With two locations in the heart of Historic Downtown McMinnville, choose from eleven uniquely inspired flats, all perched above local wineries, acclaimed restaurants and eclectic boutiques. Whether you have a taste for french-country chic or mid-century modern, each of our eleven flats has an eye for design and an emphasis on comfort. Featuring local art and products throughout, a stay at 3rd Street Flats is a true taste of Oregon. When you get upstairs to your flat, you'll find a complimentary bottle of our own locally made 3rd Street Flats pinot noir and Sea Salt Caramels from Honest Chocolates (made just downstairs in our Odd Fellows Lodge location) waiting for you.
With flats that can accommodate up to six people, it’s easy to plan a romantic stay for two or an adventure with a group. Shop our local farmer’s market and prepare our local bounty for yourself, or wander downstairs to peruse your choices in one of America’s top ‘foodie’ destinations.

Be sure to stay on Thursdays in the summer, when a local Farmer's Market floods the street below our four flats in the Historic McMinnville Bank.
We also offer a 10% discount on stays of a week or more in all of our flats, so settle in and get comfortable. You'll love staying at 3rd Street Flats!
Erin Stephenson and Brian Shea are avid travelers. They have loved experiencing Europe by staying in historic apartments. From Poland to Portugal and many places in between, we have rented apartments on a nightly basis and LOVED the independence, and the feeling that we were a part of the community, rather than a mere observer. We decided that we wanted to bring this style of accommodations to downtown McMinnville, and allow tourists in our own community enjoy travel the way we do, through a mixture of independence and hospitality.
Erin Stephenson & Brian Shea purchased this apartment in 2010
We decided to start 3rd Street Flats to help give tourist a truly local experience--to allow them to live life in Downtown McMinnville like a local, experiencing the best that the Willamette Valley has to offer.
Location, location, location.
"This place is beautiful! Having our wedding photos in this room and being able to stay here our first night as husband and wife was incredible. Thank you for your efforts in making that happen!"
A group of us stayed in the 5th and 6th flats in Oddfellows Lodge for a local wedding. We couldn't have asked for anything more - the spaces were clean, well-stocked, comfortable, and very stylishly decorated. We are already talking about going back again! The area has so much to offer within walking distance, especially Red Fox Bakery around the corner and Crescent Cafe across the street. Everything about our stay was wonderful, but make sure to bring your own toiletries, including soap.
Wonderful location. Close to amazing drinks and dining. The flat was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Would defiantly stay here again.
The place is clean, beautiful and exactly what the images show. From the moment we picked up our keys until we checked out we were extremely pleased with this property. The rooms do get a bit warm at night but there are fans in the rooms. Highly recommend it. Will come back!1
I had the pleasure of using the 4th Flat for a small gathering this past week-end. It could not have been more perfect. The locations is great. The Flat is beautiful. The layout is so comfortable. McMinnville is so fun and welcoming. It had everything we needed. The Flat was a clean, cute and relaxing little get away in the middle of town.
We stayed overnight in the first flat which is a one bedroom unit. It was totally a surprise to find such a unique accommodation in this small old town atmosphere. We had shopping, good eats, and the wine country close at hand. Our flat was very clean, well appointed, equipped with anything we needed for either cooking in or enjoying something we purchased at one of the many quality restaurants within walking distance.
I have to say I was wowed with Third Street Flats! Being a Yamhill County native now living in the Bay Area, it is so great to have a place like the Flats to call home when back visiting. My girlfriend and I recently stayed in the 4th Flat and couldn't have been happier with our experience. It recalled my times renting apartments in town centers throughout Europe but with wine country flair.
The flat itself was great. So great, we were really disappointed that we only could stay one night (full beautiful kitchen, wine bar, huge flat screen TV, fireplace...c'mon!). The building is historic and the decor really brings out the beauty of the architecture while also being modern and practical. This was a place that I would be ecstatic to call my own apartment, of course I could never do as nice a job decorating as the designers!
While the flat was fantastic and you could spend your entire time lounging and ordering room service from the excellent Spanish place downstairs, for me the best thing about Third Street Flats is the location. Being from the area I always lamented that there wasn't a great option for staying downtown and being able to walk to all the restaurants, bars, and shops on Third Street (try finding a cab late in McMinnville and you'll know why this is important). The Hotel Oregon is okay...if you want a bar scene and sharing a bathroom. But if you want to stay in a place that is truly special, connected to the community, and have your own space to relax, all at a really reasonable price you honestly can't beat Third Street Flats. I know I will recommend it to anybody that is interested in going to Oregon Wine Country.
3rd Street Flats has two locations in the heart of Historic Downtown McMinnville, just three blocks from one another in what is easily the two best locations in Oregon's wine country. In 2010 we renovated four flats in the Historic McMinnville Bank, and in 2014 renovated seven more flats in the Odd Fellows Lodge. Both locations are in easy walking distance of 13 wineries, three craft brewers, a plethora of bars, award winning restaurants and fabulous boutiques.
There are 200 wineries within a 20 minute drive in any direction of 3rd Street Flats two Historic Downtown McMinnville locations, making it impossible to visit them all without a VERY extended stay. Downtown McMinnville has fun festivals throughout the year. June through October there is a Farmer's Market on Thursdays on the street below the flats at the Historic McMinnville Bank location.
