This home offers the supreme relaxation experience. Whether you are enjoying the views from the four 'en suite' bedrooms or lounging pool side, Villa Amour is the place to enjoy a superior Caribbean experience just 15 minutes from the airport.
The Unique Benefits of this Villa: The villa Is very private, has many one of a kind works of art and sculptures. A lot of time is spent tending to the tropical gardens as it is a labor of love. Being a retired chef, the kitchen is better equipped than most.
Why the Owner Chose Neltjeberg Bay: I didn't buy Villa amour I designed and built it . The area is pristine and unspoiled like the Island used to be.
Owner Description: I'm A 28 year resident of St . Thomas, a retired chef, I now renovate swimming pools and have a landscape company.

A trip to Remember!!!
Left on 10/08/2010 for a stay in June 2005
I went to St. Thomas with 3 friends and our daughters who had just graduated from High School...It was a graduation gift.
Everything about the trip was awesome. Rick was there waiting at the airport to guide us to the villa...we arrived at night and it was quite the experience getting to the villa..I began to wonder where in the world we were going as we made our way down the rough terrain of the mountain,,couldn't believe our eyes when we entered the private gate and saw the villa.
Everything about the place was breathtaking...the furnishings..the decorating...the lighting that gave it almost a magical feel.
We were so excited to get the in the beautiful pool and stayed up late just soaking it all in.
What a joy when we got up the next morning to the most spectacular view I had ever seen.
St. Thomas is a fun beautiful island and we did lots of exploring the sites...but nothing compares to the time we spent enjoying Villa amour...Our hosts were so gracious and fun...we even shared a couple of meals...And they brought us flowers!!!
My family and I spent the holiday week at Villa Amour. When we first stepped through those doors and saw that view, we knew that the money we had spent was well worth it. The views are spectacular and the home's layout is perfect for a family of six. Everyone had a comfortable bedroom with its own bath. The common areas are large, spacious and open to the outdoors -- allowing individuals to enjoy the sun or the evening stars and still be a part of any activity happening on the main floor. There is a television available but we rarely used it. We chose to play games or have animated discussions over scrumptious dinners grilled on the property's grill. The access road from the main road is definitely not for the faint of heart. (A four wheel drive is definitely in order.). But once you have mastered it, you actually look forward to the slow speed it requires. That way, you are able to say hello to the many cows that line the road and admire the views and foliage. To top off the owner's hospitality, my daughter discovered that the box of hiking shoes she had bought in town contained two left shoes! As we were checking out, the owner noticed that we were leaving the shoes. When he discovered why, he took it upon himself to go to that store, get the proper mate AND mail it to my daughter. We had the best time!
This was our first trip to St. Thomas, and boy did we pick the right place! The absolutely stunning views accompanied by this gorgeous, fun, comfy, spacious, and artsy home was something we will never forget. The location is perfect, and all the conveniences are nearby - restaurants, grocery stores, etc. It has everything you could ever need or want in a vacation home. We were 6 adults who swam, bbq'd, played games (they are provided), relaxed, adventured, and enjoyed each other's company. If you are thinking about staying at a resort, you may want to rethink the idea and check out Villa Amour. You won't regret it!
There are really no words to describe how truly breathtaking the views from this incredible home are other than PURE HEAVEN. From the moment you walk in, your senses are swept away... the music was playing, the breeze coming through the open glass wall, the smell of tropical flowers (yes, fresh flowers and tropical plants throughout the villa) and that surreal view of the ocean. This villa is amazing and like the other reviews have already explained, the pictures do not do it justice. We were a group of 6 (3 couples) and spent much of our time in that amazing pool. Waking up every morning and opening up the glass panels to enjoy coffee and breakfast on the lanai was so amazing. Rick was fantastic... meeting us upon our arrival and then walking us through the Villa to make sure we had an enjoyable vacation. Although the owners live on the property, you had no idea they were ever there. And there is great comfort in knowing that Rick was just a text and a few steps away if we needed anything or had questions. The bedrooms were very spacious and the beds & linens were very comfortable. Although only the 2 upstairs bedrooms have AC, you don't really need them... leaving the windows open and using the fans kept the bedrooms cool & comfortable. We dined in all but 2 nights while in the Villa because the gourmet kitchen has everything you could possibly need to prepare meals. The Jacuzzi was a bonus to enjoy in the evening after a long day at the beach. 4-wheel drive is a MUST (preferably a Jeep) to access the house and honestly, a must to travel around the island as well. If you plan on visiting the private beach of Netljeberg Bay (which is just a short drive down from the Villa), again... 4 wheel drive is necessary. We had that beach all to ourselves. We vacation in St. Thomas every year for the past 6 years and have stayed in both condos and private homes, but this one takes the cake. Trust me, it is worth every penny - you won't be disappointed. We are already planning our 2017 vacation and can't wait to stay at Villa Amour again... this time for a few days longer (it's very hard to leave).
we were awed the moment we looked through the large glass wall to the beautiful views around us..like being in our own paradise..the heat the noise the traffic the ride up the mountain all left our minds ...we felt welcomed ..Rick met us at Thirteen and guided us to the house or we would have missed that entrance even after reviewing the map several times..after we settled in and explored the house we were even more impressed with the decor the design and the overall feel of the house..Thank you so much for sharing this bit of paradise..
There are moments in time that stay with you for a lifetime. Moments like a first kiss, your wedding day, the birth of a child or a special anniversary. The first time that you walk into Villa Amour will be another moment in time that will be etched in your memory. The villa has been emaculately kept. The open concept with the breathtaking views of the Carribean sea through huge glass sliding doors leading onto the lanai will leave you speechless. It's a moment in time that will make you stop, release every bit of pressure and stress from the daily grind, and just smile. In fact, I'm still smiling from my trip to Villa Amour.
It is a very large split-level villa and comfortable enough for 4 adult couples or any combination of family members to co-locate without getting in anybody's way. Each bedroom has its own private bath (a real plus). The kitchen is well supplied with dinnerware, flatware and cooking items, if you choose to prepare your own meals. There's even a grill - which worked out great for us. Being from Texas, we are BBQ-crazy and just felt comfortable using the grill. You don't have to prepare your own meals, but everything is there if you want to.
The large pool is sparklingly cool, clean and inviting. The sauna is warm and comfy -- just like slipping into your best baby-soft pajamas. I was worried at first about there only being 2 rooms with air conditioning, but that is not even anything to consider. My husband and I slept in the room without air and didn't feel any discomfort at all. The room has a fan and the breeze off the ocean is great. In fact, I had to use a blanket, the room was so cool. Upstairs, one of the other couples told me they had to turn the air conditioner off. It's not an issue at all and when we arrived it was 90 degree weather.
Rick and Stephen are the perfect hosts. They live on the property, but you will never see them or hear them unless you call for help with something or they can offer suggestions on sightseeing or locations. Rick met us and welcomed us into this beautiful villa and showed us how everything worked. You will sort of miss part of what he says because you will be so mesmerized by the beauty of the house, but he's happy to come back if you need him.
Finally, if I can make a suggestion, you must rent a jeep. You'll be so glad you did. Your spouse or adventurous teens will love the road to the villa. It is indeed exciting. You'll never want to leave Villa Amour.
I don't think this trip would have been the same had we not stayed at Villa Amour. The house was spectacular! Rick was very accommodating. We absolutely LOVED our stay and can't wait to go back😀
