Beautiful secluded cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and the area was super secluded! It was great to get off the grid for the weekend. Location was hard to get to but once you got it then it was pretty easy! Everything was clean and the house had plenty of pillows and blankets! The property was well taken care of and so pretty! The only issue we had were the neighbors free roaming dogs. Our dogs do not typically like random dogs running up on them and so it was hard to take them outside to go to the bathroom or for a little stroll because as soon as they heard us they were running to the property. At least they had bells so we could hear them coming. They weren't aggressive but I didn't want to take any chances.

Definitely Cozy

  • 3 of 5

This cabin is semi-retired. You do have neighbors and they do have dogs that bark alot and wander. There was no view of the mountains. Trees were in the way. The cabin was very clean and cozy. We had everything we needed. It was very relaxing. We just wanted to escape from the world for a while. This definitely did it. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Comfy cabin, quiet and quaint

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Altitude Cozyness for a long weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. The cabin was perfect for the two of us and our small dogs. The bed was comfy and the deck is great for enjoying the surrounding nature. We saw lots of deer and even a bear one night at dusk! We were here during the pereseid meteor shower and watched it at night from the deck on our air mattress we brought with us, It was perfect! We didn't use the kitchen much but it had everything you could need. We watched a couple movies from the DVD collection - some great comedies from our childhood! Only downside for us was the view was a bit obstructed due to the trees being a bit overgrown, but we got our fair share of beautiful views through local hikes and the road up to the cabin. We would absolutely stay here again!

peaceful and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We visited Luray caverns and it was about half hour drive. We hiked in shendoah and it was about an hour drive. The views driving to and from the cabin are beautiful! The cabin itself was clean and quiet. The last bit of road to the cabin was fun to drive and all wheel or 4 wheel drive would be beneficial. Step hills and turns on a dirt roads. No low riders.

Owner's Response: Very glad you enjoyed the cabin! This year has been very wet and there have been some repairs made on the gravel roads, which have resulted in the roads to the cabin being unusually muddy. In the past, we have gone to the cabin with a regular car and have never had any problem. By September the roads should be back into their usual shape.

Quiet, relaxing, peaceful!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a quiet relaxing weekend away--and we found it. Yes, there were fun things nearby--canoeing and kayaking (we tried, but found it overcrowded), hiking, Lurray Caverns, etc. We explored and hiked a bit, but just enjoyed coming back to the cabin and taking in the natural views and peace of the place. The cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. And yes, we hope to go again.

Nice and close to Shenandoah

  • 5 of 5

We loved watching the birds and hiking the steep road to Shenandoah. It's not an isolated cabin, but it's definitely remote. Make sure you get in before the evening fog settles. We can't wait to visit again.
