Dislosure....I am a 'recovering ultamarathon runner' (11 years clean, pacing not included) at 61 I think i'm okay????

Susan Shay purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Susan Shay chose Park City area

This is a unique property and is not for everyone. If you want to be in 'town' where the action is.....Not for You..

It is approximately 11 miles outside downtown Park City (15 minutes drive). You will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle as it is at the end of a mountain road that gets a lot of snow.

It is a local destination for backcountry skiers..literally...they park 50 yards up the road as there is approx 1000 vertical feet of bowl can ski from the front door and connect to miles of trails.

lots of moose, deer, etc...bear in the summer are not uncommon visitors though elusive.

snow shoes are provided and encouraged....

it is one of very few 'alpine-forest' experiences in the Park City area and a hot tub on the back deck while it is snowing will be a memorable experience...

What makes this cabin unique

within 15 minutes of all Park City Resorts.

within 40 minutes of Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, Solitude resorts (15 minutes closer than Park City location)

25 minutes from the airport

Alone in the woods with special people in a cabin '2nd to none' for charm and creativity all rebuilt and designed by the owners...

We absolutely loved this property!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this property! What a phenomenal place in the Wasatch Mountains. At the end of a dead end street, the house sits on a hill, very privately, with amazing views of the mountain range, that can be enjoyed from a large deck with its own hot tub. Coming into the house feels like stepping into the countryside in Switzerland; the abundance of wood, and asymmetric beams makes the living room, and each room in the house an inviting, unique place to enjoy a mountain vacation. The décor fits all the wood, it is tasteful and also playful, and fun! So a highlight of our skiing days was also to open the door at the end of the day, and step into this warm and cozy mountain cabin, “made for relaxing”. The best way to describe this place is that it just feels right. Alan, the property manager, and owner of this beautiful home was great! He welcomed and showed us around, and was available and attentive during our entire stay! We highly recommend this place to anybody that wants to have a 360 degrees’ mountain experience! Definitely planning on coming back.

Rustic Charm

  • 5 of 5

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Alan gave us a good tour of the cabin and you can tell that he put a lot of hard work into making this cabin comfortable. Very close to Park City and the tubing park is right down the road.

Relaxing cozy getaway in the snowy mountains

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a fantastic pre-Christmas retreat into the mountains thanks to this cozy and convenient get-away home. All the conveniences one would need with a fantastic fireplace and views of the pine trees and mountains in the distance. Almost daily we enjoyed the snowshoeing trails at the end of the street with fantastic summit views of Parley's Canyon and beyond. The hot tub was a bonus treat after a long day of skiing and Park City exploring. We have family in Salt Lake City, so this was very convenient between the valley and Park City attractions. Will definitely look to return in the future!

What a perfect vacation, in a perfect location! This cabin absolutely amazing and was a great place to host our Thanksgiving dinner! We shared our space with a total of 10 family members- plenty of room for entertaining! We appreciated the decor, the remarkable setting, the hot tub, the well appointed kitchen and the cozy fire burning fireplace. We will definitely be back!

Cozy cabin with secluded feeling

  • 5 of 5

Walk out the front door to geat hikes and back country skiing. Or, relax in the hot tub on back porch.

Secluded, casual log cabin living was a nice change from the pace of Chicago. Our high school age children loved the old record player with the 60's and 70's tunes, never turned on the tv all week.

10-15 minutes from canyons/park city ski resort, grocery etc. 15 min to down town park city. About 40 min to Alta ski.

Alan was very responsive whenever we had questions.

Good choice if you want quiet and don't mind driving a touch to get places (which we knew up front and were fine with).
