My wife and I are small business owners. We are involved in a financial planning business, rental property and even a sewing/monogramming business. We are both CPA's and I also am a CFP. We have four children ages 7 to 15. Life revolves around family for us. Our children are home schooled, we enjoy outdoor activities, sports and are active in our church. Primary hobbies are hunting, fishing, sewing and watching football.
Tina purchased this Cabin in 2008
Why Tina chose Townsend
Our family has vacationed in this area for over 20 years and extensively for the past 5 years. Our children love the area and the attractions. We frequent Cades Cove, DollyWood, Sevierville Knife Works, just to mention a few. However, we also enjoy the privacy and seclusion of the property. We love staying 'at home' playing ping pong, pool and just enjoying outdoors in this beautiful area. My wife and I began visiting in the Wears Valley region in the early 80's and discussed buying property for years. We finally took the plunge in 2008 and purchased our own property after years of renting other cabins. We vacation at least one full week here every year.
What makes this Cabin unique
Location is a major benefit. You can reach most major attractions in the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Wears Valley area in less than 30 minutes depending on traffic. You are close enough to be convenient but also enjoy privacy from traffic and other distractions. We love to visit in the 'off season' between November and January. The whole area is decorated for Christmas. There are fewer people, great shopping, and attractions are not as crowded. An added bonus is occassional snow makes the entire area look like a giant postcard. We are from further south so this is a real treat. However, summer is also great with many water park attractions. Sevierville has an indoor water park so you can have fun in the water with snow on the ground outside. This cabin is large. Often living areas are small even though a cabin may sleep 8 to 10. Our cabin has larger bedrooms and living areas and is about 3,000 square feet versus 1,300 to 1,500 square feet often found in other cabins that sleep 8 to 10 people.

Our stay was better than expected. We spent most of our time on the front deck. Even though the cabin is secluded, it wasn’t far from the activities we had planned. Tina was amazing to work with. We definitely would plan to stay here again in future trips. Thank you for such an amazing experience and allowing us to use your home.
Needs some TLC and caring owner
Location was great and the Lodge could be fantastic but it truly needs some TLC (tender loving care). Many things need work such as exhaust vent located by side of sink totally exposed with cover on floor exposing wire, etc., outside balcony one section bottom hanging down, air conditioning vent in dining area partially crushed, microwave handle broken at bottom, going to the loft - wall paper trim torn, lamp shade in loft bedroom torn/burned?, etc. The owner was contacted on Saturday about the loft bathroom toilet stopped up. She stated that it being Easter the next day, it may be Monday before it would be fixed which we understood. There were 7 of us using 1 of the 2 bathrooms. When we returned late Monday afternoon, the toilet was still not functional. When the owner was called she said she forgot and apologized. She called back and said a plumber would be there Tuesday and told us that most probably it could be unstopped by now after sitting plugged for more that 2 days. My husband finally got it unstopped after that time. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!! Not at all happy about the lack of response!!!!!!!! This is the worst VRBO experience we have had in all our many travels!!!!!!
I did forgot to call Monday morning and I was truly apologetic. Monday night the plumber said he would come early Tuesday but the problem might have resolved itself if they didn't want to wait on him. I made it clear I didn't expect them to try but it was an option. Evidently it worked but still took some effort. When I checked back with her, she suggested I pay her husband for fixing the toilet even though they clearly stopped it up. I thought at first she was kidding. She was not.
As to the repairs, we repair as things come to our attention and are updating the wallpaper to paint over time. This cabin rented 270 plus out of 365 days and by far the large marjority of the guests have been very pleased.
Beautiful property with amazing view!
Being a family of 6 from South Florida, we needed a property close enough for activities but quiet enough to enjoy some peace in the evenings. This property was amazing, literally at the top of a mountain overlooking the Smoky Mountains! Minutes away from tons of things to do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, we enjoyed 5 days of comfortable weather and one glorious day of snow at the cabin (Our first time ever seeing snow!) Thank you, Tina, for allowing us to visit your beautiful cabin. It was everything we could've hoped for and more!
It was a good stay with some of my army buddies. Great view of the mountains and not to close to other cabins. The showers could have been a bit cleaner. But other than that was a good stay. I also washed the dishes before we used them. But that is just me lol. Would stay again.
Great location, clean house and fully stocked with kitchen supplies!
Had a great few days here, the house was perfect and it was great for kids! I highly recommend this house!
