Studio Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)
Why Owner chose Belmont
We had a second home in Belmont (Mount Holly), Vermont for more than 30 years. We lived in San Francisco for 15 years but spent all of our winter and summer vacations here. When we moved back to the East Coast, we decided to make Vermont our home because of the beauty, wide variety of activities in the area, and because Mount Holly is a wonderful, friendly, and welcoming community.
What makes this Studio unique
The endless variety of activities in the area always keep us busy. In the summer, the three mile round-trip walk to the local country store is how we start every day. The summer is loaded with things to do: there is our own local music series in the center of town, great local theater and concerts, and for the sports enthusiast, there are not enough hours in the day for all the activities. In the fall, Belmont has its own Columbus Day celebration with a real apple press, a photo contest, and many vendors selling local products. In the winter, Mount Holly is known as the snow belt - we almost always have beautiful snow even when others do not. There isn't a time of year that isn't perfect - even mud season because you can smell the earth begin to thaw, see flowers begin to peak out above the last remnants of snow, and watch the trees begin to bud. It is a magical time.

Peace and quiet...
First, let me say, the host and hostess are second to none! The property and accommodations are immaculate. Janet has a notebook with EVERYTHING you need to know. My wife and I just wanted to get away from it all for 2 days, and thankfully, I picked the right place. Close to some good restaurants and antique stores, and just a short jaunt to New Hampshire, if you're interested. I would go back in a heartbeat! Definitely 5 stars all the way around.
I especially enjoyed the quiet at the property and being able to relax by sitting out in the yard in the Adirondack chairs surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature.
The perfect spot for a getaway
We were in Vermont for a wedding and decided to take a few extra days to escape the heat and humidity in DC and explore Vermont. Belmont Treetops was the perfect getaway! When we arrived there was Vermont cheese in the refrigerator, fresh flowers from their beautiful gardens on the table and lovely soaps in the bathroom- every detail in the loft was lovingly attended to and we quickly felt right at home. The kitchen is terrific but with so many great restaurants in all directions, we ended up eating most of our meals out. Janet and Paul have a binder full of restaurant choices, area activities and lots of hikes- each day we enjoyed looking through it and making our plans. It was one of the most comprehensive and helpful information folders I have ever seen. We enjoyed breakfasts at the Belmont General Store (after 2 days when I walked in the woman behind the counter asked if I wanted “my regular” - loved that!), Simon Pierce Glass Factory, Fort Ticonderoga, Crowley Cheese, Vermont Country Store and more!
The loft is bright and airy and you can open all the windows and enjoy the cool air - such a treat for us in August! There are several peaceful spots, inside and out, to get cozy with a book and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
We absolutely loved it and my husband and I are already talking about going back to see the fall colors.
Excellent position in a beautiful tree top loft
Great place geographically and aesthetically. Lovely hosts with some fun ideas for activities.
Loved the brownies and cheese and crackers on arrival.
Peace and quiet, lovely 😊
Your Choice Matters
My wife and I spent five memorable nights at this wonderful, neat and cozy place called the Loft. It justifies it's name in every sense of the word. What strikes you when you first open the door is shiny floors and natural carpets, a full kitchen and a skylight. A panoramic view of the forest on both sides.
Those who are into piece and quiet, into fresh and cool mountain air, wild forest and superb hospitality should not look for a better place to relax and recharge.
Thank you Janet and Paul.

The perfect getaway
The Loft is a perfect retreat from the craziness of life. Janet and Paul provide a beautiful property for their guests to appreciate the vast Vermont landscape. They also provide a wealth of information on the many wonderful outdoor excursions, shopping areas and delicious restaurants in the surrounding areas. Our favorite on this trip was Buttermilk Falls, we will definitely be back with our children.
Snowshoeing - access behind house to more than 25 acres of trails. We have two adult and one child pair of snowshoes you can borrow. Near to Star Lake for skating in the winter; swimming in the summer.
