We own and run Salmon King Lodge of Red Bluff, the north states'only B & B devoted to outdoor enthusiasts and their families. Our primary business is as fishing guides, outfitters and B & B hosts, where we create great fishing adventures for customers of all ages. Our customers stay in our beautifully appointed private guest house which sleeps up to 14 people. During the times that we have lodging openings we make the guest house available as a vacation rental. In our previous life we spent 20+ years in Silicon Valley creating the foundation that would allow us to start the next chapter of our lives (while we were young enough and had the energy). We actually are doing what we love to do, we consider ourselves totally blessed, most days we can't believe we get to do this everyday. It's vastly different than our previous silicon valley lifestyle.
Julie Divens purchased this house in 2006
We desired to find a close and private location to better accommodate our fishing guests and their families.Once our Salmon species declined, and we branched out to other fishing regions, we thought the property would be a fabulous guest rental.
Beautifully & fully appointed with distinct lodge flair, deer and turkey abound. Private ranch style home set back from private road on 8+ acres.

We rented this guest house from mid March 2016 through end of May 2016.
We were hoping to relocate from the east coast and although we'd hoped to move to the north state, family emergencies prevented us from formalizing our move.
The point is, we LOVE this property, this house, this area of northern California. The house is light, airy, comfortable, expansive, clean, and very easy to just enjoy yourself in, plus since it's one of the few pet properties without a fee, we loved having our dog enjoy her life with us, rather than having to board her somewhere,
We had rented it a few years back, and never forgot how "at home" we felt there, so ,naturally, when we were considering relocating to Northern California, we thought first of staying at the Salmon King Lodge guest house until we found a suitable property. We actually were hoping to buy it, but could not proceed yet.
You will love this place, everything is just the way you wish other rental places could be, functional, not fru-fru, clean, spacious, lots of property to check out and places for our dog to enjoy.
Our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay at the Salmon King guest house. We had plenty of space and plenty of beds for all the kids to sleep where they wanted to. The open floor plan had a very spacious living area. We were very comfortable. We also enjoyed watching the deer and the jack rabbits in the back yard in the evenings, and at night you could see the Milky Way outside (it was far enough away from town for that, but still close enough to get to Wal Mart or the grocery store easily). The kitchen was well-equipped, with plenty of different cooking utensils and lots of dishes and glasses. The property was easy to get in and out of because of the loop driveway, and the neighborhood was very quiet. Julie provided a lot of good information prior to our arrival, including good directions to the property, and a list of area restaurants. We used the house as a springboard for day trips to a number of outdoor attractions in the area, in all directions from the property. It was a good central location. Our favorite local food place was Scoops...their smoothies were delicious!
We love our stay here.. It is really our home away from home.. I look forward to our home in red bluff each year.. We have stayed there now for several years and we all cry when we leave.. Thank you for always making it soo special for us.. We really hope to stay there next year as well!! we love you Julie!!!
I am missing our walks every morning with our dogs around the loop!!!
We loved loved loved this house! We spend New Years Eve here with my family on our way to Oregon. It has so much space and just so pleasant to be in. The house has everything you need and more if your a big group.
Raquel the house cleaner was a such a pleasant person and was so helpful to our group as we left .
This property really met our needs. Split bedrooms with spacious common areas in-between. The outdoor property did in fact provide for viewing of deer everyday. The property was very clean on our arrival. Additionally the owner kept in contact via email from our securing of the property to the night prior to our arrival.
The property was still close enough to Red Bluff should you need to go into town.
The site and home made for a very enjoyable vacation spot. We would return, and would recommend to others.
We had a men's retreat and it went great without a hitch because of the place left nothing lacking. Thanks, everyone said, "How did you find this place?" They thought I really did a lot of research. Thanks Julie.
This was a perfect spot to house my volleyball team for a tournament. We were able to accommodate 13 girls and 2 adults very comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped so that breakfast for 15 was an easy task! I would recommend it for larger groups for a secluded retreat.
There are a myriad of fabulous things to do and see while travelling in the north state. Shasta Lake, Whiskey Town Lake, Trinity River and Sacramento River all offer outstanding settings and are great for boating, relaxing and fishing. Red Bluff in particular has a long standing tradition of Rodeo & Livestock exhibitions and all related activities. The best area to shop is Main Street, best places to eat are: New Asian Cuisine, Luigi's, La Corona, Don Francisco's, Bud's Jolly Cone, The Green Barn, Countryside Cafe. In Redding The Turtle Bay exploration Center is a must-do, along with a walk across the single span bridge.
