Why the Owner Chose Kapaa: We built our cottage from the ground up and put all our love and energy into creating a restful, peaceful home away from home for our family & friends. The location is so central to all the wonderful scenic spots to enjoy on Kauai. The hubbub of Kapaa Town is a short 7 min. drive away, Hanalei Bay is only 45 mins, & Waimea Canyon is only 55 mins. away. And all along the drive north are spectacular lonely beaches that take your breath away. There's a reason Hollywood comes here to film! Kapaatown has the Best Farmer's Market too on Weds and a super fun Artwalk Night on the First Saturday of the month. You won't be disappointed at what Kauai has to offer! We have been living in the Hawaiian islands for over 30 years. After living on Maui for 14 years, we searched and found our beautiful property on Kauai in 1998. The view of Makeleha Waterfalls was too gorgeous to walk away from, so we decided to build our 'DreamHome' here. Fast forward a few years later and we now have our own 'slice of paradise'. We just had to share this great place with our family and friends, so we also built a separate Cottage which we named 'Mana Falls'.
The Hawaiian woman who actually named our street 'Ho`omaha Place' about 35 years ago, told me how she came upon that name. It means 'a place to Rejuvenate or Restore' and that is exactly how it feels to us and everyone who comes to visit. Just seeing the majestic mountains each morning gives me such peace and a sense of renewing my spirit. Meditation comes so easily here!! Hence the name 'Mana Falls' which you may know, is another word for Spirit.
We would welcome the opportunity to share our little island paradise with you and hope you will have a wonderful, spirit-lifting vacation of your dreams.
Michelle & Tony purchased this cottage in 2007

Very close to all the sites to see here. Spend your time enjoying your activity and less time driving to it!!
"Phenomenal Place you 2!!! We loved our stay with you and the ease with which you approach us and your cottage. Your Zen like vibes transcend into a tranquil and welcoming environment and made our stay in Kapaa all the more wonderful. Thank you for making such a lovely place available !"
Thank you Michelle and Tony for having such a nice rental cottage! We enjoyed our week so much and wished we could stay longer. We were so glad we stayed here and not in a hotel! The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation; simple, clean, comfortable accommodation, and being in a quiet neighborhood away from town was a big plus. Thanks for having wifi too, that was vital for us with european phones and no U.S. phone service! And it was so nice to have a kitchen to cook for ourselves instead of having to eat in restaurants. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

Michelle was very attentive and helpful. shes sweet and kind. we really enjoyed this cottage, we would recommend it.
The neighbor hood was very nice for walks. we never did find a bamboo forest or see waterfalls close to house.
And the town is only a nice 10 min or so drive to get supplies.
Very centrally located.
This is a great location to stay if you're looking to head up north. We did a snorkeling tour with North Shore Charters and a massage at Angeline's, both of which were fantastic. There's traffic heading south, but if you take the Kapa'a bypass it's not too bad.
We were only here for 4 nights--I think with a longer stay, we'd appreciate more being able to use the kitchen and the grill. The kitchen has pretty much everything you could need (oven--no; convection oven, microwave and stove--yes). There's no a/c--doesn't matter much, as we really only missed it the first night.
Their neighbor's rooster is definitely an early bird. We discovered that if you close the bedroom windows and bathroom door and put a towel in front of it, he's not loud enough to wake you up. (They have earplugs just in case.)
We had a great time staying at this cottage. The cottage had all the amenities that we needed for cooking our own meals and to be very comfortable. The hosts were happy to recommend things to see and restaurants to eat at. I would recommend this rental to anyone visiting Kauai. It was a very relaxing setting with great views from the house.
The cottage was very comfortable. We were a short distance to town in the quiet countryside, just the kind of holiday we wanted. Although we were not there for the water sports, there was lots to do. Michelle & Tony were very accommodating. And the weather was great! We would recommend it.
My husband and I were able to enjoy this cottage for five nights--I only wish we could stay longer. Michelle & Tony were very hospitable, and provided many great recommendations prior to arriving. While on the property, they provided even more recommendations to make our stay enjoyable. The cottage is located about 10 minutes out of the town of Kappa. A perfect location because it is quiet and serene, but an easy drive to the town for food, shopping & beaches. This was my first VRBO rental, and I was beyond satisfied. I was a bit worried about the roosters, but they were not as annoying as I expected nor did they impact our trip in anyway. I do recommend bug spray as there are mosquitoes, but don't let them stop you from enjoying the beautiful starlit sky. The kitchen was well equipped and we used the grill for our freshly purchased fish. The beach mats and towels were such a perk--as we were in the ocean every day. If you plan on snorkeling a lot, I recommend renting equipment. We appreciated the privacy our cottage had and felt very comfortable in our home for the week. We had no issues/complications whatsoever. I highly recommend this cottage to those who want privacy but want to be close enough to a town or highway for travel. You can get to some great beaches in about a half hour. The price is very reasonable considering the location and all that is included in the accommodation. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Mornings are serene while you relax on our 3/4 acre property where 1000 ft Makaleha Waterfalls cascade down the mountains less than 1/4 mile up the road.
We are only a 1/2 mile walk to a Pristine Bamboo Forest with River Pools to swim in and Waterfall to hike to. You are also close to Beautiful Kealia Beach with Lifeguarded Swimming/Surfing and our new 14 mile Bike/Walking Path that can take you to Wailua Beach and beyond while watching Whales pass by. Other hiking trails and adventures are all around and easily accessible.
Kapaa Town with restaurants, nightlife, shopping, farmers markets, and other activities are also 4 miles away. Hopefully you'll be here on a First Saturday of every Month for our Artwalk/Street Festival Nite! Hanalei Bay and Na Pali Trail is about a 45 min. drive away. Waimea Canyon is also a 55 min drive. Lihue Airport is a 25 min. drive away.
Other Activities: shelling on many nearby beaches, kayaking on ocean & rivers, boating & deepsea fishing, surfing, wildlife viewing, and lots of wonderful spas nearby, too, that I can personally recommend!
Helicopter & Snorkel/Dive/Sunset Cruises are all a very memorable way to see our island and enjoy the wildlife we have here. NO Lions, Tigers, Snakes or Bears here :))
