Loved it! Especially the view at sunrise and sunset. Quiet and peaceful. It was just what I needed. Cabin was very well appointed and bed was super comfy. Highly recommend this one.
The Contentment Cabin was just what we were hoping for an escape from the city over New Years Eve. Very comfy and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, the fireplace was warm with plenty of firewood, and the bed was comfy.
Owner Kim was very prompt answering any questions that we had. The cabin was easy to find and not too far from the I-85. However, you definitely felt like you were in the country. The property is located on a great section of the lake with a deep river channel not far from the dock. Even with the lake down as it is right now, the dock was accessible. I launched my kayak and was catching fish under docks just on the other side of the channel. I can imagine that this would be a great location in the summer time for boating, swimming, and fishing.
The wi-fi worked well and they even had an old school stereo system that sounded great after we found a good little country station. The tv worked fine (you only need the Direct TV white remote, not any of the other remotes to turn off/on the tv/cable). My only complaint was that we couldn't find ESPN for the football games or CNN for NYE coverage, but hey, we didn't come up here to watch tv.
Loved the old Jenn Aire stove top with built in grill, worked pretty good for us with grilling some steaks and chicken. Make sure you bring some charcoal if you want to use the grill outside (it's in a little rough shape). Overall, the cabin could stand some minor updates and maybe a little decluttering, but it was perfect for us. Thanks to the Immels for sharing a little piece of your family cabin with us. We will be back in the summer time for sure!!!!
Had a great stay and loved the peace and quiet.
It honestly doesn't get much better than this! My husband and I traveled with our three dogs as we were passing through to NC. We were able to recharge our batteries as we swung on the swing, looking at the lake each morning, and listened to the crackling fire in the fireplace each night.
We will definitely make plans to come back for an extended period of time.
If you are looking for a place to spend a few quiet, peaceful days or weeks on vacation, Contentment Cabin would be an excellent choice. As Florida residents, spending the month of October at Contentment Cabin was a perfect way to transition from summer to fall. The sunrises in the mornings provide an inspiring way to start the day. Although located in a secluded area, there are opportunities for day trips to the mountains to enjoy the fall foliage (late October), numerous waterfalls, and hiking. If you prefer, you can relax at the cabin and try your luck fishing. Our two little house dogs loved the opportunity to roam free in the fenced in yard as we relaxed outside watching the boats come and go on Lake Hartwell. The cabin provides all the necessities required for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The Immel family was very responsive to any questions we had.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this lake house. The lake view was amazing! We spent most of our time outside enjoying the beautiful weather. The only thing that I would suggest would be to update the furniture, it is very worn. The outside of the cabin had plenty of seating, but it was also worn and covered in cobwebs and bugs. The outside area needs some attention. There were broken, old items and furniture in a pile in the yard and swim toys everywhere that were covered in mold and were broken. The boat dock was so relaxing. The swing was a great place to watch the sunset. The swim ladder that is used to get in and out of the lake is dangerous. The wood that it is attached to is coming up from the dock and the ladder itself is missing bolts and very unstable. We would come back to this rental if some of these issues were fixed.
