Keene Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Original 2 bedroom log cabin on the Ausable River. This charming log cabin is located on Hulls Falls Road, a quiet back road, that is picturesque perfect. You will find some of the area's best swimming, scenery, and fly fishing at your fingertips.

The cabin has a beautiful river rock fireplace in the spacious living room which makes for a great meeting room for games, conversation, and relaxation. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and one shared bath with a walk-in shower. The living room also has 1 fold out futon.

The kitchen boasts authenticity with a unique antler light fixture, exposed beams, all wrapped in natural wood. Everything you might need for preparing your own meals is stored away in the abundant kitchen cabinets. Two coffee makers, a microwave, mixer, blender, wine glasses, etc., it is all there for your use.

The lush outdoors invites you to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds while sitting on the detached deck overlooking the river. There is plenty of room for setting up your volleyball or badmitton net, or throw a few frisbies around on the open playground next to the river. An open firepit is great for long summer evening conversations or roasting marshmallows with the kids.

About The Owner

This property has been in the family for over 20 years. I recently purchased it from other family members as it is a favorite of mine when visiting the area. Having lived in Alaska for over 40 years, I love the great outdoors and this property rivals much of what we see and love in Alaska. Its' proximity to Lake Placid makes it ideal for those wanting to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, and other amenities Lake Placid has to offer. Its' location makes it ideal for the nature lover.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010

Why The Owner chose Whiteface Mountain

We love the old time feeling of the cabin, but love having the wireless interenet and the cable TV to keep us up-to-date.

What makes this cabin unique

The roar of the cascading water in the river is music to the ear. The beauty of the trees, foilage, and river is mesmerizing. The long walks along Hulls Falls Road are food for the soul and the body.

Comfortable quiet cabin in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

I spent a week here in July 2016 with my daughter shuttling her daily to Lake Placid for hockey camp - 20 minutes away. We loved the cabin - very comfortable and surprisingly well-stocked. A homey living room, wifi and cable, linens and a full kitchen made the place very livable. It's on a very quiet road right next to the Ausable River and a short drive/walk/bike ride to Keene for dinner and supplies. We look forward to staying here again.

Some items to be aware of:

- it's a cabin so don't expect a large luxury bathroom

- it's upstate NY so don't expect air conditioning (though there is ample heat!)

- it's remote so be prepared to pack your own garbage out

- it's in a beautiful spot so be sad when it's time to leave

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin exceeded my expectations. The quiet setting, the river, the views, amazing. The key was not in the keybox when we arrived. We had no cell service. We drove to Stewarts gas station to see if we could get service, no luck! But they did have a payphone. Let a message for Paul that we would meet him at the cabin. He had arrived before we did. The cleaning lady came by later to check on us. She had taken the key because the previous renters didn't want to leave. I completely understand why! We will definitely come back!

A perfect Adirondack getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was such a great place to stay! My husband and I and our 2 dogs used this cabin as a hikers retreat and it couldn't have been more perfect! It was nice to come "home" and relax after a long day in the peaks! It had everything we needed including the ausable river right across the road! We will definitely be making arrangements again! Thank you!

Peaceful and Secluded Get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for what I needed. A private retreat from the daily hassles of my busy life. Having the dock on the river across the street was a nice surprise. It was great to sit on the dock and listen to the water run by. We made good use of the fire pit and relaxed. The bed was comfortable and the place was well stocked and clean. I highly recommend this treasure!

Perfect Weekend Abode

  • 5 of 5

This snug little abode made our weekend a memorable one during out Adirondack adventure in the spring. Having a kitchen to cook some delicious food in, a river to freshen up our tired bodies with a crisp dip, and a cozy fire out front to laugh and sip drinks at, and a soft bed to rest our bodies in set us up for an ambitious and adventurous second day in the 'dacks. After racing our mountain bikes 62 miles in the pouring rain, we came back to a nice hot shower and a warm, relaxing movie to unwind and recount the day's adventure to. We will absolutely be back for more adventures, and thank you for sharing your lovely space with us!

Great location, cozy cabin

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed at Bob's cabin for the weekend, and it was the perfect retreat. If you are big into hiking, there is no shortage of trails, as the cabin is surrounded by the High Peaks mountains. It's also located in the cute town of Keene, which has a few cute hippish shops and friendly locals to give you tips. The photos accurately depict the space and it felt very cozy, especially if you use the fireplace. Lastly, the Ausable river is right across the street and is perfect for star gazing at night. I'd stay here again!
