Guestbook comments from the owner

We have really enjoyed our stay here, and view is fabulous! We woke up this morning to a parade of about 50 wild turkeys in the backyard this morning, it was great! Our son said this morning that he never wants to leave. Thanks for sharing your cabin!

Valley View II

  • 5 of 5

We recently returned from our mother's day vacation in Ruidoso and once again stayed at Valley View. My 2010 review, as well as, other reviews adequately describe the property. The privacy and views are unbeatable and the owner continues to update the property. I noticed the new HD TV but my wife mentioned the new carpet, furniture and bedding. The house is clean and comfortable and has everything you would be looking for in a weekly rental. The main floor has a large great room with fireplace and HD TV, as well as, a wrap around deck and the views are just as nice upstairs in the master bedroom. Included upstairs is a desk and chair with wireless internet connection. Great place to get caught up on your emails

There is a nice grocery store within a couple of miles and the property has a grill. A perfect combination for dinner on the deck with our family and friends. We also enjoy returning to several of our favorite restaurants around town.

Ruidoso is a very family friendly place to vacation. Lots of things to see and do. You can golf one day and ski the next. So seriously consider this property when looking for a excellent VRBO experience in Southern New Mexico.

Cozy and comfortable cabin in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a relaxing getaway to the mountains and this lovely cabin did not disappoint. The views were outstanding - the best in the area - absolutely breathtaking. The hot tub was an added bonus. We really enjoyed taking an evening soak as the stars came out and then sitting cozy by the beautiful wood fireplace afterwards. It really added to the atmosphere. The furnishings were very nice with very comfortable beds in all rooms - it was like sleeping on a cloud and that had nothing to do with the elevation. The property was immaculately kept. We had everything we needed including morning visits from deer and turkeys. We would definitely recommend this beautiful home to our friends and family and can't wait to return. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Sandy and Leonard - Florida

Stunning Views and Home!!!

  • 4 of 5

I guarantee you, this wonderful home is unmatched in views, location, and privacy! Yet you are close to town on all paved roads. Wildlife, especially deer, come by several times a day. It is quiet and peaceful and has an amazing deck, which we spent most of our time on, that and the hottub. The deck had several different seating areas so you can spread out if you like. There were always sunny and shady aras (at the same time), to choose from, depending on your preference or the temp. The views were amazing from each and every spot!

The house was so amazing and decorated great. It was very cheery, welcoming, and comfortable! It has 2 living areas, main floor living room and in the upstairs master bdrm, so my husband and i, and our 2 children could each have some separate down time if wanted. It also has an A/C unit which most houses there don't have. We rarely needed it due to all the ceiling fans, the mountain breeze, and cool evenings, but did a wonderful job of cooling the entire house when used.

That being said...there were only a few things i wish were different. None of the beds had any padding on them. No pillowtops, memory foam, feather padding, etc. This probably wouldn't be an issue to most people, but it is if you have any back or joint problems like we do. We stayed a wk, and i was pretty sore by the end of it. I think even a $40 memory foam topper from WalMart would help. Maybe i'm just spoiled, because our last 3 HomeAway rentals all had high end beds you would melt into at night.

The other small issue was items being rationed, such as toilet paper (3 rolls per bathroom), trashags (4 small kitchen bags), dishwashing detergent (5 gel), laundry soap (4 gel), no free long distance, etc. This seems to be something you encounter when renting through an agency vs the actual owner. Again, this is something we've never ran into during other stays, but those were all done through the owner. We don't abuse any of those items, so having such limits made us feel like we were receiving rations.

Those 2 things aside, this home was well worth it all! I would stay there again and again, sore back and all! :) We feel it had the best views of ANY home there and were all very sad to leave. Loved our wk there and were so blessed by our stay. Truly!

Thank you

Your home away from home with spectacular views.

  • 5 of 5

The mountain cabin at 7,000 plus feet was marvelous and so extremely well decorated and furnished that we wanted for nothing. My wife and I just loved the upstairs suite. Our daughter and her husband along with our granddaughters slept in the two downstairs bedrooms. We all felt very comfortable living in the cabin.

From the cabin decks the mountain and valley views were outstanding which we took full advantage to explore. The cabin included a telescope that could be used to view the mountains and valley in the daytime and the stars at night. Everyday outside the cabin we saw wildlife; lots of deer and wild turkey.

We rode the tram up Sierra Blanca and then hiked to the top. From there we had a 360 degree view of the beautiful vistas of New Mexico. We experienced horseback riding and Frisbee golf. Ruidoso is just minutes away with lots of resturants and interesting shops and places to see and things to do and experience. For us, this time was one of our best vacations ever.

Memory-making visit

  • 5 of 5

This house is a true gem! Perched peacefully in the mountains, the views of Sierra Blanca and the valley are breathtaking and stargazing from the hot tub is magnificent. We visited with our kids and found the house to be charming and comfortable with everything we needed to enjoy a quality, family vacation. The "log cabin/lodge" feel of the house along with the wood-burning fireplace and cozy atmosphere made for lovely evenings playing cards and snuggled up with movies or a good book. We cooked all of our meals at the house and found the kitchen well stocked with all the necessary essentials, and there was plenty of comfortable seating and sleeping space. We only really went into town to explore the quaint shops, but the town and area offer plenty to do, golf, bowling, hiking, skiing, a casino, and restaurants. One of the most amazing things about our trip was the visiting wildlife. In the morning and at dusk, the deer would come right into the yard to graze and wild turkeys would walk right across the street. We are definitely going back again and would highly recommend this house to anyone seeking a serene, relaxing, beautiful place to stay in the New Mexico mountains!

Amazing Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My Fiancee and I recently rented this cabin for our first trip to Ruidoso. I can't imagine having gone somewhere else!. The cabin was perfect! We wanted a place to relax that offered some privacy and amazing views. It definitely delivered. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some, and don't forget about the beautiful view even it had from the window over the sink. The main bedroom in the loft was enormous and the balcony up there offered a great place to sit any time of day and read a book or just look at the view. The living room was cozy and a great place to watch movies at night with a fire burning in the fireplace. The main deck had a great table we could eat outside at and a great hot tub which was perfect at night to relax in and look up at the stars. The other two bedrooms were nicely sized (we didn't use them since there were only two of us). Their was one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds.

The drive up is kind of scary (if you're afraid of heights like I am) but totally worth it. You have to do it to get up to these great mountain cabins and I was use to it after the first day.

Their is no way we would ever stay somewhere else while in Ruisdoso. We got lucky on our first trip and can't wait for this to become a regular vacation spot for us!
