We have owned on Glazier Beach for 20 years --just four doors down from this cottage. Wonderful 'family' lake for swimming, boating, fishing, skiing, wakeboarding etc. Beautiful nights for campfires and star-gazing and close to everything.

Basic house with beautiful shoreline

  • 4 of 5

Basic amenities without central air or a lot of storage. Did have window cooling but no closet in main bedroom. Had comfortable beds and space for parking multiple cars and a trailer. The shoreline was sandy, had nice dock, we kept our deck boat on the good mooring provided. Neighborhood is quiet, don't need to worry about traffic. The owner of the house was available and returned calls promptly. Loved watching the sunrise, which we prefer over sunsets. Boated or kayak'd every day. The house was 10 minutes from the town of Leelanau, 10 minutes more to Sutton's Bay or Leland, to Traverse City within a half hour. Both catholic churches in area are old, recommend St Mary's in town of Lake Leelanau. Mass at Holy Rosary in Cedar is partially or fully latin depending on what day you go, very traditional.

Would not have wanted to spend days stuck inside the house, but worked well as our headquarters, using the lake and exploring the area during the day.

Traditional Michigan cottage with nice updating

  • 4 of 5

First of all, the cottage felt very clean when we arrived. The cottage is updated and was a great place for our family to spend the week (two children - 3 & 5). We've been vacationing in the area for years, but since our schedule didn't align with any friends or family, needed a house for just us this year. The lake is shallow near the cottage and was perfect for our kids to splash around in. The owners were very easy to contact, flexible with our short notice, and responded to emails quickly.

Traditional cottage feel with all the amenities of home

  • 5 of 5

We had a very pleasant stay in this cozy, clean cottage for a relaxing vacation. The owners have done a great job to assure that everything you need is at hand. The dock was handy for our small fishing boat. However, if you have a larger boat, it doesn't extend far enough to tie up, so you'll have to moor it in deeper waters. The mayflies had just hatched, so the fishing wasn't great, but the view of the lake is so beautiful, and the drive around the west side of the lake is breathtaking that just enjoying the view was enough. Three wineries are within a very short drive, one (Bel Lago) is a decent walk if you are ambitious enough to climb the hill. Chateau Fontaine was our favorite, and definitely try Martha's Table in Suttons Bay. The Northern Distillery is also a good stop in the village of Lake Leelanau, and we always stop into Dick's Pour House for a Plevalean burger. Much has changed since we last stayed in the area, but the lake itself and beautiful views are just the same. Felt like going home!

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at the cottage! Beautifully furnished, everything you need to make it your temporary home. The view of the water was gorgeous. Can't wait to come back next year and stay longer. Didn't want to leave!! neither did our dog!! Margaret was very helpful and made the reservation go smoothly.

Thank you for sharing your home and see you again.

Great vacation

  • 5 of 5

Great location right on the water! The house was the perfect size for us, 3 adults and 2 kids. Also really close to many other fun spots, traverse city, sleeping bear dunes, Lake Michigan. Only issue we had was getting the boat to the dock, it is very shallow.

Donna's fall expirence

  • 5 of 5

This review should be posted after my coming back from the cottage at the end of October 2012. Computer failure,Thanksgiving,Christmas kept me away from doing that.Sorry Owners.

I spent 5 wonderful days over there. The cottage is very clean, very cozy what make me stay put.A sunrise was always spectacular. I cooked a lot because I found everything I needed for cooking, had a glass of wine in cute wine glasses.Every morning I made coffee. The owners provided a coffee and a creme for a start if somebody would forget to bring it.So toughtful.Thank you, I was the one.

The Leland area is very lovely.Besides well known attractions there's a lot side roads with extreme beauty .Driving toward Port Oneida, hiking Pyramid Point Trail was fantastic expirence. The colors of trees brought me to my knees. The hills gave me a feeling of being in mountains.

Wonderful place,wonderful area.Thank you, owners.

Many mistakes? Ya... Sorry, English is my second language.
