Mora is a small town of 3,100 people 60-80 miles north of the Twin Cities with much to offer. Throughout the year, Mora hosts the 'Mora Classic Series' consisting of a spring canoe race on the Snake River, summer 5K & half-marathon, fall bicycle tour of 25 or 50 miles, and the world-renowned Vasaloppet Classic consisting of 13K, 35K, 42K & 58K races that draw international skiers and spectators. The summer is full of county fairs, farmers' markets, Crazy Days and plenty of other enjoyable activies. During the winter there are numerous snowmobile trails, ski trials and abundant lakes for ice fishing awaiting your arrival.
Many people describe the cabin as cozy and comfortable. From the moment you enter your getaway, you will feel the warmth and opportunity to unwind and relax.
My Review: This cabin is a must enjoy get-away . It has the 3'C's- cozy, comfortable and clean. We sat on the dock and fished, enjoyed the lake and watched a sunset that evening that was splended. (And no mosquitoes!!!)It has more amenities than a hotel room and much more affordable. We would recommend this cabin for a quiet get-away with some rest and relaxation.
I would recommend this cabin for Adventure Seekers, Age 55+,Girls Get-away,Romantic Get-away
We truly enjoyed our weekend at Peace of Pine. Canoeing, riding on the pontoon, camp fires, morning coffee in the screened in end of the attached garage facing the lake... Perfect in every way! So clean and comfortable. Nicely decorated! Very peaceful. We had read a review about mosquitoes so we brought our screen gazebo and set it up by the lake for evening sitting by the lake.
We were at Peace of Pine for about 45 minutes and all four of us decided we were coming back. The entire experience was awesome. It was very peaceful, well kept, and very well thought out. The electric powered pontoon boat was great - there is no motor noise so we brought an ipod with a small Bluetooth speaker on board with us that made cruising the lake even more fun. The property owner was very pleasant and informative.
This is by far the most peaceful vacation we have ever had. The lake is small but perfectly quiet. We fished off the dock and the pontoon (which, by the way is the greatest thing ever!). The cabin is very neat and clean. Plus Lisa goes the extra mile to have everything you need. She even has a basket of goodies for you to enjoy. We really enjoyed our stay and will return again!
For our third annual visit to Peace of Pine, our first day was preceded by area flooding. The dock was covered over with water and a massive tree from the property had fallen into the lake, but Lisa made certain that our stay was just as enjoyable as in previous visits.
One of the things we like so much is the familiarity of this cabin--knowing where everything is and knowing that the property is prepared well, clean and ready for our stay. The lake is lovely and we so enjoy the use of the pontoon that is part of the package at Peace of Pine. The treats that the owner welcomes us with are always appreciated. We cannot say enough about our choice in this property, which is why we keep returning year after year.
The owner, Lisa, did not miss a beat presenting a perfect quiet cabin experience. She surely knows what she is doing. There wasn't a single thing you could have asked for in accommodation and comfort. Heck, if you didn't get there with food, she's got the place graciously stocked with gift goodies that would surely tide you over until you got to Mora to get some groceries! All you need is your toothbrush and swimsuit the first day! When others speak of how clean it is, that's an understatement. It's meticulous! I know it's not always easy to keep the cobwebs down at a lake home and she surely does, inside and out; everything neat as a pin. The bed and linens were comfy and clean, the wi-fi worked well enough to watch some Netflix on the iPad late at night (during mosquito hours), and the air-conditioning came in handy one hot humid day. The lake was peaceful and clean, very quiet. The boats were fun and the sun shined - what more did we need? Also, Mora is a great little town. We will definitely be back for a visit. Bring extra mosquito spray in July, they were ferocious, and yet, Lisa also had some available spare spray handy in the garage for us. Bravo! It's been more than a week since our visit, and we're still telling our friends about the great experience we had.
We were looking for a quiet little spot on water to celebrate our anniversary and we found it. If you are looking for a quiet, cozy, rustic and relaxing getaway with a great view on a little lake, this is perfect! My favorite part was the use of the mini pontoon (included with the reservation). The lake is small and very quiet. Lisa was wonderful to work with and quick to respond. Highly recommend for a cabin-on-a-lake getaway!
