Camano Island House Rental Photos and Description

Beach House, 5 Bedrooms + Bunk Room, 2 Baths, (Sleeps up to 8 adults and 6 kids)

Located on Camano Island's most beautiful beach, this waters edge beach house will remind you just how precious your getaways are. The home is cozy enough for your winter weekend escape and large enough for your family reunion. We are just about an hour from Seattle and you won't be waiting in long ferry lines as Camano is accessible by car.

Wake up to the sun rising over the Cascades and enjoy a hot cup of coffee from Camano Island Coffee Roaters. Look north and take in the incredible view of Mt. Baker. Look south and see Mt. Rainier rising over the southern tip of Camano. Spend the morning beachcombing, reading your favorite book, or taking a walk. The Iverson Spit Preserve, a popular Washington State Audubon Trail, is located just down the beach. 125 species live or visit here, including Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, Loons, and Kingfishers. Cama Beach and Camano Island State Park are also close by.

As the tide rolls out during warmer days, play sand golf, fly kites, build sand castles, or send your kids running on the huge stretch of sand flats.

When the tide rolls in, put out the crab pots or spend the afternoon waterskiing or wakeboarding. Bring your kayaks and enjoy the calm waters of Port Susan. The sandy beach with warm shallow water makes this an ideal spot for young kids.

Take a trip into Stanwood or La Conner for antiquing. Head to the outlets for shopping, or enjoy the games at the Tulalip Casino.

Do you have a book club, a quilting club, or a scrapbooking club? Celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or reunions? This is would make for a great getaway for your group or family

Spend your evenings by the fire, enjoy some cracked crab with a glass of wine, and discover Pacific Northwest living at its very best.

The main floor has an open or great room concept with kitchen, living room and dining area that open onto a large deck. Brand new floor to ceiling windows provide amazing views of the beach, the Cascades, and of course Baker and Rainier. On the main floor, there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with tub. The lower level has a large family room with media area and open area for playing and hanging out. Downstairs, there are 2 bedrooms with Queen beds and a bunkroom with 3 sets of bunks. A new bathroom with walk-in shower and laundry room with front loading machines round out this floor.

Our beds are comfortable and each bedroom is uniquely decorated.

Camano Island is a year round destination. Enjoy salmon fishing in the fall, cozy fires, bird watching, and storms in the winter, Skagit Valley tulips in the spring, and summer....well, it just doesn't get any better than summer here on the Puget Sound!

While August 2016 is fully booked, there is still some availability for June, July, and September.

If you are planning a reunion with more guests than are allowed at this property, please include in your inquiry whether our neighbor's beach home is available. The two homes could easily be rented together for groups as large as 15 adults & 8-10 kids.

We also co-own a beautiful lake house on Lake Cavanaugh that also sleeps 10-14. Please inquire if this home (#414004) if our Camano Island home is not available .

Why Matthew Kane chose Puget Sound

This location on Camano Island gives you all of the benefits of the San Juan Islands without the ferry lines. Long Beach is a quiet stretch of beach homes that will have you relaxing from the moment you drive up. Drive up, slow down, and enjoy the best our Pacific Northwest has to offer.

What makes this house unique

Life slows down here....and that's why we come.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you again for renting us your lovely beach house. We all had a really nice and memorable time there. It’s cozy, clean, well-appointed, convenient, spacious, and overall just excellent. Your place is perfect for a family getaway. Love the retro comfy furniture and beds and amenities like the big screen tv and the washer and dryer were great.

You have a wonderful beach house, we enjoyed the gorgeous sunrises over the Cascades very much, and the supermoon (pictures attached) and we hope to stay there again soon.

Perfect for our family of 12!

  • 5 of 5

We feel very fortunate to have found this wonderful vacation rental for our end-of-summer family get-away. As a family of eight adults and four children under the age of five, we were in need of a place that would allow us enough space to accommodate a variety of needs. We were also hoping to find a spot on the beach. This rental provided us with all of that and more. With five bedrooms and a separate bunk room, there were enough beds to accommodate each of the four couples, while the children were quite excited about the opportunity to sleep together in the bunk room with three bunk beds. The layout of the house was perfect with a playroom of toys for the kids to play with while the adults rooted on the Seahawks on one of the two tvs. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare and enjoy meals together. The weather was perfect and allowed us to spend a lot of our time outside on the wonderful, large deck and grass area. The beach area was ideal with a wonderful area to explore when the tide was out and easy access for the canoes we brought with us when the tide was in. There were three hammocks which the children loved. As to the immediate area, we found it ideal for our purposes. The children brought riding toys with them which, with supervision, they rode to the Iverson Spit Waterfront Preserve located at the end of the paved road. There is a large, sandy, beach area there and some short hiking trails behind for further exploration. As might be apparent, we had a great time on this vacation. Matt and Emily were easy to work with and responded in a very timely manner to any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this beach house to anyone looking for a fun get-away.

Great place for 14

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from Matt's beach house and it completely exceeded our expectations. House is perfect, location is second to none. Beach is great for the kids and the changing tides provides endless opportunities. The neighbors are nice and friendly. We caught plenty of crab to eat every night and the seals swimming by at high tide were entertaining. Definitely would recommend and definitely would stay again. We had 8 adults and 6 kids.

Great for a large family gathering

  • 5 of 5

My extended family including 2 toddlers and 2 older kids rented this house. The layout was great and the house was nicely decorated. For a larger family, it worked well - the kids spent a lot of time playing soccer in the yard and exploring the beach. For the little kids, having a selection of toys and books was helpful. The kitchen was well stocked and we found everything we needed to cook meals. There isn't much to do in the immediate area which worked pretty well for us but it was a sleepier area than we anticipated.

Great Beach Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This rental was perfect for our family gathering! The huge deck, patio furniture and yard were wonderful to hang out on. The beach access was such a blast for the kids. The house was perfect for our kids. There were lots of inside toys, sand toys, gear, beach towels etc. The owners were wonderful to work with and extremely accommodating to our needs. I would recommend this house for family gatherings.

Beautiful get-away for families

  • 5 of 5

Even the weather wasn't great - we had an awesome time at this house.

Its well stocked, great bed room layouts with lots of toys, dvd's, sand toys etc for kids to play with.

The property is quiet, with amazing views and location (right on the beach)... there were bald eagles that did flybys literally every hour, and lots of driftwood, crabs etc for kids to play with in the sand/ beach.

I would recommend this immediately for an extended family, or groups of families to get away to....

Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

Fourteen of us - ages 1 1/2 years to 78 years - settled in for a Spring Break get-together. Perfection for all ages!

This was our 2nd stay with our family and it just gets better. The sandy beach and nature preserve are great for good hikes, exploring and beach combing. The home is perfect for everyone with everything you need from toys and TV to a nicely stocked kitchen, comfy beds and very nice linens and that beautiful new deck! Large enough for all to gather. We brought bikes and enjoyed the quiet, safe neighborhood street. We used the fire pit to build a beach fire to roast sausages for lunch. Puzzles, games, it's all available. And Matt was very responsive to all questions throughout the process. Matt & Emily have a lovely home and we have been very happy to be able to share it with our family.
