business, modern and dynamic woman.

Why Owner chose 17th Arrondissement Batignolles-Monceau

It's close to everything with a lot of facilities.

What makes this apartment unique

If you are a jogging fan, you can run from the Apartment, to the biggest and most famous park of Paris 'The Bois de Boulogne'. The street is buzzing with all kinds of shops and stores, Bio generation market in the rue de Guersant and you can even see the fresh morning croissants, breads and cakes from the living room window overlooking the Boulangerie (bakery) accross the street!

Guestbook comments from the owner

The apartment we rented on Guersant Street, 17th Paris, between Porte Maillot and the Arc de Triomphe was very nice, calm with a lot of space. It was nice to walk to the Arc de Triomph. Thank you for your warm welcome. Regards.

My wife and I stayed here June 2014, accompanied by our two teenage grandsons. First, this apartment is not as it appears in the pictures. There are many places where the paint is peeling off the walls and not just small places. The main living area has a large amount of this in one corner. The carpeting is in poor condition, dirty and in need of complete replacement. We immediately tried to procure a hotel, but no rooms were available. Second, the bedroom is down a hallway from the main area and is not impacted by the portable A/C unit which is in the main area. The A/C unit requires that one of the French doors be open negating most of the effect of the A/C. This should not be a problem in the winter but is in the summer. The bedroom features a platform bed which is only a few inches off the ground. It is difficult to get up and down from and not comfortable. It features the classic rolled french pillow which is very uncomfortable.

There also doesn't appear to be heating in the bedroom although there is a panel in the hallway. The bathroom is extremely small with an very small, narrow tub. The small tub has large humps in the bottom which makes it very difficult to stand and use the shower. Also, unknown to us, toilet paper is not provided except for what the previous renters left. We've been told this is standard practice. The large TV in the main room has been replaced with a much smaller unit. There was a lot of difficulty with the TV service and the TV which took 3 tech savvy people to fix. The internet worked well although we had to reboot it every day. The lift services several buildings and requires a walk around that is somewhat inconvenient but does work for suitcases. We used the steps almost exclusively.

On the plus side, the location is excellent for those who want to be away from more touristy areas. There are good local shops, restaurants and patisseries nearby. The closeness of Port Maillot provides excellent transportation options between the Metro and RER. The sofa beds in the main room are comfortable, much more than the bedroom. The owner was of minimum help with anything except arranging an early hired car pickup to get to CDG which worked very well. As noted by another reviewer, cash is the only method of payment, which I prefer but may not be for all.

In summary, for American visitors, this apartment is primitive, in need of a huge amount of maintenance and certainly not worth the money.

Owner's Response: Good morning, It is easy to denigrate an apartment while you told me to be satisfied by the hosting ??? Air-conditioning is only in the living room as indicated on the advertising, the window still opened a little beat for the evacuation of the hot air because in Paris the buildings of 18 and 19th century are not planned for Air conditionned. But during the winter the window is closed which idea!! The WIFI works in the living room but not in the bedroom because very distant so what is the problem? A lot of scientist talk about all the bad thing you can have for the health if you stay too close from the 'ondes'. Pillows : you go 6 pillows , how much you still need it? Yes the kitchen and the bathroom are not very big, you see it on pictures, it is a lot of case in Paris in old building, for 1000-euro for 7 nights all inclusive for 4 adults or if you realise that a night per person make 36 Euros in Paris in a residential area you cannot have a loft! Yes I always put 1 toilet roll in the apartment after the tenant buy what he want, you are not in the hotel so you have to buy your toilet paper during your stay. Internet works as well as the television but it happens that there are cuts there I am not responsible of Internet connexion. Regards. H.B.

Happy Tourist

My family and I just recently stayed here and loved it!! While it is not "in the middle of everything" (as some reviewer suggested), it is an easy 5 minute walk to the metro enabling you to get to "the middle of it" quickly and easily while enjoying the fact that you are living more like a true Parisian. There were boulangeries and fromageries right around the corner as well as full service restaurants, pharmacies and just about anything else you could need right nearby. There also appeared to be bicycles you could rent just steps from the apartment but we didn't get a chance to look into that. Also, the flat is a short walk from the Triumph Arc and the Champs Elysees. The flat itself was lovely and had all of the amenities you could need. There were two very nice, extremely comfortable, easy to use, pull out sofa beds as well as a bedroom with a platform bed (I saw some review that said that the bed was awkward to climb into and out of, but it was really just one step off the ground so provided you do not have any disabilities I do not believe this was a big issue). I also saw a review that complained that the lift didn't go exactly to the apartment floor. While this is true, it was only a minor inconvenience. You can take the lift to the 6th floor and then walk down one flight to the apartment. Even with all of our luggage this was hardly an inconvenience because there was only one flight of steps to deal with. The lift is small (room for only two people at a time with some luggage), but, again, not that big of a deal. These minor inconveniences in no way took away from our overall experience in this apartment which was wonderful! It was clean, comfortable, well maintained, convenient to public transport and had all of the amenities we needed including a small kitchen with a small fridge, microwave oven, stove, dishwasher and clothes washer (no oven---but again, no big deal for us). The flat also had a few folding chairs (which enabled us to sit out on the narrow balcony that ran the length of the entire flat and had a great view), as well as all the pots, pans, dishes, glasses, linens and towels you could need. There was a dining area too. Owner was easy to deal with and responsive to our questions (via email) and the flat was very reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone (who can use steps). P.S. Don't miss Montmartre! TIP:avoid lines: buy advanced tix to Louvre and Eifel Tower asap.

Nice apartment with inconveniences imposed by owner.

  • 3 of 5

The living room is indeed large and pleasant, with lots of light both natural and very good lamps, with nice view of quiet and spacious courtyard and the Concorde La Fayette tower at a distance. The bedroom features a mattress seating over an oversized box for a bed, making your in-and-out access to bed somewhat bizarre. The elevator does not take you to your floor, requiring some walk and climbing one flight of stairs, thus not recommended for handicapped visitors.

Contrary to claims on the listing the apartment does not have telephone, and the owner does not accept credit cards. You are required to pay through KlikandPay and to purchase insurance, which together add an additional 10% to the rental cost.

We were given only one set of door keys, in our case a serious inconvenience.

A residential rather than a tourist area, with lots of local shops and restaurants, it gives an authentic exposure to the daily Parisian life, and still access to the usual tourist destinations. Proximity to Porte Maillot provides the best airport access by bus, as well as local buses, trains and metro.

Owner's Response: Hello, The elevator is going up and you have to come down half step because the apartment is half step under. I have ask for cash because of the key set that you ask for it is just a garanty to have it back when you will leave the apartment. You don't have telephone in the apartment because everybody have sell phone or internet with skype and facebook. For the 10% that you talk about it is not for me I mean my pocket, you pay it for a secure payment, just more security for you and I to be sure that it is a real rent with an real apartment when you'll arrive in a other country. It is not fake!!! And I always ask for a dommage insurance if something happens during your visit or if you could'nt come just few days before. When you rent your apartment you see a lot of strage case. Happy that your enjoy it even with your remarque. Mr.D.

Located next to the OECD, the Palais des Congrès,Arc de Triomphe, it is ideal for exhibitors or visitors. It is also very convenient for those who arrive by plane as there are direct bus from Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) and from Beauvais airport. At 5 minutes by walk from the jardin d'Acclimatation and the bois de Boulogne.

Nearby there is also an RER station with direct trains to Versailles, Disneyland Paris.

Lets feel like a parisian : out your door you’ll find not only early-morning fresh produce markets, but also butcher, boulangerie and fine pastry shops, to say nothing of flower vendors and even an artisan chocolate maker!

Located near restaurants and shopping, you'll enjoy picking up your daily baguette and pastries at one of the city's best bakeries, or 'boulangerie', just on the corner of the street. Be sure to try their 'éclair au chocolate' and award-winning won't be disappointed!
