We relaxed like curled up kittens, we played like children, we slept like logs, we ate like pigs. And we played in the river. We enjoyed the peaceful setting. Even the deer were nearby.
Cool mornings and late evenings along with solitude and a beautiful setting the Salmon Fry Cabin is a great experience. If you are a running and road biking enthusiast this is a great setting. Mornings are great for runs in the cool air with a gorgeous setting and the scent of pine trees. Good highways for road biking. Cabin has everything you could possibly need and very spacious and clean. Good area also for fishing. Missoula is about 20-25 minutes away if you need to go into the city. Check out The Keep Restaurant for a good meal and view from up high.
Great experience with this cabin and the owner. Very pleasant, organized, and easy to deal with. Cabin was great and worked well for me and a friend. Well appointed and well stocked. 9 mile creek behind cabin provided hours of fun and some good fish. Missoula, airport, and many larger rivers all an easy drive. Highly recommend-
My wife and I travel to the Missoula area every year to get away and do some fishing. We love our trips there and our week in the Salmon Fry cabin made it even better. It's a beautiful cabin with a creek behind it where we caught several fish. It was by far the best furnished cabin as far as pot, pans and appliances go, we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend the cabin to anyone wanting a secluded get away.
My husband and I went for a 5 day trip. The cabin is located about 20 min from Missoula. It is beautiful, located on a good size private lot. The creek behind the cabin is wonderful, and I spent quite a few hours just sitting next to it reading a book. We went on a fabulous hike in Lolo National forest to heart lake, which took about an hour to get there. There is closer hiking at Kreis pond, just up the road about 30 min as well. The cabin was very clean, quiet, and fully stocked. We went shopping the first day in Missoula and were fully equipped to cook. The street it is located on was a bit busier than I had expected, but the traffic dies down at night. The owners were very responsive. We will definitely be back with the whole family next time. Montana is amazing (at least in the summer!)
What a really excellent retreat! 4 or us travelled to The Salmon Fry in September on a 10 day trip throughout Montana. Chris and Susan were the very best of hosts - the cabin was clean, well-appointed, lots of pots, pans and cooking supplies, and the security deposit arrived the day after we arrived home. Easy access to the Clark Fork made this a perfect location. I would definitely recommend this place to all of my friends. Thank you Chris and Susan.
