My family arrived on the 5th of July and stayed through the 12th. This is our third summer at Myrtle Beach and decided to stay at this place because of the location instead of the condos we usually stay at that are not beachfront (but cost the same amount of money).
The good: The view is gorgeous. Balcony is small but that is visible in the pictures, so we knew that. The beach in front of the condo was never crowded, but we think that is because three of the buildings right next to Atlantica 1 are being torn down and are empty.
The bad: We had to go get keys to get in to the building at the Atlantica that was 4 buildings down...it took them THREE tries and three aggravating trips to the other building before any of the pass keys actually worked. The third night there, a lady knocked on our door and said she was having pain and did we have any "good" meds we could give her. Suspicious. The next night, outside the main door some dude with a beer in his hand asked my husband if he had any money to give him for his son's breathing treatments.
The Ugly: When we finally arrived at the condo, after those three trips to get working keys to get in building, the first thing I noticed was a horrendous odor. Like b.o. Then upon inspection, this place is FILTHY!!!!!! Previous renters dirty socks in middle of 2nd bedroom, trash under beds and on floor in both bedrooms. NOT ONE light bulb in any of the lamps. Phones did not work. After one hour of walking on carpet, flip flops were put back on because the bottoms of our feet were black. I called down to Condolux, and 2 hours later, a man came and DROPPED OFF a bottle of windex and scrubbing bubbles....so my first night of vacation was spent cleaning. The handprints on balcony were so bad you could barely see out to the ocean. I had to go buy light bulbs myself for the lamps. The description of property said no washer and dryer but when i made my payment to condolux, they told me there was a laundry on site. There is not. I called second day and asked where the laundry room was and the lady was gonna tell me where the laundromat was, so i told her they had told me there was one in the building...so she was then going to send me down to an unoccupied unit in the Atlantica 4 building down the street to do my laundry. No thanks. So on Thursday, I had to call and ask them to please bring me down some clean towels to bathe...i shouldnt have to do that. Disappointing to say the least.
To start with, the condo looks nothing like the pictures. The walls were very dirty and marked up. The condo itself not very clean, bath towels in 2nd bath were all over the floor, smells like mildew in 2nd bedroom, no light switches work in either bedroom. Nothing was plugged in, not even a lamp.
No garbage bags, chairs on balcony are nasty, TVs in bedrooms are a joke, just very disappointing.
I emailed the owner and even went to the Management office and they did replace the chairs on the balcony and said someone would be in to fix the light switches in the bedrooms. No one ever showed up.
The view is fantastic tho....
