Steve purchased this chalet in 1998
Haus Cronov is bright, cozy, comfortable, well stocked and provides a wonderful home-away-from-home atmosphere. It is set up so that everyone enjoys privacy yet also togetherness since all rooms are spacious and comfortable. The gas fireplace turns on at a flick of a switch, the atmosphere created underscores the cozy, bright friendliness of Haus Cronov.
The yard is huge, with a flat grassy area approx. 1 acre large, swing, firepit and forest area so that all outdoor summer and winter wishes can be fulfilled. In the forest the kids can play on huge ice-age rock. A small hill creates a great sledding area in winter.
This is a wonderful chalet. Everything in the description was accurate. This was the best house we have ever rented. We hope to rent here again.
Haus Cronov is a treasure!!! My husband and I enjoyed our first summertime stay in the Adirondacks very much with our two adult children who also thoroughly enjoyed their stay on Loon Lake!! The chalet is spacious, well-equipped and maintained. All the windows and views are grand!!! Haus Cronov is located in a beautiful community with two private beaches on a very clean sandy-bottomed lake. We loved being surrounded by the aroma of pine wherever we went, especially in our very favorite spot, the PORCH!!! Loon Lake is very centrally located!! Chestertown is very nearby with a good supermarket, restaurants, and an excellent Farmers Market on Wednesdays. The quaint Main St. Ice Cream Parlor is absolutely top notch!!! We also recommend the Silver Star Restaurant and Fredricks Restaurant, both on Route 8 in Chestertown. Bolton"s Landing and the famous Sagamore Hotel is only 20 minutes away! History buffs may want to travel 45 minutes to Fort Ticonderoga for a very pleasant day! Lilt was very helpful and the rental process was very smooth from beginning to end. We definitely hope to return again soon.
We stayed at this beautiful cabin for 1 week during the summer...3 adults and 3 kids. We had plenty of room! It was very comfortable and was stocked well with just about anything you will need (including most condiments and spices and great games!). Very short walk to 2 beautiful beaches with pristine cool water. The owners and Lilt were a pleasure to work with. Would definitely recommend this cabin to others! Great price for a great place!
My family and I spent a week at this chalet. It is just as described, well stocked with everything you need and walking distance to the lovely private beach. The neighbors are very friendly, including the care taker of the house. The house has a screened in porch which is important for that area as many bugs at night. My 3 and 5 year old boys loved the house and the beach and it's also pretty close to Lake George Town (20 mins drive). The owners are not living in the area but extremely responsive and the caretaker is across the road from the house.
We stayed here over a summer weekend with friends, and it was great! We loved the beautiful home- the porch was great for dinnertime and for nighttime hangout time. The kitchen was well-stocked, as were all the necessities. Supermarket was a short drive away, making it easy to cook in. We made sure to use the tree swing and the fire pit for s'mores :) The beach was so private and relaxing- we were the only ones there for a big part of the day! The caretaker was very helpful with all questions that we had and made the process very smooth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
This lovely Chalet home was the perfect place for my families yearly ski trip accommodating 8 adults and a baby with room to spare. We bring a lot of food, games, equipment, and personal gear yet everyone could nestle in their rooms well. The kitchen was well equipped with the big pots and bowls I needed to feed the crew and even had 2 cheese graters. I usually pack one but forgot this time! It was a short distance to load the van to go skiing and the extra stove burner made it a very toasty place in the negative /single digit temps! We had lots of room for board games and lounging, plenty of hot water for showers, a large selection of linens, and good cellular phone service. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. The caretaker Lilt was great and he came over when we arrived to explain anything we asked about the house. It was also a easy place to find, even in the dark. We were all happy we stayed in this lovely Chalet.
