Hey Patrick!

Your place is AMAZING!We wanted to go ahead and leave before the weather got too nasty. We locked the door and put your key in a sandwich bag under the door mat. Very Nice & Cozy Chalet! High Up On Beech Mountain, Close to Slopes! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

  • 5 of 5

I only have 1 disclaimer so here it is up front: My 5 star rating on this Chalet is based off of the quality of the home & customer service vs overall cost; the Chalet itself is not a 5 star home but it exceeded our expectations by miles. We rented this home during a holiday weekend for 4 nights during peak season, and without going into specifics I can say that we would have spent roughly the same on a 1 room motel...unbelievable value!!! I could put the obligatory statement of "could use some updating" but that would most likely require the owner to increase the rental cost, so keep it as is...we loved it!!! The owner called us on the drive up with heads up instructions and how to access the home, and everything was as he said it was. The chalet has a nice view and sits right next to a bustling brook which adds to the natural atmosphere and comfort of mountain life. I've been taking trips to Beech and Sugar Mountain nearly every winter for about a decade, and I've stayed in everything from slopesiders to million dollar modern cabins and budget homes at the base, and this Chalet is probably in my top 3 based off of everything you get in this home for the cost...we will rent again! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Last minute Fall break trip

  • 4 of 5

Property was as described and is priced appropriately. Very clean. Kitchen well stocked. Loved the location next to Mountain stream and hiking trail. Very peaceful and quiet. Patrick (owner) was very accommodating on short notice. Some of furnishings were a bit dated, but everything was functional and essentially a non issue for us. Plenty of hot water for morning showers. Would rent again without hesitation.

"A musty old house". Smells bad. Probably mold and mildew. Why risk your health and wealth?

Owner's Response: It is a old house that has been updated and has no sign of mildew. This elderly gentleman came when it was raining and forecast to rain his entire stay, he decided to leave and blamed in on a musty smell and wanted a full refund. He has stayed at the property previously and he never had a problem with the property before, when I gave him a portion of a refund, he decided to give me a poor review. Actually, a family visited the following weekend and absolutely loved it and had no complaints of any kind! there's always one who complains when they're unhappy because it was a rainy, messy weekend in the beautiful mountains! Oh well! Haters gonna hate!

Perfect mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Great location, close to lots of hiking trails including one next to the house! Very quiet, wooded, creek, lots of deer. Great recreation center only a few miles away. 45 minutes from Linville Falls, Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway. House has a great back deck. This was our second stay and we'll be back.

Holiday in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I along with my Golden Retriever "Buergermeister" spent one month in this beautiful mountain setting. Patrick was very helpful on our arrival and we had no difficulty adjusting to this very spacious cottage. Firewood was plenty and we used it several evenings. Coming from Florida we enjoyed the cool days and evenings. This community is well maintained, flowers in many areas, trails nicely maintained, and so may things to do. We especially enjoyed the Rec Ctr, The doggy park, the wonderful trails in the outback and the two lakes. This cottage is recommended for all who enjoy nature. We look forward to our next visit to this nice area.
