I brought this undeveloped property in La Hueca in 2003 and then began the process of selecting an architect to design the Caribbean house of my dreams. After 6 years of design and construction, Quinta Jabali was completed in 2009. It has incredible views of the Caribbean and the whole south side of the island. It is only 1 mile from Playa Grande and also near Esperanza.
this is by far the best place I've stayed in Vieques, and hopefully will be staying at again many times!
My husband and I have stayed at many nice places and been fortunate enough to have many wonderful vacations, but our stay at Quinta Jabali and the island of Vieques tops every vacation we have ever had. It has set the bar very high as we explore other parts of the world to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in 2016. Every detail was thought of at Quinta Jabali. We enjoyed the house, the pool and the roof top. The house manager, Joey, went to the extra trouble of having some requested groceries at the house when we arrived. Joey also met us at the airport, drove us to the rental company and then took us to the house to explain everything we would need for the week. I can't recommend this rental enough. It is truly a magical, romantic hide-away. An added bonus was having the black sand beach nearby.
This was a spectacular visit. The most romantic getaway in Vieques at a reasonable price. The grounds are wonderfully landscaped. The views are unreal. Best area of the island for those who need a little separation. We were there during Thanksgiving and the storms that blew through were dynamic and awesome to watch. I Can't wait to get back!
As soon as we arrived at the house, my husband and I had to pinch ourselves a few times. The views are simply spectacular! We must have taken hundreds of pictures over the course of our stay. You just have to experience it for yourself. The house is well equipped for heading to all the nearby beaches - beach chairs, coolers, plenty of towels, etc. But we really enjoyed relaxing in and by the beautiful infinity pool each morning. We often used the kitchen to cook our own meals to save some money. The house is conveniently located near the town of Esperanza so it's easy to get to all the bars and restaurants. I have never had such great food and cocktails on an island before. My husband and I were very impressed with the house and the island and can't wait to plan our next trip back!
The Quinta Jabali was an incredible experience and perfect for our honeymoon. The views are spectacular, the gardens are immaculate, and pool is the best I have ever seen. This house has, without a doubt, some of the best views on the island. Michael and Joey were incredibly helpful.
This is a great private spot for a romantic getaway. You can spend the day on at the house and enjoy the views or take a quick 5 minute drive to Esperanza and enjoy the bars and restaurants. We also were only 10 minutes away from the Hix Island House where we took the best yoga class we have ever attended.
While much of our trip was cloudy and rainy (we went during rainy season), we did not let it get us down. We still got great tans sitting on the beautiful, albeit overcast, beaches, enjoyed the bars and restaurants, did yoga, and watched the storms roll across the Caribbean from the covered patio of the Quinta Jabali. I could not imagine a better place to have been in the rain. Of course, rain is a risk that one takes booking travel during the rainy season, and I believe we had an unusual amount of rain and clouds during our stay. If you consider travelling anywhere in PR or the Caribbean during the rainy season, I suggest increasing the length of your stay to increase the likelihood of sunshine.
We are all very fortunate that Michael shares his amazing home with others. He keeps an incredible journal on the coffee table giving guests tips about the island and the history of his house. If you choose to stay here, please treat his home with respect so he continues to let all of us enjoy this amazing treasure.
House is fantastic. Views are unbelievable. The amount of outdoor space is superb. Pool is great. Honestly, there is nothing I would change about this house. Air conditioning in bedroom worked great so it was nice and cool to sleep at night. The beach chairs/coolers/umbrella for the beaches were great. The house manager was very nice and helpful with suggestions for dinner, etc. We ordered dinner in one night from Aquacate, which was reasonable and delicious. We had the Green Man Baker deliver a few breakfast dishes as well. Loved the island and am thankful that you allow people to stay at your house. Thanks again, we had a great time. Barb & Tim
