The sun-filled granite kitchen gleams with enchanting views of the Bay and the Jamestown Bridge, from its floor-to-ceiling bay window and glass sliders, opening to the home’s generous waterside entertainment deck. Spanning the entire width of the home, the deck allows endless enjoyment of the refreshing sea air, the soothing sounds of the waves lapping on the shore and the endless parade of sailing boats, just beyond your mooring. Watch the kids play on the beach and dig quahogs, while you enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

The spacious living room, with its wood-burning fireplace, overlooks the Bay as well, while the master bedroom suite, with its cathedral ceiling, cozy fireplace and private balcony, offers a relaxing retreat. A finished walk-out lower level just steps to the beach and a private mooring, round out the amenities of this charming home by the sea, nestled within one of Narragansett Bay's most desirable island communities.

The added bonus feature to this home is the spacious, downstairs living room, with a full sized summer kitchen which opens to the patio ground level, with two sliding glass doors. This is the recreation area, perfect for kids, with PS3, TV/Blu-ray and games galore, while parents entertain upstairs. The house is completely equipped with anything you could ask for! TV, Blu-ray, board games, books, WiFi, beach chairs and towels, with the beach right in your backyard. Bring your kayak and explore the coast.

No daily housekeeping provided. We do provide cleaning and laundry products. Pillows, blankets, sheets, comforters & towels are supplied by owner. The cleaning fee is included, however if the property is not left in an acceptable condition, an additional cleaning fee will be assessed against your damage deposit. Remember, we are a NON-smoking property. You may smoke outside, but please dispose of all cigarettes properly in the trash. If the house interior smells of smoke, your damage deposit will not be refunded. If any question, feel free to call or email us.

Please note that rentals during June, July, August, and September run Saturday PM to Saturday AM.

About Jon

My wife and I are avid adventure travelers, who like to explore new countries and cultures. We have grown up and been around water all of our lives. Having settled in the upstate NY Albany area, we enjoy skiing in the winter and the local lakes in the summer, but missed the open water. Getting a place on the water in Jamestown has been wonderful! There is much to explore and do on the island, and it's only a short hop over the bridge to all the bustle and activity in Newport.

Jon has retired from a long career in commercial building services and now focuses on finding, renovating and operating choice vacation rental properties in Jamestown. Jon continues to sail and race competitively when he can.

Mary Ellen continues her passion of leading STRIDE Adaptive Sports, a non-profit organization she founded as an outgrowth of her teaching career, providing sports and recreational activities for youth and Wounded Warriors with disabilities. www.STRIDE.org

Jon purchased this house in 2010

Why Jon chose Jamestown (Conanicut Island)

We love the Jamestown/Newport area. There is great sailing, biking, diving/snorkeling, and beaches. We enjoy the activities and sights of Newport with the more relaxed atmosphere of Jamestown island.

What makes this house unique

Sunsets and cocktails on the deck watching the boats sail by. Direct beach access. Laying in bed at night and listening to the waves on the beach outside your window.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. It was an absolute joy to be able to stay here while visiting my son in Providence. The view of the bay is amazing! Your home was perfect for our needs, everyone was very comfortable. Again, thank you and I hope to be able to rent your home again in the future.

Another wonderful week at the Seaside home

  • 5 of 5

We just spent another great week at this Seaside Home. This is the third time that we have rented it, and will definitely be going back. The great location, with the wonderful view of the Bay, is difficult to match. The house is very comfortable, and it is a great place to enjoy the company of friends and children. This time our kids were around, and we enjoyed everything the house had to offer. We were only a few steps away from the water and we enjoyed kayaking and swimming, and the great sunsets sitting around the fire pit. Jonathan is always helpful, and has been most welcoming. We strongly recommend this beautiful home, if you enjoy the tranquility and the beauty of being close to the Sea.

Wonderful house and amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this fabulous house for 2 weeks. The view was amazing and the house was clean, updated and spacious enough for 2 families. The house had everything you would need to live comfortably and enjoy the beach. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet. We were very lucky and only had a couple of not-so-nice beach days so we headed to Newport which was only a few minutes away.

The yard and fire pit were wonderful to enjoy in the evenings and the sunset from the deck was spectacular!

We would absolutely stay again and if we could give this house more than 5 starts we would! Great spot!

Nice relaxing property with a great view!

  • 5 of 5

Pulled up to the house on Saturday, and it was in perfect condition for us to enjoy the week. The owner was even nice enough to get the cleaners in a bit early so that we could enjoy an earlier start to the 4th of July. Everything was fairly turn key, from brochures and activity lists for things to do in the area to directions as to how to use each television. We spent our mornings enjoying coffee on the deck, days at the local beaches, early evenings enjoying some great restaurants, and late nights next to the fire pit overlooking the water.

The location is a quiet escape from the traffic and caos that Newport brings during the summer, but close enough to get in, enjoy, and get out. Perfect location for families with young kids.

If I had to find a negative, it would be that the weather happened to be extremely humid, so it was a bit warmer than I would of liked in the house. The ocean breezes and plenty of overhead fans helped to alleviate the heat, but not for a person like me who keeps his house at 65 degrees, so my expectations may have been a bit too high. All in all, would highly recommend this property.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. We find Jamestown to be a great quiet escape from Newport - A Bridge Apart, A World Away. It was unusually hot and humid that week. Fortunately the breeze off the water is cooler and with the ceiling fans on and the windows open you can still hear the waves and boats on the water.

A Rhode Island/South County gem...

  • 5 of 5

This was my family's third year staying at this lovely Jamestown home. I grew up in Rhode Island and have rented all over New England (Cape Cod , etc) and this location just draws us back..Lovely, bright and airy home with a deck (with outside dining table where we had EVERY meal) and a beautiful lawn fully in view of the Western Passage of Narragansett Bay (stunning sunset every night). Sail and motor, ferries and fishermen..this is a location that you just don't tire of. I always "look around" at other rentals, but have not found anything comparable..Owners are low-key but helpful and responsive..I think anyone would enjoy it...
