Why the Owner Chose Drake: We love this location because it borders Roosevelt National Forest, giving us abundant space, quiet and peaceful tranquility. It is conveniently located close to the beauty and majesty of Rocky Mountain National Park. Estes Park is a unique community we enjoy visiting all year round.
We come here to retreat: rest, rejuvenate, reconnect. Our children bring friends. Our family reunions happen here. Long weekends here are highly anticipated. The days are spectacular and we love to spend the quiet evenings reading, snoozing, visiting, playing games, working puzzles, Laughing! We hope you find this little spot in the mountains as special as we do.
Just wanted to let you know how nice of a stay we had and hope to make the
trip again. You are truly blessed to be able to routinely visit such a
Hope to visit again soon and completely agree everyone needs a laughing
We had a great time at the Laughing Place! spectacular views, great house, well stocked kitchen if you are the cooking type, different things for kids and adults to play with, etc. We will be back as soon as we can!!!!!
We enjoyed our stay at the Laughing Place. It is just as described online- cozy and kid friendly. We loved watching the deer in the yard at dawn and dusk. The outdoor games and hammock were huge hits and created a lot of fun memories. There is very limited cell coverage at the home. We were able to receive texts and send some messages intermittently. But it made us focus on family time and eliminated any discussions about too much screen time. Just know that you will lose coverage when you are about 10 miles away from the house in either direction. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. The one nice addition would be a new knife set :-)
The Laughing Place is a great getaway to enjoy the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Great location with travel close to Loveland or Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park. I have been to this cabin with a group retreat, family getaway, and a Husband & Wife weekend. Every visit has been wonderful and enjoy the location of this rental.
Not only is the Laughing Place a great value with plenty of room for 12 people, it is truly a place with mountains, rivers and tranquility. We spent a full week and loved every minute of it. We spent most of our time enjoying the property, rock climbing and hiking in the surrounding mountains. Estes Park is only 30 minutes away and is a great place to enjoy a good meal as well as many other activities.
You wont be disappointed in your Laughing Place stay.
The cabin is as promised in the description and I would recommend it to most anyone.
Wonderful place! Pretty, cozy, and clean. We met our cousins there for the week. We slept 4 adults, 9 kids, and 1 toddler and everyone had a bed and a bedroom! (Although we did use the second living room as a bedroom.) I think the fact that it was a residence made it even better. There were so many special touches (like beautiful log cabin style trim, little bears attached to the pull chains on the lights, and little sayings hung on the walls.) Also, they had a great collection for all ages of DVDs, puzzles, books, and games. Not to mention all the things you would need for a week--utensils, pots and pans, washer and dryer, towels, hand soap, extra blankets, etc. The view was amazing! And there's no cell phone or internet, which was great! The kids played games, hiked, built a fort, played( we brought some toys), watched movies, etc. And the adults read books, played games, & hiked. Everyone had to unplug! The only main drawback was the drive up the mountain, but I guess that's the price you pay for a beautiful view and quiet peacefulness.

Gone Fishing? Fishing was excellent in the North Fork and in the Big Thompson Rivers prior to the disastrous flooding in September of 2013. As soon as the rivers are re-established, the fish will return. There is lake fishing in Estes Park and the rivers and lakes of Rocky Mountain National Park
