This is a very unique loft style property featuring 15 foot high ceilings, skylights, a large mezzanine bedroom with beautiful wooden floors & oversize custom made wardrobe with its bright en-suite bathroom, the bedroom overlooks the living-room.
The nice modern American kitchen offers a breakfast bar and opens onto the living/dining room that leads to a lovely balcony with views to a wide quiet street with colorful 'bougainvillea'.
It is a gorgeous apartment which benefits from all the colonial charm: iron work & Calicanto walls (original stone wall from the 17th Century) all around the condo with a great homey feeling.
The condo is fitted with high end amenities, a phone with free local calls and also the use of a cell phone during your stay.
It is next to the famous “La Merced” Church which façade was transported stone by stone after the 1st city (Panama La Vieja) was destroyed…the building was actually the living quarters of the monks;-)
The condo is steps away from restaurants, bars & cafés, the famous Plaza Cathedral with the Museum of the canal & the up-coming Plaza Herrera which will soon host 2 boutique Hotels.
Casco Viejo (also known as Casco Antiguo) is an effervescent neighborhood with its beautiful restored colonial buildings, home to the President Palace, the French Embassy & a gorgeous promenade with awesome views to the city's skyline & the Amador Causeway (entrance of the Panama Canal).
It also offers fine dining & entertainment with the National Theatre, great outdoor cafés for a nice drink on one of the charming plazas...an enjoyment by itself!
Its perfect location between down-town & Amador, a 5 to 10 Min’s taxi ride, makes it a conveniently central “pied-a-terre”!
For your convenience we also offer airport transfers & tours and can welcome you in 5 languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian and German.
Come and enjoy Panama by staying in this little gem:-)
Please note that it is not recommended for people with knee injuries as there is no elevator.
Looking forward welcoming you, Patty & Rudy
P.S. we also have a studio in the same building & a 1 bedroom condo in Amador by the Causeway (entrance of the Panama Canal).
P.S.2 Pictures were taken by Rudy...no staging...and he is no professional photographer so this is what you get...no tricks!!!
***Note: day guests are welcomed as long as they get registered...as this is a condominium...thank you for your understanding***

Besides this porperty we also own a studio in the same building, a 1 bedroom condo in Amador and a brand new mountain villa 50 Minutes from the city...a paradise for those of you who are seaking relaxation and recharging batteries!
Patty purchased this condo in 2010
We bought this property for us however since we have so much successs renting our studio located in the same building we decided to purspone until retirement time and in the mean time welcome guests to enjoy it;-)
We love the colonial neighborhood of Casco Viejo (UNESCO World Heritage) – it’s vibrant and has some of the best restaurants in town...not to mention that it is fascinating to wonder about in its little colonial streets admiring the buildings amazing architectures.
It’s the up-coming neighborhood of the city, it is centrally located between the banking district (2 min’s drive) and the Amador Causeway (5 min’s drive) and now is also walking distance to the new coastal belt where you can jog or just take a walk.
Lots of entertainments like the national Theatre and all the different venues: the Jazz and Music festival. You’ll find a variety of little shops with beautiful Panamanian handcrafts and every Sunday the flea market.
Casco Viejo is a great walking neighborhood home to the Presidential Palace, the Mayor’s Office (in our street) and the French Embassy.
It’s a perfect Holiday spot…and we have taken great care of making the loft as cozy as possible with high end amenities.
Great balcony with a view (not onto the neighboors!) and the very high ceilings with the original 'calicanto' walls!
This was our 4th summer in Panama and 2nd stay in this condo. For stays in Panama City this condo is a terrific choice. It's in a beautifully renovated building in Casco Viejo with grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and sightseeing all short walks. For trips downtown, we used Uber and never paid more than $2-$3 per ride. Parking is a shortage in this area so better off without a car if possible. Our family of 4 was perfectly comfortable for a week and would have loved to stay longer- it feels like home. Appliances, a/c, furnishings are upgraded. The owners Patty and Rudy are the best hosts. Will return!
My wife and I just spent four nights in Patty's loft casita in Casco Viejo, and we could not have asked for a better time or a more convivial place to use as a home base. The apartment was absolutely beautiful, decorated in exquisite taste. It has every amenity you could ask for, from a fully stocked kitchen, two baths, comfortable king size bed, a big screen TV, and a lovely balcony overlooking the street and the Mayor's office. There is a second bedroom available for larger parties.
Casco Viejo is the fascinating oldest part of Panama City and the loft offers a perfect base from which to walk and explore. The Mercado de Mariscos (fish market) is less than 15 minutes away and offers an amazing selection of fish and shellfish (fresh tuna - $3 a pound, shrimp - $4.50 a pound). Cups of ceviche to snack on are available everywhere in the market. The grocery store Rey is right around the corner and a large store is just 10 minutes away.
Rudy (Rudy's Tours) took us on a fascinating tour of the city and the canal and we had a great day. He had great tips on places to shop and restaurants to eat in. Right around the corner from the loft is the Tantalo Hotel. It has a rooftop bar that's a great place to have a drink and view the nightscape of Panama City.
Thanks, Rudy and Patty, for a terrific ending to our Panama vacation. Let me know if you ever want to sell the loft.
This was our 3rd visit to Panama and our 2nd time of staying in the loft. The location is perfect for walking to the restaurants, museum etc. We wanted to golf in Panama this year and Patty was wonderful in giving us information on a couple different golf courses. The loft is so inviting and comfortable and absolutely love the decorating that Patty and Rudy have done. Very relaxing and my husband in the two weeks there even read one of the books that Patty has for both bedrooms. Will definitely be back again!
Led Zeppelin may have got there first with this title (in 1971) but it well describes the Loft where we stayed for a week in Casca Viejo, Panama City. And the first line of the lyrics is uncannily relevant: "There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold. And she's buying a stairway to heaven." That lady is Patty. Right from our first enquiry for our Anniversary holiday, Patty was responsive to all our questions and advised us well on all aspects of our stay, including when we were let down by our next accommodation in Farallon. We cannot fault her, even though some may be a little wary of paying upfront by international bank transfer - the excellent reviews for her business reassured us that we had nothing to worry about. We had the top floor Loft accessed by several flights of long stairs. Even though one of us suffers a bad back, the stairs were manageable. Rudy was extremely helpful in taking our heavy suitcases up and down - he made it easy for us as we are getting on in years. Inside the one bedroom loft, we were impressed by the layout (two bathrooms, one en suite and one serving the living space and kitchen-diner), the decor including the lovely and huge replica clock from Kensington Station in London, and the amenities. In this last category, Patty gave us a mobile phone with local Sim to use to contact her if necessary, as well as free use for local calls on a landline. We were so pleased that the Loft is in the old town, now being lovingly restored to its former glory. The view from our balcony was so relaxing; and is a lovely place for breakfast. The sleeping area is on an upper mezzanine floor - you have to have a head for heights. We could go on. We thoroughly recommend Patty's Casitas, especially if, like us, you do not like modern hotels or even modern cities.
two couples, both in their "golden years", and loved this location. We first took a tour of the old city with Rudy, and then felt very comfortable walking about ourselves. Patty and Rudy gave us first class treatment, and suggestions for making the most of our stay.
My husband and I had planned to stay a week in Panama City, before exploring the rest of the country, and researched a lot before choosing Patty's Casitas.
The reviews, the photos, the location, and the apartment, were all true, and everything we had hoped for and more. Honestly, we were thrilled. The attention to detail, the cleanliness and convenience, and Patty herself.......all were wonderful. The apartment was fantastic. Very spacious, and way more preferable to a hotel room.
It was so nice to be able to make our own food when we felt like it. The kitchen has everything you need, with quality cookware and kitchen appliances.
Patty was also lovely, and extremely helpful making her self available if we had questions and needed ideas for prices, taxis, supermarkets etc.
The position of these casitas in Caso Veijo couldn't be better, in a quiet street, close to everything.
Thank you Patty, we hope we can stay there again.
