Okanagan Valley Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

Bungalow, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed,1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

I call my little house 'Sonora Sage' after the Sonora Desert which runs from the southern point of Mexico to it's northernmost point in the South Okanagan. Desert weather and vegetation makes the South Okanagan unique in Canada. Desert plants survive and thrive as the summers are hot and usually drier than anywhere else in Canada. Long summers mean that outdoor activities can be enjoyed to the max and all within minutes of our house. A huge and fantastic summer market is a short walk on Saturdays May to October. Penticton has miles of beautiful beaches, vineyards, orchards and Kettle Valley biking/hiking trails with awesome views of the lakes and mountains. Apex Mountain Resort is famous for it's blue skies and powder snow. Skiing, snowshoeing or outdoor skating are all within 20 minutes of the city. Or, if you just need some solo time to read, meditate or create your next novel you will find our little house the quiet retreat you are looking for.

About Bryn Muir

That's me!

Bryn Muir purchased this bungalow in 2000

Why Bryn Muir chose Okanagan Valley

Penticton is unique.. It is a small town with a lot to offer...clean air, a beautiful fresh water lake at each end of the city, and deserty. (is that a word?) !

Spring:.. great for walking, biking and hiking, ...Fall brings a huge harvest from the many growers of fresh produce as well as apples, pears and grapes are ready to be picked. The fall wine festival is tops, and crisper weather brings a promise of snow in the mountains for those waiting for their first days of skiing and snowshoeing. Penticton is a friendly and safe community featuring outdoor adventure as well as some great shops, galleries and restaurants. We also have an incredible community centre if you are looking for an exercise class or a swim in the cooler months.

Truly a home from home

We visited Sonora Sage in Penticton in order to confirm my initial view from the website. We were looking for somewhere to stay for 4 months of the winter 2015 / 16 whilst I study at the Okanagan College Penticton Campus. I sent an initial VRBO query to Bryn the owner and she quickly got back to me with confirmation that she did longer term rentals and her rates. I had a few more questions which again she responded to very quickly and then at my request she agreed that we could do a 2 night stay (her normal minimum stay is 4 nights) so that we could feel comfortable with booking the house for the longer period. We arrived at 8:00pm and as soon as we walked in the door we had a wonderful feeling about the place and immediately texted Bryn to say that we had arrived and definitely wanted to book the house for the winter. The next 2 night stay just confirmed our first thoughts. The house was beautifully decorated, cozy and complete in every way. We are now very much looking forward to going back in December for our 4 month stay.

A great little house!

Thanks for a wonderful stay in your cottage. Everything was beautifully appointed and we felt very welcome. We enjoyed walking to the beach and to the restaurants downtown, and spent lovely evenings in the peaceful garden out front. Thanks so much Bryn!

The perfect stay in Penticton

  • 5 of 5

This rental property is fantastic - so close to main street (and the market on Saturday), the beach and the Naramata Bench Wineries. We had the most lovely time during our stay at Sonora Sage and really appreciate everything Bryn did to make our stay wonderful.

If you are reading this review, don't hesitate in booking this wonderful house, you will not be disappointed.

See you next year, Bryn - we'll bring the happy hour treats!

Great place!

Great place to stay in Penticton. The house has everything you need, a great front courtyard and is walking distance to the beach, the main shopping and restaurant area. We went touring some of the vinyards nearby - really enjoyed our stay.

Mom and her Three Girls

  • 5 of 5

This was a weekend away for my three adult girls and myself. It was a perfect choice for us. Close to ... the KVR, downtown, restaurants, the beach, wineries. We biked a lot :over 80 km. on the KVR. Walked every where. And always there was this lovely home to come back to !!!

We had happy hour on the patio every day :- ) A reward for working hard.

Thank you Bryn

my 60th was awesome !!!
