Boca Grande Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, beachfront condo right on the Gulf. The property faces west giving it all day sun and spectacular year round sunsets. Located on the ground floor, this unit provides quick and easy access to some of the best beaches in America offering great walking, shelling, swimming or simply relaxing and reading by the ocean.

This unit has been completely renovated and redesigned.

The condo has high speed Wi-Fi throughout, a wall mounted 40 inch Panasonic Plasma flatscreen TV w/DVD with full HD programming in the living area, a 26 inch Samsung flatscreen TV in the bedroom, central AC with an accessible thermostat for individualized comfort, fully tiled floors, a high profile king bed with multiple sets of high thread count 100% cotton sheets, a washer/dryer, ceiling fans in both the bedroom and lanai, light dimmers on almost every switch, and full length curtains with blackout along all the windows to provide total darkness in the early mornings if desired.

Inside and out this unit offers a spectacular way to relax on the edge of the ocean.

The property is part of the Boca Grande Club which is a gated, 62 acre private residential community on the Gulf side of Gasparilla island. Amenities offered include the more casual 'Upper Deck' restaurant, a more formal 'Clubhouse' restaurant at beach level, 3 pools with complimentary towel service, a 'Tiki Bar', poolside lunch and drink service, beach chaises and umbrellas around all of the pools and along the beaches, an expanded and very popular fitness facility, 8 clay tennis courts with 2 tennis pros 'in-season' offering organized drills and matches, a small retail tennis shop and a spacious Library/Quiet Room that has books, a TV, comfortable couches and a piano for those times when guests prefer a little 'out of the way' quiet time.

Programs offered include Yoga, Aquatics, Zumba, Bridge and Circuit Training. Bicycles and golf carts can both be rented which are excellent ways to explore the island.

Boca Grande (formally known as Gasparilla Island) is located off the southwest coast of Florida, north of Naples and south of Sarasota. It is part of the 'barrier chain' of islands that includes Sanibel and Captiva. Connected to mainland by a short, tolled ($6) causeway, what makes Boca Grande unique are it's miles of beaches and it's tranquil, relaxed, Old Florida feel: no highrises, no malls, no traffic lights, and no neon signs. Despite it's small size, the town on the island is charming with excellent shopping and several very good restaurants.

The unit, the Club, and the island offer privacy, relaxation and rejuvenation....a fantastic vacation get away.

Why The Owner chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

We live in a large North American city where dealing with traffic, stress and frustration is a part of daily life. Boca Grande is at the opposite end of the stress spectrum... the antidote to big city living. The ocean, the beaches, the people and even the vegetation promote relaxation and a refreshingly slow pace.

Prior to buying on Boca we'd looked and stayed at a number of Florida locations. We concluded that the east coast of Florida was much busier than we wanted, that Naples and Sarasota, despite their beauty, were too much like the city, and that Longboat Key and Sanibel and Captiva islands, while closer to what we were looking for, just seemed that much bigger and busier than what Boca Grande had to offer.

Boca is a very 'upscale' island, and though we really like it's 'Old Florida' feel (which we find very appealing) we really appreciate that the island has all of the conveniences of modern living including some great restaurants.

We're pretty active people and while Boca gives us the opportunity to run, go to the gym, play tennis, golf, fish or go boating, it also gives us the opportunity to spend hours at the beach walking, reading or simply lying in the sun.....which are all pretty nice alternatives.

What makes this condo unique

The first thing we do when we arrive in Boca and the last thing we do before we leave is to walk the beaches. Regarded as some the best beaches in America, they are truly spectacular.

The walk to the beach from our place takes about a minute. If we turn right when we get there, we can walk for about an hour until the beach 'runs out' at a private residence's boat dock. And if we turn left, it takes a couple of hours to effectively walk all the way to town. We've only ever done that once and the bottoms of our feet hurt for days.

Dolphins are a reasonably frequent occurrence on our beach walks and manatees, which are large, spectacular sea animals, can be seen just off the shoreline on very special occasions.

Boca is also known as the 'tarpon capital of the world'. Tarpon are reputedly one of the best sporting fish there are. Weighing in at 100-200 lbs they put up 'fights' that when caught are pretty thrilling. We're not 'fisher people' but we've arranged to do this several times over the years with some of the island captains and the experience has always been pretty exciting. It's all 'catch and release' so these magnificent creatures are thrown back just after being caught.

A recommended early winter getaway for quiet time

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I scheduled a three week trip away from Colorado to escape early winter and decided to visit old Florida which came together at Boca Grande - a nice combination of a nice resort setting on the Gulf beaches, fewer people, slower pace, great weather and good fishing. The owner was especially helpful in providing local details of restaurants, services and support which made the trip like the proverbial "old sweater". Just put it on in the morning, and be comfortable for the rest of the day. Every morning and afternoon were spent on walks along the beach prospecting for shells (we have shells!) and enjoying the ocean - one day we had a pod of dolphins feeding just yards of the beach, others just the waves. Every night was a spectacular sunset (free!). Local tortoises were frequent visitors but not many people except for the Thanksgiving dinner (where were they all hiding?).

We stayed in the one bedroom condo which was adequate even for several weeks because we spent most of our time on the beach, at the pool fishing, dining out or touring up and down the coast. Very secure resort and friendly staff at all times.

We will plan on returning next winter and would recommend property to a retired or self sufficient couple who want to read, doodle, relax or for small family with independent kids (only one or two or if larger consider a larger unit).

Boca in October

  • 5 of 5

Our trip to Boca was quite enjoyable and this beautiful condo made it very easy to relax - it is just steps from the beach, close to the bike/cart path that leads to town and the bottom of the island, and the owner goes to great lengths to make sure you're prepared for staying there. Wonderful views of the gulf, modern appliances and close proximity to town/restaurants/entertainment are all a plus - we will definitely be back !

Boca in September

  • 5 of 5

We just spent four very quiet and relaxing four nights in Boca Grande. The condo was conveniently located, decorated nicely, and fully equipped. A lot of the retail stores and restaurants were closed for the month of September and we knew that before we went. We brought our food with us, and what we could not carry we purchased at a nearby grocery store before going onto the island. We ended up having the beach to ourselves as well as the pool. For anybody not liking crowds of people, September is the time to come. It was like having a resort all to yourself. The whole time was very relaxing, restful, and quiet. It was just us and nature. We would not hesitate coming back in September, and actually after our experience, we might just opt for September dates.

Great Boca vacation

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from two very relaxing weeks spent on Boca Grande in this very comfortable and nicely decorated and well equipped condo. In the past, when we owned property on the mainland, we visited Boca many times for its relaxed atmosphere, great beaches and good restaurants. However, we made day trips only and it was very rewarding to be able to stay for two full weeks on the island this time to enjoy all it has to offer. To wake up each morning from a restful sleep in a very comfortable king sized bed and then look outside and see the Gulf of Mexico out of the window, have the beach almost right at the door, spend many hours exploring the town or relaxing or looking for shells on the beach and then in the evening watch the most beautiful sunsets right from the condo or from the beach, these are all experiences that were tremendously enjoyable and will leave lasting memories. We will definitely return in the future.

Feeling Relaxed and Pampered at the Boca Grande Club

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for one week in this beautifully decorated condo. The décor was very beachy and had many upgraded finishes. The owner e-mailed us upon arrival to make sure that everything was OK. We were surprised with a bottle of white wine, Starbucks coffee and nuts. Our favourite activity was to walk the beach everyday and also to read in the shade of an umbrella listening to the surf. The area is very unspoiled and in a natural state. We saw dolphins, ibis, turtles, iguanas, pelicans, and other wildlife on our walks. The condo is very upscale with designer towels and sheets, everything all in beautiful island colours. We ate in the club dining room a few times and felt very pampered. The sunset views were amazing and the food and service was very good. In town we visited some of the local shops and also did a lot of people watching while eating ice cream! It is so interesting to see all the golf carts being driven everywhere. The owner also provided an extensive list of recommended restaurants and things to see and do and he promptly answered an e-mail question that I had. We visited the lighthouse at the end of the island and enjoyed all the local history. It is such a quaint town with no highrises or chain stores.....simply beautiful. The condo was the perfect place for us......so quiet with not many people on the beach. The shelling was incredible!! I can't wait to go back to Boca!!
