What a beautiful setting!

  • 5 of 5

We feel very fortunate to ave found this little slice of heaven! Keala and Steve have done an amazing job of turning this cute cabin into a real winner. Nicely furnished with everything you might need

-- especially liked the dishes, artwork, orchids, the rocking chair and swing on the porch and a washer and dryer with detergent furnished!! The farm animals were an added bonus as were the cute dogs who like to visit. Would stay here again if we make it back to the Big Island!

wonderful, relaxing, beautiful and quiet environment

We loved this place! The cottage is located on the farm property with a verdant surrounding and a view of the ocean. Watch the sunrise over the ocean! The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for your stay. It is a beautiful little cottage. Nights were coolish which made for great sleeping. Be sure to take a hike on the property as there are fruit orchards, and a beautiful, private waterfall. Would certainly choose this place again. Close to Hilo, but away from noise and traffic. Only sounds are those of the animals.

Amazing! If you're in Hilo, stay here.

  • 5 of 5

Owners are great people and conscientious of their home and property. Cute cottage situated on top of the hill overlooking the ocean. Located on a farm with all the wonderful animals which was great for our family. Only negative is the property is impossible to find, especially after dark. Informed owners they need to put a sign or address on the main road, another half-way up the hill to their property and another where you turn to their gate. Otherwise, once you get there enjoy.

Cozy home in paradise

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in the guest cottage. The owners were very helpful, accommodating, and responsive from the beginning. The grounds are beautiful and pastoral - we woke up one morning to see a horse looking in our window! The little dogs are also a delight, and we enjoyed visiting with them when sitting on the lanai.

The cottage itself is clean, cozy, and well-appointed. It is also convenient to Hilo town, and to attractions such as the Volcano National Park, and to the lava viewing area in Kalapana.

We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the Big Island!

our stay at Pu'u Moi

  • 5 of 5

After our initial hurdle with not being able to reach the owners for directions. And VBRO coming through for us and finding lodging for the night we straightened everything out the following morning with the owner. Basically it came down to an email that got lost which had the directions and they were not home that day. Things happen when you travel and you just have to roll with it and hope that everything works out. And it did. The owners explained what happened on their end and went out of their way to make things right for me and my family. Our stay was fantastic. My daughter loved sleeping in the loft and petting the horses. And we loved the property, and the swim in the stream with the waterfall was one of our highlights of the trip. Would we stay again? Absolutely! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and going out of your way to make things right. You are great vacation rental owners. Mahalo!

Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This is a long overdue review. After a week in the Waikoloa resort area, we spent 3 nights at the cottage over New Year's. It was a beautiful rural setting and was our home base for exploring Hilo and VNP. It exceeded my expectations and we didn't want to leave. Concerned about how busy and loud it would be for NYE, we decided to stay in. The small dogs came and visited with us and our 4 year old son for a couple hours. What a treat at midnight when fireworks started going off close by. We sat and watched from the porch.

The only challenges were that we couldn't figure out how to work the VCR and the wifi wasn't great. But that's not why we were on vacation, so it wasn't a big deal. Probably the only regret is that we only hiked down to the waterfall once. It is beautiful and wish we had time to go again. Steve was a great host and we enjoyed our conversations in the hot tub on several evenings.

The abundance of animals was a real treat. Some mornings we would wake up and the horses were right outside our window in the pasture! An amazing setting! If we are back in the Hilo area we would definitely stay at the Pu'u Moi Cottage.
