Maison Violette is one of the best kept secrets in New Orleans, the historical French Quarter home offers a unique New Orleans experience with gracious Southern hospitality.
Maison Violette is located on the historic Esplanade Avenue. Located within a short walking distance of both Frenchman St and the French Market. Esplanade Avenue runs from the Mississippi River front to the intersection with Carrollton Avenue just past Bayou St. John, and the entrance to City Park. Many 19th century mansions still line the street; it functioned as a 'millionaire's row' for the Louisiana Creole section of the city.
The home offers guests a step into the past, yet new and comfortable accommodations with its recent masterful renovation which offers a luxurious, clean, modern comfortable feel. Amenities include a fully furnished kitchen, slate counter tops, stainless appliances in addition to all that one could wish for to cook a gourmet meal, a Japanese soaking tub in the spa like serene bathroom setting, a king size bed dressed in all of the romantic elements the city has to offer and a front porch with a swing to sit back, relax and watch the spirit of a city that is truly alive!
The location of the Maison Violette sits in the heart of New Orleans. No need for a car while staying at the Maison Violette, everything is within walking distance. You want to walk the streets of New Orleans and take in all of history and vibrance the city has to offer as you explore all of the many neighborhoods.
New Orleans offers endless entertainment and attractions through out the year. So much fun being sumbmursed in all the culture. Huge difference from Wa State.
Since I live only about 4 hours from New Orleans I visit there pretty often. Usually just for weekend trips and have always stayed in a hotel. This trip though we decide to change it up and rent a house. Best decision we could have every made. The neighborhood the house is in is pretty much in the middle of everything the french quarter has to offer. It is a good walk to get down to the lively part of bourbon street, but that was no big deal. The house itself had lots of charter and was adorable! I loved having a front porch to hangout on. that is honestly where we spent most of our time while we were at the house. Staying there was me and my boyfriend and another couple. We had plenty of room for the 4 of us! Now the only downside is that darn tub!!!!! It was very awkward because you are just out in the open in this bathroom lol. And there is a sprayer but that darn thing makes water go EVERYWHERE because there is only a tub no curtain or anything. We all did have lots of laughs though involving this tub ordeal. We made the best of it. Another thing is the sleeping nook is on the back side of the bathroom. So the set up goes master bedroom, bathroom, sleeping nook. So the people in the nook are the go back and forth though the main bedroom in order to go from their room to the main part of the house. Got a little old after 3 nights. But the tub and rooms were no deal breaks at all! The house is still amazing the best location. Met the neighbors of the house next door super sweet people!!! the trip was a success and the house was awesome!!!!
The place was outstanding and close to everything, I literally parked my truck and walked to everything the whole wknd... It was far away from everything that the noise wasn't there but close enough to take a stroll...I would love to stay here again!
I'm still recovering from the this past weekend in New Orleans, not because I drank too much but because how awesome it was to be so centrally located right in the middle of all the action the French Quarter has to offer.
This original Shotgun-style duplex was just perfect. On Saturday night instead of going out we had about 10 people on the porch swing and stoop just enjoying the gorgeous oak trees across the street on the Esplanade.
For those people worried about not having a shower, don't worry and do what we did. Go to the Lush store in the Quarter and buy yourself a bubble bath bar. They will also give you free samples with a purchase. Then come home and relax with a bubble bath made for Beyoncé.
I will definitely return, I'm thinking about next weekend, LOL!
overall great place, great location...1 drawback, having no shower got old quick!
