other area attractions and activities include: the quaint town of Weaverville, the 435-acre North Carolina Arboretum, the Pisgah National Forest (mountain biking, swimming, hiking), horseback riding, balloon rides, skiing at Wolf Laurel (19 miles), relaxing at the historic Hot Springs Spa (30 miles), Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, Chimney Rock Park, Grandfather Mountain, the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, and, of course, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

But then you may find you’d just rather stay home and sit on the deck with a good book.

Must be over 25 years old to rent this property.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderfull trip to Asheville over the New Years. The house was perfect for our family. Lots of open space, and the large well furnished kitchen made for easy meal preps. We enjoyed the breakfast bar in the kitchen which allowed for plenty of meal prep "oversight" by our 'Crew". The spacious living room had a phenomial view of the surronding area. We had nice relaxing fire in the large stone fireplace each evening. The Master Bedroom and Master Bath are HUGE. The house can easliy accomidate 7 or 8, depending on sleeping arrangements and no one will feel cramped. Booking process was painless. Comms with John and Maria prior to our visit ensured that all our questions were addressed, and we were well informed on check in process, and what to expect at the house. This was my first Airbnb experience, it surely will not be my last!

Great Place

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Just a short distance from downtown Asheville, the house has a spacious living room, two full bedooms, including a large master-bedroom, and extra upstairs sleeping space, and two full bathrooms. The house was clean and well-equipped, including a hot tub. Also has two decks with beautiful view of Blue Ridge Mountains from the upper deck. Some of the outdoor furniture needs to be replaced but otherwise no complaints.

GREAT MOUNTAIN HOME TO VACATE!!!!!

  • 4 of 5

It SCREAMS mountainous views and a lovely place!!!! It had plenty of room for the 8 of us! Close enough to downtown but far enough away to enjoy the beautiful mountains! The only bad thing that happen was a breaker was tripped and the hot tub was only available the first night we were there ...and a hot tub was a MUST amenity for us. :( When we called they had someone come check it, so maybe that needs to be checked to make sure it cant happen. I am recommending it to some other friends that will be vacating there this summer! We will definitely rent from them again!!!

We spent the ENTIRE day on Friday at the GROVE PARK Omni......AMAZING!!!!!!! We ate at The Marketplace, Wicked Weed, Twisted Laurel and Bier Garden.....all WONDERFUL!

AMAZING TIME!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place was amazing from the start. The view from the back porch in the morning looking over the French Broad while drinking coffee and listening to the wild animals (turkeys gobble) was nothing short of perfect. Everything in the house was as promised and was in great condition (clean and tidy). The rooms were large as well as the bathroooms and living area. When I had a question or there was a problem (no real problems) they were immediately fixed and/or received a quick response. Can't wait to visit again and will definitely stay at this beautiful home.

Relaxing mountain views

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five enjoyed this spacious relaxing home for 3days. It had plenty of room and was spotless. We loved how close to downtown Asheville this house was. The view was serene at all times of the day but especially sunrise and sunset. We hiked the Craggy Gardens trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway and also went to the NC Arboretum. We enjoyed the enormous fireplace at the end of the day. We enjoyed meals at Tupelo Honey, Wicked Weed and Walk -- all were excellent. We also cooked in at the well equipped kitchen. All in all a successful family trip.

The house was perfect. Very clean when we got their and the view of the mountains was breathtaking. The only thing that could have been better was better directions on getting to the place. Would go again!!!!!

This is a very beautiful and relaxing property. The home was well appointed and the fireplace was spectacular. I had no issues with the home itself. This is one of those times that I wish I could give one review for the home and one for the management company. Due to a computer glitch with home away I was unable to access my rental info the day before we left or the day of check in. The home was no longer listed on the site. I left several messages that were not returned until I was well on my way. I left with a back up plan just in case. We checked in on a Tuesday and all was fine with the home itself. Friday morning we woke up to no water. There had been record low temperatures in Asheville overnight and pipes were frozen all over Asheville. This was not the fault of the homeowner. I called and texted my emergency contact that morning around 10:00. I also called the rental office number. We waited for a response to see if it would be repaired. I did not get a response until after 2:00 pm. Since neither of us could shower or flush a toilet, by that time we had packed and checked in at the Inn at Biltmore. I told him this and his response was just that the water lines were frozen due to records lows. I know that you can not help the weather but a sorry for your inconvenience would have been nice especially as we had to leave and pay for additional accommodations. We could not stay in a home with no running water. I probably will not rent this home again due to the unprofessional management of the property. I wish I could have given the home a five.

Owner's Response: We are glad this guest enjoyed the Long Range Mountain View home. The fireplace is definitely spectacular on cold winter evenings. This is a disappointing review. As the guest mentioned, VRBO experienced a glitch and this listing wasn’t live for two days. Once this issue was realized, VRBO was contacted, the listing made live again and the guest was contacted. As a backup, the details of the reservation can always be found on previous correspondence. As the guest also mentioned, Asheville experienced record low temperatures, causing the pipes in the home to freeze. Our lease agreement states that emergency maintenance issues will be dealt with within 24 hours. This issue was resolved within 7 hours, the pipes defrosted and the water started working in the afternoon. I’m not sure what number the guest was calling but it wasn’t the emergency contact number as there was no record of missed calls or texts on this number. In an era where we expect instant everything, it’s really not all that surprising that people expect a frozen pipe to defrost instantly – it’s just not based in reality. Given a little time and patience this would not have been an issue. I hope the refund this guest received for the night she did not stay in the home adequately expressed our apology for her inconvenience.

Map

Car: necessary

The Long Range Mountain View home is located 7 miles from downtown Asheville with easy access to I26 and Merrimon Avenue and only 5 miles to the quaint town of Weaverville. Weaverville has a lovely assortment of restaurants, cafe's, live music, nature walks, Lake Louise and an eclectic artistic scene. The road to the house is part paved and part compact gravel and has a mild incline - a beautiful drive year round, but especially in the fall. A grocery store, pharmacy, Pizza Hut and restaurants are only minutes from the house. There's plenty of parking for four cars.
