Located on beautiful, tree lined 4th Avenue, this home is your escape to a unique and stylish vacation. Beautifully designed and carefully edited, the house incorporates an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture. A fresh, blue and white theme is tastefully executed throughout.
There are 4 bedrooms, each with their own personality, which can comfortably accommodate 8 people. The bathroom is bright and sunny with a large open shower. For the serious musician, a Steinway grand piano. The kitchen is designed to entertain with ease and is fully stocked for preparing anything you can dream up. It opens onto the back deck, which is loaded with potted plants and comfortable furniture, perfect for lounging or morning coffee.
There is a large, furnished wrap around front porch, perfect for late afternoon drinks. The yard is large, well maintained and completely fenced in. Your small, well trained dog is welcome. There are 3 big beautiful trees in the back yard, creating a natural cathedral.
The beach is only a short bike ride away. There is so much to do and see now in Asbury Park and on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. I look forward to sharing my home with you. It is a special place and I always leave rested and relaxed. I'm sure you will too.

I am John Mulling, an interior designer from New York. I bought my first house in Asbury Park in 2000 and have watched it grow and renew itself over the years. I love it's quirkiness and beauty. There is always something fun and interesting going on. I come here to relax almost every weekend and it never disappoints.
The Owner purchased this house in 2003
This stylish and comfortable home exceeded out expectations. Aside from figuring out a shower schedule (was not a problem at all), our holiday week in this charming and welcoming home was effortless and amazing. The owner came over to help us set up the television and dvd player---so nice and accommodating, and made sure our stay included high end linens, nice towels, a well-equipped kitchen with great dishes and serving pieces and a warm atmosphere. It was our first Christmas without the family compound and we were able to recreate our holiday in this house, complete with stockings, decorations and Christmas morning brunch. Thanks so much for a memorable Christmas at the beach!
This is a wonderful, comfortable house with tons of charm!! We stayed at this house for a week in December and were extremely satisfied and very pleased with our choice. The home is quite lovely, comfortable and well equipped. Also, the entire house was very clean. The kitchen offers all that is needed to cook, as well as seating. The dining room and living room provide very comfortable, functional space. The bedrooms suited our needs perfectly, and the master bedroom is quite large. There is also a good-sized yard and outside seating. There is a wonderful sound system in the house, and the wifi and cable both worked well. The pictures provided on the web site accurately depict the house – it is very nicely furnished and beautifully decorated, cozy and inviting. John is great and very easy going! We would definitely return to this house and unequivocally recommend it!
I was very much impressed with the house. The interior design of the place was a work of art, sporting a very clean and elegant look while combining both modern and traditional elements. The furnishings were well-maintained and I could see myself feeling guilty leaving any sort of imprint behind. The living room was cozy and made for a nice communal spot in the morning as people trickled down from their bedrooms at various times. The fancy candles and grand piano give the adjacent dining room a very refined and classy appeal to it. If you're a chef, you'd appreciate the kitchen -- plenty of counter space (wasn't sure if it was silastone or quartz counter tops), stainless steal appliances, and good lighting (from the glass doors and the accented lights). The backyard was spacious with a solid deck, access to a grill, plenty of greenery, and some necessary shade from the tall trees. The one-and-a-half bath could be a bit demanding for a group of eight people, but it's not so bad if you budget your shower time and the people you're with are reasonable folks. The beach was a bit further than anticipated, but still walk-able, as were stores, bars, and other nearby places of interest. Overall, this was an excellent place to stay and I would recommend it to groups of six to eight.
The interior was a real work of art, sporting a very clean and elegant look, much like the photos depict. The furnishings were well-maintained and the place catered well to a fairly large group (around 8 people). Whether it's lounging around in the living room on a lazy morning, enjoying meals or table games in the dining room (the piano adds a classy feel to it), or simply relaxing in the spacious backyard it never felt crowded or confined. Even under a hot sun, you'll find shade beneath the towering tree in the back, or out in front on the porch. One-and-a-half bath may seem insufficient for 8 people, but if you go with a good group of reasonable folks and manage the shower time, it's not so bad. The trek to the beach was lengthier than I anticipated, but still it was just a few minutes away and certainly viable. Stores, restaurants, and other places are a few blocks away, and the streets are relatively easy to navigate through; there's even a train station not too far from it. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice getaway week or weekend.
Although I own an apartment in Asbury Park it will not accommodate the numbers meeting for a week long family get together.
The place was perfect, with a terrific kitchen to hang in, a wonderful fenced yard and two great gathering spaces: the front porch in the morning for coffee and the back deck for late afternoon drinks before dinner both "at home" and bring in (sushi from Mako). John was a perfect host concerned but not picky and we were happy to treat the beautiful decor as our own.
My only regret was that none of us played the piano.
Our teens liked it enough to spend time with us!
We just came back from a week long stay at the house. I cannot say enough good things about it. It's in a great location, very close to the beach. The house is super quaint. Has a very 'beachy' feel to it. Most everything that you would need (towels, beach chairs, bikes grill, etc), is provided. Great for family or friend getaways. We're already looking to schedule another week,
