Thank you so much for welcoming us into your cabin. There was plenty of room for the whole family to relax and play. The kids enjoyed using the loft space for games and puzzles. We all enjoyed the views from the balconies, playing in the waterfalls by Mirror Lake, and tubing on the French Broad River. We also loved being so close to Chimney Rock. Thank you again for sharing your comfortable home with us.

The stress starting melting away as soon as we pulled into the driveway.
I just liked the full kitchen and the views from the back porch...and the fireplaces on both levels. The views of the Rumbling Bald (Party Rock) fire were spectacular at night...but I hope no one else gets to see this. It's a shame the mountain side is burning.
The night sky out here is amazing...
The property was clean and clear. The cabin clean and well furnished. The Big Bear greeter at the front door gave Bear Hug a welcome feeling. The views from the porches are outstanding with an excellent view of Chimney Rock and the surrounding hills. The lake for swimming and canoeing is beautiful and kids would, weather permitting, enjoy tubing on the water flow. Over all an excellent stay,
Previously stayed a week in this cabin in August 2013.
The cabin is immaculate and cozy, very well maintained and lovely. The views are wonderful and there is such an immediate sense of peace and tranquility when staying at Bear Hug. The kitchen is well stocked and spectacular, there are two fire places, plenty of games and books, and a wonderful front porch and deck. In the summer time, there is a new picnic table and grill for cooking out. Would definitely return again and again.
Disappointing arrival. Difficult to find and upon arrival, deck was in disarray with shavings and ladders all over decks and yard. There was no picnic table or area as promised in the description and the cabin was not as clean as we had expected. Also outdoor spotlights were not working which made dealing with the dogs at night rather challenging. Area for the dogs was not completely mowed so area was small for play. Reported problems to the rental agent and ladders were moved but outdoor lights never worked! On the good side, once we settled it was a cozy bright cabin, very comfortable with a terrific kitchen for cooking! So we had a good time but wish the owners would be more involved with rental agent as to the present for arriving guests. Also recommend more chairs for the deck and table(s) to set your coffee or wine on!!
This log cabin is perfect for a family get-away. The kitchen is well supplied, there is plenty of room for sleeping, and the two full baths were nice after a long day of hiking.
The house is built on a hill so looking out the back windows feels like being in a tree house.
We enjoyed exploring the area. Hiking at nearby Chimney Rock State Park was spectacular. We found other hiking spots nearby and also walked on the roads near the cabin. The river edge park in Chimney Rock was a nice place to rest and relax to the sound of rushing water.
Lake Luke is beautiful -- no wonder this is one of the most popular lakes in North Carolina.
Thanks for letting us share your cabin. The kids will always remember the fun we had there.
