Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Original 2 bedroom log cabin on the Ausable River. This charming log cabin is located on Hulls Falls Road, a quiet back road, that is picturesque perfect. You will find some of the area's best swimming, scenery, and fly fishing at your fingertips.

The cabin has a beautiful river rock fireplace in the spacious living room which makes for a great meeting room for games, conversation, and relaxation. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and one shared bath with a walk-in shower. The living room also has 1 fold out futon.

The kitchen boasts authenticity with a unique antler light fixture, exposed beams, all wrapped in natural wood. Everything you might need for preparing your own meals is stored away in the abundant kitchen cabinets. Two coffee makers, a microwave, mixer, blender, wine glasses, etc., it is all there for your use.

The lush outdoors invites you to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds while sitting on the detached deck overlooking the river. There is plenty of room for setting up your volleyball or badmitton net, or throw a few frisbies around on the open playground next to the river. An open firepit is great for long summer evening conversations or roasting marshmallows with the kids.

About The Owner

This property has been in the family for over 20 years. I recently purchased it from other family members as it is a favorite of mine when visiting the area. Having lived in Alaska for over 40 years, I love the great outdoors and this property rivals much of what we see and love in Alaska. Its' proximity to Lake Placid makes it ideal for those wanting to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, and other amenities Lake Placid has to offer. Its' location makes it ideal for the nature lover.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010

Why The Owner chose Whiteface Mountain

We love the old time feeling of the cabin, but love having the wireless interenet and the cable TV to keep us up-to-date.

What makes this cabin unique

The roar of the cascading water in the river is music to the ear. The beauty of the trees, foilage, and river is mesmerizing. The long walks along Hulls Falls Road are food for the soul and the body.

Loved the location and amenities

  • 5 of 5

We loved the place, the location was beautiful and the house came fully stocked with everything we needed.

The mattress in the middle bedroom may need updating - that could be us nitpicking.

We tried calling the keane garbage dept to find out where to dispose of the trash, but no one answered, so we had to drop off our trash at a gas station. Maybe provide an address in addition to the phone number for trash dropoff.

Otherwise we highly recommend staying here.

Thanks!!!

A charming original rustic Adirondack log cabin with a kitchen addition to the original cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this cabin located in the breathtaking High Peaks area. The main room with fireplace is much larger than one would expect from pictures of the outside on this site. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked with everything one could possibly need. All of the cabin furnishings on the walls, the lamps and even the pillows create an outdoor theme that reminds you that you are in the mountains. We enjoyed evenings around the firepit and listening to the river across the road at night from the front bedroom. We definitely hope to return again someday. Thank you, Bob for our stay!

Perfect Adirondack Retreat!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin. The pictures don't do it's adorable charm and quirks any justice. The owner had good lines of communication and was very kind and informative through the booking. We brought our pups and used this as our home base to do some high peaks hiking! We are already looking forward to the peace and fun that our next booking here will bring us!

Lovely location, cute cabin.

  • 5 of 5

A very cute, well equipped cabin. Location is wonderful. The bedrooms and bathroom are tight quarters so not appropriate for people who don't know or are not very comfortable with each other. Bathroom access is through the bedrooms. Excellent eat in kitchen with everything needed for meal preparation. Large living room with a lovely fireplace and 2 big couches. Great fire pit. River noise is soothing, although access is not available for the physically challenged. My husband 16yr old son, our dog & myself had a wonderful week. Thank you.

Awesome location

  • 5 of 5

Located on a quiet road and is an easy drive to many hiking locations, which was the main reason we were there. Lake Placid is also an easy drive. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.
