A Great Escape!

  • 5 of 5

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cottage on Craig! What a beautiful, peaceful place to unwind on vacation! We had everything we needed for the perfect stay in the woods and on the creek. We all enjoyed fishing, canoeing and kayaking on the crystal clear water. We had s'mores every evening over the campfire. It was an ideal vacation to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and slow down to appreciate the time we had in this special place! Thank you Mitch & Bobbie for sharing your cottage with us & we will be back!

Amazing Place!!

  • 5 of 5

I was searching for a nice cabin to celebrate our pre-anniversary. We were really happy when we find this amazing place! Not only the place but Mitch and Bobbie are really nice, watch out for their free mouth watering pecan pie! Very nice couple and hospitable. We mostly ate outside and had to grill and had some smores during the evening. In the morning and afternoon we kayak through the creek, which has a steady stream and enjoyed the nature while we were fishing. I think the best part of our trip here is sleeping in front of the glass door and waking up in front of the nature.. It was so cozy and relaxing. If you are looking for a getaway, cozy, nice, quiet and with a gorgeous view you find the right place. This place is also stacked with all you need, from utensils, cooking ware, and personal needs like bug spray, wipes etc.

Great cabin with everything you could possibly want for an amazing vacation

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cabin with five friends for an extended weekend. We had packed plenty of camping equipment and other supplies, but not of it was needed, as Mitch & Bobbie keep their cabin stocked with everything you could need. The canoe/kayaks were great for sightseeing and attempting the (very small) rapids on Craig's Creek - we even found a rope-swing in the water about a mile upstream! The cabin had plenty of room, the bathrooms were nice and well-stocked, the kitchen was ideal, and the yard and campfire were everything we could want. I definitely recommend this place, and hope to return sometime soon.

Blessed to Enjoy the Best!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a weekend at the cottage and enjoyed it immensely! The Cottage on Craig has everything you could possibly want - you only need to bring your clothing and food - everything else is there! It is such a cozy, quiet place with a gorgeous view. Looking out at the display of stars in the night sky from the porch bedroom was the best! Mitch and Bobbie are so friendly and welcoming, and they left us the most delicious cookies! The weather was perfect for our weekend get-away, but staying at this cottage has made us look forward to going back there for a much longer stay! There is so much to do - hiking, trails, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, corn hole, grilling, relaxing in the hammock, sitting by the big fire pit, board games, TV, etc...and inside the cottage is very comfy and super clean in every room. I can't say enough about this lovely place!

Back to Nature - Perfectly!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed relaxing for Spring Break at this comfortable cabin. Everything we could have wanted or needed was supplied: wood for the firepit, ingredients for S'Mores, bug spray, binoculars, Keurig for coffee, laundry detergent, linens, etc. It was like spending the week at a friend's fully stocked cabin. This is not a "sterile" rental with just furniture provided.

We loved the sleeping porch and the beautiful views of the creek and surrounding woods. This was back to nature at it's best... hiking on property and surrounding areas (don't miss Roaring Run), kayaking/canoeing on Craig Creek, fishing, and enjoying the fire pit each night. It's hard to say who had more fun... our teenagers or our 2 dogs. We had great weather and stayed outside all week. Our Labs must have fetched 100 sticks in the creek.

The cabin also has a TV with Direct TV, a DVD player, and WiFi. Although we didn't use any of these very much, it was nice to have them available.

We had a nice 1/2 day trip to Natural Bridge and Lexington, VA one day and we went into W.VA to see the Greenbrier Resort and Lost Caverns another day. We also found Jack Mason's Tavern in Clifton Forge for a terrific dinner one night.

Mitch and Bobbie were terrific in every way and Bobbie's chocolate chip cookies were "the best ever" according to my expert teens. We are looking forward to returning to the cabin in the future.

Amazingly beautiful

  • 5 of 5

my friends and I stayed at Cottage Craig for a long weekend- We could not find a better place to spend a weekend than this cozy, charming and beautiful cottage. Mitch and Bobbie were so welcoming and lovely. They welcomed us and made sure to go over everything we needed to know including the beautiful trails. Sitting by the fire pit and watching the beautiful stars was the highlight of our stay. The front lake was amazing and the cabin was cozy and had everything you can think of. It was just the perfect getaway. We enjoyed so much that we are already planning a trip back in the Summer. Thank you so much Bobbie and Mitch- you are amazing. Best-Wafaa
