The house is a true ski house built in 1971 with old style ski house charm, one of the first true ski houses at Burke Mountain, with amazing views of Willoughby Gap. The highest house on the mountain with on/ off access both biking and skiing. The most incredible field stone fireplace to warm you up after a day. Mountain Bikers could not ask for a better start to the day with trailhead start from three of Kingdom Trails best downhill runs only a 2 minute peddle away. Ski Tune and bike repair area, exterior bike washing station and repair area. Great deck to share stories about the days events riding the Kingdom Trails. Brand new state of the art Kitchen with soapstone counter tops and wood from the local region making up the cabinets.
We stayed at Tiffandel for a biking weekend. This place is great - easy, convenient, plenty of space and great views! And the riding at Kingdom Trails is awesome, we had a great weekend!
Our group decided to return to Tiffandel this year for another MTB adventure. It was even better the second time around. Weather was great and we spent a lot of time hanging on the deck. This place is a must for your next Kingdom Trails adventure.
Great place, all modern amenities, spectacular view. Easy access to Kingdom trails. Owner answered all questions and checked to make sure everything was OK. We rested our legs with a day Kayaking at Clyde River Recreation. $20 for a 3 hour paddle, it was lots of fun!
Years ago we were introduced to Brett’s house and Burke Mtn. as a ski destination. However in the past year I have been introduced to the Summer months and now it is difficult to pick a favorite season!
The house has everything you could ask for: a cozy great room centered around a an enormous fieldstone fireplace, an open plan gourmet kitchen tailor made for epic family gatherings, a foosball table for the kids (and adults!) and gorgeous views of sunsets over Willoughby Notch.
In the Summer: aside from hiking trails just steps out the front door, the house is situated in the middle of Vermont’s Kingdom Trails network. There’s fantastic scenery and over 100 miles of maintained mountain biking trails catering to all levels. After a full day of riding, après biking at the Tiki Bar in downtown East Burke under the setting sun can’t be beat!
In the Winter: hands-down, staying slope-side is the greatest way to spend a family ski vacation (no packing & unpacking the car with the kids’ gear!) The house is ski-in / ski-out, and Burke Mtn.’s varied terrain has something for everyone. Just up the hill from the house is the mountain’s local watering hole (Bear Den) where you can grab a drink and hear local music amongst Burke's welcoming, tight-knit skiing community. Then it’s a short ski home to end the day with a relaxing family meal around the rustic farmer’s table and doze-off by the fireplace. Heaven!
Slope side on/off to Burke Mountain skiing and Trail side to Kingdom Trails “Knightslayer”, be the first on in the morning from the top. This is one of the first homes built trail side in Burke Mountain with amazing views, and probably the best fireplace in Vermont and view of the Gap.
Other Activities: Snowshoeing, Nordic Skiing, Relaxing
