About the property

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This La Paloma Blanca unit is a gorgeous beach front condominium located on the peaceful south end of Jaco Beach on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, located only 1 hour from the capital, San Jose and 90 minutes from the SJO international airport.

La Paloma Blanca offers tranquility and privacy, but is only a $2 taxi to Jaco center for restaurants, shopping and nightlife. This front ocean facing, rare 3 bedroom condo features a large terrace for relaxing and enjoying the ocean, sunsets, and mountains that surround us. Our well appointed, spacious rooms have amazing views with a large breezy balcony that runs the length of the condo on the second floor. Although the property has 4 pools, our 3 bedroom has its own semi private pool just beneath our balcony, with the ocean just steps beyond.

An outdoor covered Barbeque Rancho and cascading waterfalls in the landscaped pools are a favorite spot for afternoon and evening socializing. The asymmetric design of the buildings and pools allows ocean views from all angles, but our home sits in the best oceanfront position for views, serenity and breezes.

A short walk, bike or taxi ride away, Jaco Beach has modern grocery stores and dozens of great restaurants from Sushi to Steak, and most deliver to your door.

Boutiques and Surf shops line the surf town selling surf boards, bathing suits, local fashions and indigenous craft souvenirs of all types. Stop for a cold cerveza and ceviche at one of our seaside hangouts, or just enjoy the local scene with a Costa Rican cafe con leche. Nightlife in Jaco comes alive after 10pm, when the dance clubs fill with both locals and tourists.

The surrounding area provides something for everyone, from world class sport fishing, championship golf course, canopy zip-line, national parks and waterfalls. Our Concierges will assist you with your vacation ideas, whether you choose pure relaxation or adventure and nightlife. Airport Pick up, Personal Chefs, babysitters, in home massages and pre-arrival grocery stocking services can easily be arranged.

We live here year round, and are happy to provide suggestions as to what not to miss in paradise. Please let us know what questions you may have. Pura Vida.

Thanks Faith, you were right. This condo is beautiful. We had so much fun, and tried almost all the adventures you suggested. The boys surfed till they dropped, and Al and I tried every restaurant on the list. Our favorite was Villa Caletas , we made it for a spectacular sunset followed by a fierce lightning storm over the Pacific. Wild! Thanks so much for all your help. I am coming back to learn Spanish !

Pura Vida!

We had a wonderful stay at La Paloma Blanca. This was our first trip to Costa Rica, along with our three grown daughters. This property was clean, had plenty of room, and the view can't be beat! We did not rent a car. Dan Jenkins provided transportation to/from the airport. We relied on taxis while staying at the condo. Taxis are very inexpensive and easy to find. The guard at the property would call for a taxi, and it would arrive within five minutes. We never had a problem, even with 5 of us. Security is always visible on the the property- very safe location. And, yes the beach is just a step off the property!!

Beautiful view to wake up to daily.

  • 5 of 5

The property was excellent and well managed. The view from the balcony was worth every penny spent. Rental was well equipped from kitchen to baths and even had coffee for first morning. We rented a SUV for our stay and had some concerns for parking. We had to park outside the gated area a couple of nights but the security guard was very nice about allowing us to park near where he could watch. Overall, I would book this rental for my next trip to Jaco. Thanks for making our stay a 5 out of 5.

Beautiful condo and view

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks in February at Paloma Blanca unit J2, which is a modern, spacious, well equipped second story condo, and absolutely loved it. It has a large balcony with a spectacular view overlooking beautiful Jaco Beach, where we sat in rocking chairs, ate several meals, and watched incredible sunsets. The entrance to the condo complex is literally 15 feet from the beach. There are also 3 freshwater swimming pools of varying sizes on the property, all close by. The largest pool area includes a barbecue grill and table, in a covered area, for use by guests. Inside, the condo can comfortably accommodate 6 adults, with good sized bedrooms, large showers, and a spacious kitchen/living room area. We walked into town several times, approx. a mile away, or took a cab for about $3. A local farmers market, with lots of fresh fruits and veggies, is held on Fridays, a half mile away. Overall, we were very happy with this condo and hope to return. We want to thank Faith, our condo coordinator who answered so many of our questions by email prior to our commitment, and many thereafter cheerfully and in a timely manner. We thank Dan Jenkins who drove us the hour and a half from the Jan Jose airport, and took us on several excursions for very reasonable prices. Book him, he is a wealth of information and an all-around nice guy. You definitely can't go wrong with this rental or these people.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your very detailed description of what to expect at our condo. We are glad you took advice and let Dan do the driving! We have replaced all the linens and towels and had the condo and veranda painted after rainy season, so we know you were comfortable. Please come back next year, you guys are great guests, and always welcome in our home.

Great Location But!!

  • 2 of 5

Location is perfect for families on a safe, clean section of Jaco Beach. We found on arrival, the condo is absolutely bare of any essential condiments edible or drinkable. I would think anything considered 5 star could at least leave a bit of coffee or tea available for the first morning. Salt and pepper would not be out of place also.

The patio furniture is less than comfortable and really showing its age. The Master bedroom has no closet nor anywhere to hang anything. The bedding is pretty thin and old. The master bathroom had a lot of foul doors even after we bleached out the shower stall sinks and toilet. Not good value for the money.

Owner's Response: Hi Donalda , thank you for your comments. We are so sad you didn't enjoy our casual beachfront family condo over Christmas Week. Perhaps you did not read the description carefully, if you expected a 5 Star Resort for the price your paid! There is a a fabulous Four Seasons Resort in Guanacaste that you might enjoy with PEAK SEASON Christmas rates starting at $800 per night for one King bed. We have replaced all our linens yet again, as we do each year, as our guests with families and small children can be quite hard on the towels and sheets and they are constantly disappearing! We have asked the property management company to respond to your issues of the musty smell in the bathroom, a constant battle with our 100% humidity on the beach. As we discussed prior to your arrival, we have several modern grocery stores in town, and advise our guests that this is a " self catered" rental with no food or beverages provided, unless you make a request to have a personal shopper pre-stock groceries prior to your arrival. I am a morning coffee addict myself, and always make sure I plan ahead when I travel anywhere that does not have a restaurant on property. ( even staying with friends and family) The casual, laid back Costa Rican beachside vacation isn't for everyone, but you can definitely find more upscale hotels that would better suit your personal tastes and budget. Jaw Dropping

  • 5 of 5

Found this gem and took a "flyer" on it. What a treat. Stunning views from all common areas and the best sunsets in Jaco. It is also on the far south side of town so quiet at night. The interior was the equivalent of a five star hotel. Had a couple minor issues that required owner input and found them to be very responsive.

My only caution would be to not leave ANYTHING of value in a car and be careful when biking.

Owner's Response: Thanks Mike, I am so glad you loved our condo as much as we do. It is a great spot for the family vacation, at the quiet end of the beach. Let us know when you are planning to return, and we will have everything ready. Between the horses , bicycles and the crazy taxi drivers, our sleepy little surf town has become a modern resort which requires the same precautions as home when taking to the road. Glad you found us!

Paradise in Costa Rica

  • 5 of 5

We had two families with 4 teenagers spend the past week in Jaco, and I would go back in a heartbeat!! We stayed in two of the condos at La Paloma Blanca and they were great! They were very spacious, clean and the location could not have been better. Loved sitting out by the pool looking at the ocean and watching the beautiful sunsets and many surfers. Thank you Faith for all of your helpful information. We will be back!
