Relax to the sound of waves at this Beachfront Getaway as you get into the island atmosphere and settle in. Go out on the large deck with lounge chairs and foot rests. Listen to the waves and the rustling of leaves in the trees nearby. Maybe you'll even spot a humming bird.
There’s no doubt about it. Great Guana Cay is paradise. Gorgeous beaches, great people, good times. And Dolphin View Cottage will help you get the most out of your vacation.
In this charming one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage, you’re surrounded by island life — literally. A couple of mounted fish and fun local art dot the walls. In fact, a lot of thought has gone into the decorations in our little piece of paradise — we want every bit of your vacation to feel like vacation, from the moment you wake up. And a lot of that is in the details.
We offer high speed wireless Internet and Satellite Direct TV.
Dolphin View House is nestled with three more apartments in two houses — so if you’re coming with friends or family, it’s a great way to enjoy time together, but maintain privacy — on a large property. Relax in the outdoor seating area under a thatched umbrella, cook up delicious meals on the grill. There are plenty of shared spaces, but no shortage of private nooks and crannies for you to enjoy your time with that special someone, best friend or most cherished family members.
Walk down the sand dune and you’re on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas. Miles and miles of white beach. Build a sand castle, collect shells or sea glass and swim, snorkel and explore the reefs. Kick it up for a notch and catch a wave, or go for a run on the beach right at your doorstep.
Hungry? Thirsty? Walk the 300 feet to the famous Nipper's Beach Bar and Grill. Or, walk just about anywhere else in the settlement, too: Dolphin View House is incredibly central — just a three-minute walk to the settlement and less than a 10-minute walk to the grocery or liquor stores, or to the other bars and restaurants on the island. You’re so close to everything — but you’re so private! With a private road leading to the house, you’ll feel as though you’re the only people in the world when you’re at your home-away-from-home.
Since you’re close to just about everything, you really don’t need to rent a golf cart. But, if you choose to, the rental location is close. Or, consider renting bikes or kayaks to explore Guana Cay at a slower pace. You can even rent a boat for the day.
Fly into Marsh Harbour (MHH), take an eight-minute taxi ride to the ferry terminal and then a short 35-minute ferry ride to Great Guana Cay. Make sure you check the schedules before you book your flight — there are several ferries each day, but the times change seasonally (In high season, the last one leaves Marsh Harbour at 5:45 p.m.). When you arrive, we’ll pick you up from the ferry dock and help you get settled into your vacation home.
After that, how you enjoy our island is up to you: But whatever you do, we’re convinced you’ll love it here.

Beach is fabulous, people are so friendly, just remember if you come in on saturday the grocery store is closed on sunday so stock up in marsh harbor
This property has a great location on the beach and a very close walking distance to anywhere you'd want to go on the island. There is really no need for a golf cart rental. The apartment has nearly every necessity that a couple would need for their stay. We didn't use the kitchen at all as we chose to go out for our meals but from what we saw, the kitchen was well stocked. That being said, there was no broom in the unit to sweep up sand that inevitably is tracked in after a day at the beach.
A major downfall to this unit was the cockroaches that joined us every night. Every night when we went out we came back to a number of cockroaches all over the apartment. (No we did not leave the doors open, no we did not have food or garbage everywhere.) Each night after disposing of the critters that we could see, we would go to bed and could hear and see more as soon as the lights were off. The first night we came back from dinner to cockroaches in both of our suitcases. We also found 2 dead cockroaches in the living room/tv area that had clearly been dead for awhile. This was an absolute put-off for us. We have stayed in beach apartments/huts around the world, some of which were much cheaper and more rustic than this, and have never experienced a cockroach problem to this magnitude. This leads me to believe that some maintenance (we could see the bugs walking in through a gap in one of the patio doors) and a good cleaning is required at this property to get it back to rental state. The previous reviews are a couple of years old so perhaps this is a new problem since then...
We stayed at Dolphin View for a wonderful, relaxing 10 days. Right on the beach, next to Nippers, and minutes away from everything else. Guana is very small but the perfect island getaway to unplug. We'll be back!
With just two of us, the downstairs apartment was a perfect size for our weeklong vacation. The property has the perfect blend of privacy and community. Everything we wanted (bars, restaurants, general store, etc) was within walking distance. Most importantly, the beach and snorkeling is only yards away! We fell in love with the island almost immediately. The apartment itself is cozy, bright, and clean. Everything we needed for our couple's getaway.
The caretaker of the property, Unni, was outstanding. She went out of her way to help us settle into the island lifestyle and was always available with answers to our many questions. We could never have found such a personal touch at a big resort. It all just added up to a relaxing, care-free vacation.
We will be coming back for years!
I just loved my stay at Dolphin view, the cottage sat on about an acre with another cottage on the back of the property.Dolphin view is right on the beach on the Alantic side and you can hear the waves rolling in all night and it put's you to sleep like never before. The cottage has everything u need and the famous Nippers bar is right next door if you feel like socializing and dancing with the settlers or people from all over the world. Then there's my favorite, the Pirates Cove where Jerry will fix u the best meals on the island or offer u a cool drink. You hardly ever see anyone one the beach it's like u have it to urself. There is a barrier reef right off-shore from the cottage so u can do some amazing snorkeling. Everything is walking distance from the cottage, the general store, liqueor store and Grabbers. And if u want to browse the entire island u can rent a golf cart, that is the main transportation on Guana. If u want to get away from all the stress and want to relax or play the Dolphin view on Guana Cay is the place to be.

Great Guana Cay is approximately seven miles long with a spectacular beach on the ocean side that offers wonderful swimming, snorkeling and beach combing. There is excellent fishing on the reefs and offshore.
Guana Cay is where you come if you’re looking for peace and quiet. Walk the several miles long beach where you see only a few people, or snorkel, swim or scuba dive. You can rent a bicycle or a golf cart to get around, but you can walk everywhere from the cottage. Guana Cay has many restaurants and bars, souvenir stores, a grocery store, a liquor store, a drug store, and a brand new lunch restaurant next to the ferry dock.
