Belmont Studio Rental Photos and Description

Studio Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Welcome to Belmont Treetops - your perfect getaway in the lush beauty of the Green Mountains. Although we are located in a classic quaint Vermont village, we are only minutes away from all the activities that make Vermont wonderful, especially in the winter months - skiing, skating, and snowshoeing. And, of course in summer and fall: Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, summer concerts, great theater, and restaurants.

This new large studio loft is ideal for a romantic getaway, summer holiday, fall foliage tour or ski vacation. The loft has open space, high ceilings, glass, and is furnished with antiques and cozy furniture. The best part - you feel like you are living in a treehouse as you look out over the treetops to the mountains. We're family friendly but we've also been told that Belmont Treetops is a wonderfully romantic place to stay. Writers and those seeking quiet away from their busy lives have found this to be a place they love coming back to year after year.

The partitioned sleeping area has a queen bed and is surrounded by partial walls and etched glass for privacy. A pullout couch has a full bed. There is a fully-equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave and stocked with all the pots, pans, and cooking utensils you will need. All linens are provided. There is also Wifi and a bluetooth speaker in the studio. And our guests always enjoy the homemade treats and cheese and crackers we leave for them upon their arrival!

WINTER: We are near many ski areas: Okemo, near Ludlow, less than 15 minutes; Bromley, 30 minutes, Killington 40 minutes. You can also enjoy skating on beautiful Star Lake 2 miles away. More than 25 acres of snowshoe and cross-country trails or sledding, outside your front door!

******In winter, four wheel or all wheel drive (AWD) only. If you have front or rear wheel drive you will not make it up our driveway but if you have AWD or 4WD, coming up out driveway will be a breeze. ******** If you do not have AWD or 4wd, you accept responsibility for towing or damage to your car if you cannot make it up the driveway.

You are an easy 1.5 mile scenic walk on a tree-lined country dirt road to the charming Belmont Village, store, and Star Lake. You can start your day with a walk to the store and pick up your morning coffee and newspaper - even in the winter it is an invigorating walk! There is also an old-fashioned library, with a wide selection of books, and a local museum in town.

If you don't want to eat at home using the fully equipped kitchen, there are restaurants as close as ten minutes away. Also nearby is the famous Vermont Country Store in Weston where you will discover hard-to-find items and an impossible to resist selection of candies, cheeses, jams, and other delicious food items.

SPRING/SUMMER/FALL: We are located in the heart of the Green Mountains on nine acres of wooded land and open fields. Views of the mountains are outside your window. Beautiful walks right outside your door and more challenging hikes and miles of trails are nearby. Easy access to beautiful dirt lanes for biking and hiking. Swimming, kayaking, fishing, golf, tennis are less than 15 minutes away. For those seeking cultural activities, the acclaimed Weston Playhouse (Christopher Lloyd played was in DEATH OF A SALESMAN in the summer of 2010) is only ten minutes away and a concert can be found almost every day of the week Minimum three days from Memorial Day to Labor Day and all holiday weekends.

Why The Owner chose Ludlow / Okemo Mountain Area

We had a second home in Belmont (Mount Holly), Vermont for more than 30 years. We lived in San Francisco for 15 years but spent all of our winter and summer vacations here. When we moved back to the East Coast, we decided to make Vermont our home because of the beauty, wide variety of activities in the area, and because Mount Holly is a wonderful, friendly, and welcoming community.

What makes this studio unique

The endless variety of activities in the area always keep us busy. In the summer, the three mile round-trip walk to the local country store is how we start every day. The summer is loaded with things to do: there is our own local music series in the center of town, great local theater and concerts, and for the sports enthusiast, there are not enough hours in the day for all the activities. In the fall, Belmont has its own Columbus Day celebration with a real apple press, a photo contest, and many vendors selling local products. In the winter, Mount Holly is known as the snow belt - we almost always have beautiful snow even when others do not. There isn't a time of year that isn't perfect - even mud season because you can smell the earth begin to thaw, see flowers begin to peak out above the last remnants of snow, and watch the trees begin to bud. It is a magical time.

Wedding Gift Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I received this retreat in Belmont, Vermont as a wedding gift and we were thrilled to spend the weekend in such a relaxing, beautiful environment. The studio was the perfect place to stay a weekend, I could've stayed a week! So peaceful and well stocked! Lots if interesting places to explore nearby. Janet and Paul were the perfect hosts; giving us excellent directions and recommending the best restaurants. We would definately stay with them again! Awesome weekend!

A restful retreat to the Vermont woods

  • 5 of 5

After a particularly long year of stress and strain, both I and my wife were in need of an extended quiet time to decompress; I in particular was desirous of finding a peaceful place to read without interruption. We decided to rent Janet and Paul's loft because it promised to offer not only the perfect surroundings in which to relax and clear our minds, but also because we once resided in the New Hampshire/Vermont region many years ago and feel in some essential way drawn to call this area of the United States our home.

We were not disappointed in the least. We stayed here for two splendid weeks. The loft is airy, bright, and offered nice cross-breezes with its numerous windows on three sides. It is wonderfully secluded, with views of the birch and fir forests typical to this region, as well as the crests of nearby hills. We were extremely fortunate to have the sun shine upon these lovely surroundings for all but two days we were here; but even the more brooding days with their grey skies or passing storms transformed the open spaces of the loft into a tranquil sanctum for reflection, transporting us back to a period in our life which we recall fondly.

While we personally ventured out only a few days, there are lots of things to do if you are more of the outdoorsy type or if you enjoy discovering quaint stores or attending local theater.

And indeed, Janet and Paul will furnish you with a plethora of such indications. They are extremely gracious hosts, solicitous and responsive, very friendly, but never intruding on your privacy. I would highly recommend conversing with both of them as they have fascinating backgrounds.

And do not hesitate to ask for even very minor things. Upon arrival, we noticed that something we expected to find in the kitchen – an Italian mocha which we had seen in one of the photos on this site – was not there. We mentioned this offhand to Janet, who replied (amused we would have taken notice of this) that indeed it used to be there, but that they must have removed it, used it themselves, and then put it somewhere which she could not remember, but that she would definitely look for it. We assured her this was of absolutely minimal importance, but we nonetheless found it that very evening outside the loft door (along with a huge squash from their garden).

Given the opportunity we would not hesitate to return here; we would love to see Belmont/Mt Holly in the winter.

A wonderful getaway and welcoming place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

The studio rental was perfectly perfect. Our hosts covered everything from top to bottom right down to the homemade brownie recipe so that we can re-create them at home. An absolutely lovely space for 2 or a family of 4. All the amenities were covered from a fully accessorized kitchen to complete linens. The information provided in the studio for the area was also very helpful, including restaurants, attractions, hiking trails, and stores, particularly due to limited internet service in the area allowing for some wonderful off the grid time. We look forward to a return trip. We were able to hike, sightsee, cheese and syrup taste, golf, kayak and enjoy a VT maple creamee (or 2). Thank you for a wonderfull stay!

Great Location , Beautiful Loft and Great Host

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful Loft the last weekend of February 2016. It is only 15 minutes to Okemo Mountain and very easy ride. The Loft is absolutely gorgeous, very neat, elegant, with lots of windows and natural light. Janet was very helpful during our stay. She gave us a lot of tips and recommendation about Okemo area (restaurants, music events, shopping). We are definitely coming back next year. Thank you so much for opening your beautiful house to us. Beautiful Space, Wonderful Hosts

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Belmont Treetops for a quick ski trip. It is a beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean and very attractively furnished, with many antiques. The pictures are very representative. Janet and Paul were wonderful hosts, very friendly and welcoming. Yes, there were cheese, crackers, and brownies waiting for us when we arrived. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and plenty of information on local activities and restaurants is provided in the apartment. After my ski boots fell apart on the first day, Janet quickly surveyed some local skiers for recommendations for a good ski shop, and I was able to be fit for new boots and back on the slopes the next morning. We had a great stay, and I'm sure we will return. Definitely 5 stars!

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I recently stayed at Belmont Tree Tops and I could not have asked for a better place to stay. Janet and Paul are the nicest people. We arrived late on Friday night and were welcomed with a brownie and cheese platter. Janet had left notes all around the apartment that made us feel right at home and answered any questions we had about the place. The loft was gorgeous and so clean! There was plenty of space. I had a queen size air mattress that I had brought up and we had more than enough room. During the day we went skiing at Okemo, which was only a 15 minute drive away. In the evening Janet and Paul let us use their snowshoes to explore the trails behind their house. This place is truly magical. I cannot wait to visit again!
