We have owned our home in Belize since 2001 and go there from Texas as often as we can. We looked at beach property around the world for several years before we found Belize. We first went to Belize in May of 2001. We returned in June, 2001 and bought our home in Belize. One of our best decisions!
Deb Bennett purchased this condo in 2001
We really like the location of our condo. We have easy access to town (10 minutes by cart) but are not in the middle of town and so can enjoy our 200 feet of quiet, sandy beach. Sunset Beach is located on the beach 2.5 miles south of San Pedro Town.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom for two weeks and then moved to another 3 bedroom for week three. Both units are similar in layout however the second one was nicer, more updated, and more privacy bedroom wise. Everything was as advertised. Loved the property and location. Downfall was all of the stairs and no restroom at the pool/beach area. Another note if you need to run the A/C the main level bedroom would hear it. It did not affect us but might bother others. Fell in love with the island and we are currently looking for property to buy. Would highly recommend a visit to the island in paradise.
We stayed a week and had a wonderful time from the concierge service from The Sisters' who had our taxi waiting, made our island plane reservations, and the golf cart was at the resort. The maintenance is top notch, the amenities clean, and everything we needed was at hand. From recommendations for food to the corner store for snacks. We loved sitting on the end of the dock and watching the tarpon at night. Perfect for sundowners under the palapa. The pool is clean and the beach was raked every day. Great spot for sun or shade under the palms. The island has lots to offer, and don't miss the American Crocodile Tour. It was a highlight and very different. Taxi's are $5 to town, and they are probably more comfortable than the golf cart, and there are two restaurant within walking distance. We had a great time at Crazy Canuk's for trivia night. If you lose, you have to take a shot! Great island, and great resort.
My husband and I had a great experience staying in the condo. Everything was very nice and the location was wonderful. I loved being so close to the pool and the ocean. Also it was so convenient being near the corner store! When we arrived we had a golf cart waiting for us and didn't have to worry about the hassle of trying to find a place to rent from. The only critique i have is the internet is extremely slow, so don't plan on using WiFi - but with so much to do nearby, you shouldn't need to. Also, if you are wanting to go downtown often, the condo is a bit far away.
Our party of 6 loved our stay at Sunset. The condo is super comfortable and very well maintained. We would definitely stay here again. I hope its soon.
We had a wonderful vacation at Sunset Beach. We arrived at the airport and our taxi was there with in minutes. The condo was spotless. Ice was made in the freezer for our first night of cocktails. There is plenty of room in the condo. Nice surprise is we could drink the water and make our own ice. Plenty of sheets, towels, extra blankets and pillows. The pool is nice and we loved the pier. We were out there every night looking at the different fish. The hammocks were an added plus. We appreciated the furniture on our private porch and out on the beach. There is a small market you can walk to for groceries. The prices were very fair compared to the bigger groceries in San Pedro. We do recommend a golf cart. Walking or riding bike into San Pedro was a bit of a hike. We felt very safe and most people were friendly and helpful as we were friendly and respectful. We used SUYA for our excursions and had a great time. Laminae, deep see fishing and snorkeling. Yes we would come back. Only negative for us, was we could not snorkel right off the shore. Quite a bit of boat traffic going south to Hol Chan reserve (LOVE!) and Shark Alley (interesting). We did use the kayak's and had some fun with those. Thanks Diane (upstairs) for all your tips and Beth for your welcome to Sunset Beach. We fell in love with Belize!
I spent my birthday in one of the most beautiful places in the universe! Sunset Beach. The condo was beautiful. three bedrooms were all very spacious and comfortable. Chapin (maintenance/grounds keeper) is right on the ball and gets you anything you need. The free kayaks and bicycles were a blast and we used them frequently. The owners were there and were very accomodating and friendly. We couldn't have asked for anything more. this is our third time spending our vacation at Sunset Beach and we have been all over that island and will not stay anywhere else.
