Paul and I both grew up on the prairies but love to escape to the mountains to ski whenever we can. Our four daughters are avid skiers and Panorama ski resort has been our favourite for many years.
This home was originally built by Olympian Becky Scott (cross country skiing) because of its proximity to some of the most extensive and beautiful groomed ski trails anywhere to be found. Since buying this property in 2008, our family has come to enjoy Panorama year round with all it has to offer
Lorie Grundy purchased this chalet in 2008
A home away from home. Well equipped, comfortable, and lovely. Quiet surroundings away from the bustle of the main village crowds but close enough to walk down for dinner or to the pools. We take great pride in our home and equip the house with our guests in mind.
We have installed a stair lift, shower seat, toilet rails to enable elderly or handicapped/wheelchair visitors access the house with ease.
Travel cot and high chair for small ones.
We just got back from Panorama and can't say enough good things about this house! It had a perfect layout for our group of 10 (one couple with one kid, one couple with 2 kids, one child-free couple and one single). Everyone had their own bathroom and the beds/bedding were amazing. The hot tub was great after a long day of skiing. It is a round tub, but fit us in two shifts of 5 each! There should probably be a more absorbable mat near the door outside to the hot tub, but we did our best to put a towel down and not to drip much as we came in to dry off. You just need to be careful so you don't wreck the beautiful hardwood floors.
This house was very clean, and had everything we needed to do all of our own meals there. Thanks for having a few extras like cooking oil, spices, etc. It would have been nice to have had a few empty cupboards in which to store our dry goods (chips, cereal, etc), but obviously there was no room for that because each cupboard was super organised with every dish, utensil, and pot/pan you could ever need for cooking/meal prep! We made due by keeping our bins/bags of stuff off to the side in the dining room, or in our rooms, and it would definitely not deter us from renting it again.
Future renters should note that you can buy your lift tickets (or send your spouse lol) at the main village for each day or a number of days at a time, then just park at the golf course parking lot which is just a few minute drive from the house (there's also a ticket machine there but we heard it sometimes is not working). From there, it's a short walk/ski to the Sunbird Chairlift (seemed a bit longer on the way back, towing a 6 year old on skis, though, lol). This avoids the crowds and parking issues at the village and was well worth it to not have to drag the kids around the village area, parking, and getting tickets/gear organized.
Lorie was great to deal with. Very clear instructions/directions, and easy to contact if needed. They have maps and trail books in the house, as well as binoculars for watching nature. We saw rabbits and squirrels, as well as a Marten out the back window while we were there! I bet this place is also amazing in the summer. The kids loved the mini pool table, and the little table hockey game. Okay, the adults did, too! Thanks for the amazing stay. We will try and come back again sometime.
We rented this house twice during the 2016 winter ski season and would definitely rent it again. It was perfect for 2-3 families, with double bunk beds and 3 other rooms. Pictures are accurate, house is just as described. We chose to drive to the golf course parking lot for skiing which was nearly empty, only a couple minute drive. The hot tub was appreciated after a long day of skiing. Lots of games for the kids to play as well. We love skiing at Panorama.
This being the first time booking a trip to Panorama, I was very nervous about finding accommodations for our group of 9 adult skier and snowboarders. I was absolutely blown away with this property. It was perfectly set up for us. Whether you have a group of couples or have kids with you, I would recommend this house over and over. If you ski/snowboard, hike, golf or just want to get away, look no further! Thanks again to the owners for renting us their beautiful house and making our stay more than we could ask for!
This home was perfect for our group of ten adult snowmobilers and skiers. We felt this place described as 'cozy yet spacious' was an accurate way to give a sense of the home. We felt we had room to cook and socialize while still feeling relaxed in a large home with a very cozy feel. It was incredibly clean, well equipped with everything and more we would have expected. Very pleasant owners who do a terrific job in presenting all the information you need for a quick and easy entry and departure. They were accommodating and very quick to respond and answer any questions. The private hot tub was a huge bonus after spending a day on the mountain. Our only regret is not staying longer, we had a fantastic time in Panorama and felt this home attributed to it; we'd love to come back! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay and beautiful home!
This is a very comfortable, very clean home, not just a house. With our group of 8 adults we felt at home from the moment we arrived. Spacious, quiet, with plenty of choices of activities within easy walking or cycling distance. The golf was spectacular as always. Mountain biking, running, walking, hot-tubbing, dining out, or cooking for ourselves, we found the weekend very relaxing and enjoyable. Would recommend this property any time of the year. Owners were very accommodating and all details were laid out for ease of entry, comfortable stay, and ease of departure. Our family loved it.
Awesome! We had an excellent time! Very clean and lots of room! We had 9 people in total. 2 families with kids ranging in age from 18 months to 16 years old. We all had enough space and room to recover from our long days of skiing! Loved the fact there were so many bathrooms especially for teenage girls!! Very clean and the décor was very relaxing! Games and activities for everyone were available! Looking forward to booking sometime in the summer and enjoy Greywolf!
10 + golf courses in the Columbia Valley; white water rafting, horseback riding, mountain bike terrain. Hiking trails up to old abandoned mines as well as Lord Earl Grey's summer cabin.
Winter activities include fabulous down hill skiing, cross country ski trails beautifully groomed and heli-skiing to spectacular untouched slopes.
