We love this place!
This was our second stay (17 nights total) at the Zoll's cottage and we will keep coming back. The location, setting, view, cottage, animals and hosts - all what we want in a Big Island vacation. You're going to love the front porch and the view from it.
A lot of times when you look at pictures of a site, you wonder if it really looks like that. Well, with the Pu'u Moi Country Cottage, it turned out to be better than the pictures. The setting is wonderful with a view of horse pasture (and horses!) leading to the ocean. It is so quiet and peaceful, well, except for the bird call and insect concerts at night. And an occasional rooster crowing in the morning. Steve and Keala have really made a wonderful place to relax and let the cares of the world disappear. My husband enjoyed the orange tree right outside of the cottage and Steve delivered fresh-squeezed orange juice to us one morning. It was delicious! We visited the falls once, but didn't take a dip as we preferred the wonderful salt water pool with it's beautiful view of the ocean.
Stunning vacation hideaway, welcoming and friendly, the perfect relaxation getaway
This cottage is beautiful - every little touch is thought of. The beds are super comfortable and the architecture is lovely. And the surroundings! The waterfall just steps behind the cottage is National Park worthy. And the family are inviting and friendly. Super close to Hilo and attractions like the Royal Botanical Garden and Akaka Falls while hidden away from the tourist bustle. Wish we could stay a month or longer here!
A home away from home
This little green cottage on the hill served as our central point for our excursions on the east side of Hawaii.Every day we would venture out to see what this amazing part of the island had to offer and we were not disappointed.....from the Waipio valley and down the Hamakua coast to Volcanos National Park and the Hawaiian Botanical Gardens the scenery is endless and breathtaking. The cottage is quaint and quiet and the perfect place to come back to after a long day.Absolutely loved it!
This cottage was quaint, peaceful, well-equipped, and the views were stunning. Steve helped us navigate our way as we arrived in the dark, then greeted us the next day and was very pleasant. We were out and about during the day for most of our time here, and so my only regret was that we didn't spend more time sitting on the front porch swing. The cottage was an excellent choice for our 25th wedding anniversary trip.
Great spot on "Big Island"
Great relaxing place. Loved the grounds and animals (especially the dogs). The private waterfall was a pleasant surprise. Steve and Keala and family are great hosts.
Hope to return to this "slice of paradise" soon
