PEREGRINE UNIT #302 - ONE OF THE LARGEST CONDOS AT COPPER MOUNTAIN!

With the ski lift only a 2-minute walk away, this huge, two-floor, 1,600 square foot slope-side unit is a great place for very large groups or multiple families vacationing together. Three full bedrooms, three full baths, plus a gigantic enclosed loft (with 4 adult-size bunkbeds) provide plenty of room for everyone, while the vaulted ceilings on both floors create a chalet-like feel throughout. Importantly, the flexible multi-floor layout of our home enables two groups/families to each create its own private “hangout” area.

Outside, the free bus stops just across the street, ready to take you anywhere in the resort from early morning until late night. Also across the street is the Copper Station day lodge where you can rent/buy skiing/riding equipment and purchase lift tickets and lessons. The Tubing Hill is located just outside the lodge and is a blast for all ages.

Finally, don’t miss the great après ski festivities at JJ's Tavern in the lodge. There's great food, craft beer, music, and a happy hour sing along that nobody can resist! On sunny days, sit outside with your favorite beverage to watch the skiers and riders rip down Rosie's Run, and then stroll ‘home’ in under two minutes for a relaxing evening in the sauna and hot tub.

TWO IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. We are very sorry, but our homeowner’s association prohibits pets of any kind. We know you love them, but it’s a strict rule! If the association discovers a pet, you will be asked to cut your vacation short and vacate the condo within 24 hours with loss of all monies paid.

2. There is absolutely NO SMOKING as it is a SMOKE-FREE building!

THE VERBAL TOUR:

The Peregrine Building is located in Copper Mountain Resort’s East Village. Our condo, #302, is a corner unit on the third (top) floor with no neighbors above nor on three sides. The unit faces west, and features three bedrooms, three full baths, and a fully-enclosed loft all on two floors. It’s almost 1,600 square feet and will comfortably accommodate ten to twelve adults.

First Floor: Outside, at the entry door to our unit, is our own private ski storage locker for ten to twelve pairs of skis. Inside, you enter to a hallway to the large living space and vaulted ceiling that drifts up to the second floor. On the right is a fully-renovated kitchen, well-equipped for large groups, featuring a breakfast bar with four barstools. The adjoining dining room is furnished with a large, family-size table with plenty of room and chairs for eight. To the left is the living room featuring a beautiful stone wall with a gas log fireplace, and furnished with two luxurious leather sofas (one a queen-size sleeper), a cozy reading chair and ottoman, a large coffee table, a CD player and radio, and a cable-equipped TV with a Blu-ray player. Lastly, the sunny balcony faces West overlooking a stream and the eighth tee of Copper Creek golf course.

The large first-floor master bedroom has a king-size bed, a generous closet, and a private full bath. The second first-floor bedroom features two long-size twin beds, also has a generous closet, and a large full bath just outside the door.

Second Floor: A wide open staircase leads to the upper level with a gigantic, fully-enclosed loft and a second master bedroom with private bath (the third bedroom overall). The spacious loft is separated from the lower living area by glass panels and a door at the top of the stairs. This enables the loft to function as a soundproof second living area for parties who wish to separate the young ones, or for two families vacationing together who want to be able to hang out, but maintain a comfortable level of privacy.

The loft is nicely furnished with living room furniture and two sets of adult-size bunk beds (4 sleeping spaces), and is flooded with morning light from a 12-foot high vertical window. Books and games for all ages, as well as a second cable-equipped TV and Blu-ray player complete the space.

The second master bedroom adjoins the loft, and is identical to the master bedroom on the first floor with king size bed, a generous closet, and a private full bath.

FANTASTIC WEATHER! Monday night gave us 6" new show at the top, maybe 2" at the bottom. Temps in low to mid 30's at base - sunny - couldn't have asked for anything better!



We're amazed at how well stocked this condo is! The layout is great - kids room upstairs is fantastic. The beds are very comfortable. The humidifiers are a great idea.



We had 2 families staying. One family from NC w/5 year old twins, one family from Boulder w/a 7 year old (all boys). The boys took snowboarding lessons for 2 days - the ski school is FANTASTIC and worth every penny.



One of us hadn't skied in 20 years! And guess what - it was as though she had skited yesterday!



Overall, a SUPER condo, a SUPER vacation!

Some good, but then some not so great

The condo is large with plenty of room for our 2 families. The kitchen was recently remodeled with granite countertops and new bathroom vanities. There were plenty of mixing bowls and casserole dishes but only 4 cereal bowls and 4 salad bowls and the silverware was a mismatch of oddly shaped utensils. The non-stick finish on the pans was horribly worn so it was difficult to cook anything and I was afraid that the flakes of the non-stick pan were getting into our food.

The condo is close to the super bee lift which is great for advanced skiers. Busses ran regularly, but I found it a pain to take the bus to center village to easier terrain. The advanced skiers in our group loved the proximity to the super bee lift. I liked the outdoor hot tub which was set at the perfect temperature. Watching television strained my neck as the TV is mounted over the fire place (which is a less than ideal location).

The owners of the unit use Carbonate as their management company and I found Carbonate to be very responsive, subject to the fact that the owners will not authorize certain repairs. There was no carafe for the coffeee maker, the thermostat was not working (so the condo was 75 degrees) and the bedspread on one bed was very dirty where a previous guest spilled food. The management company promptly fixed these issues.

The two king beds were not comfortable, but there were plenty of pillows, soft blankets and nice sheets.

The fans in the 3 bathrooms were broken and very loud. Based upon the fact this was stated in a prior VRBO review I should have asked the owners about it. You cannot use 2 of the bathrooms without turning on the loud/broken fan because the switch is the same for the fan and the light. The noise was truly annoying and reverberated from downstairs to the upstairs bedroom waking me up. Carbonate apologized but could not fix the fans because the owner wanted to replace the fans himself. It was not fair that we had to put up with unreasonable noise.

The private ski closet is large and located on the 3rd floor next to the condo. The Peregrine building has 1st floor ski lockers and indoor parking - but these may only be used by residents and not renters.

The condo was priced lower than several other condos so if you are looking for a value and not that concerned about the quality of the mattresses, the fan noise or the pots and pans then you might enjoy this condo

Nice!

I rated this property 4 stars because it had what we needed. The master bed was comfortable. It is very close to the Superbee Lift which is nice. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it does not comfortably sleep 12 adults like I was told when I asked. Also the living area is too small to accommodate 12 adults. I was disappointed we did not have covered parking also but it worked out. The parking was very close to the condo so it was convenient. I would stay here again but NOT with 12 adults.

Great location!

Great location very near the Superbee lift in East Copper Village. We had a group of 5 (1 couple and 3 singles). The condo was a good size, had great common areas, and good sized bedrooms. The hot tub is downstairs, but it is easy to access via an elevator and we never had a problem using it. Parking was also very easy. Would recommend this place and would stay here again.

Great Family Vacation

We found the condo very spacious, fully stocked for cooking, and located close to shuttle stops. Thankful for elevator and luggage carts since located on third floor. We hope to return to Colorado soon!!! We had a group of 6 and had more than enough room. Easy to get to from I-70. We had a great time skiing during the day and just hanging out in the evenings watching Christmas movies and playing scrabble!

Great location to explore the mountains

We used the condo as a "base camp" for bike riding to Vail, Breckenridge, Leadville and even a drive over to ride up Mt. Evans. While the overall location was good, we were a bit disappointed that the elevator to our 3rd floor condo said "no bicycles".

The view across the golf course was pretty nice and I didn't mind seeing the interstate. It was kind of fun looking at the various light combinations on the semis rolling through. The interstate noise was noticeable but didn't stop me from sleeping with the window open.

We did a lot of cooking. The kitchen appliances and pots/pans were certainly good vs. some of the cheap pots/pans/stove tops that you get at a suite hotel.

Our 6 adults fit nicely without bumping into each other in the common areas. It would get a bit interesting with kids as the common area doesn't have a large play area.

Great for our need

Had a wedding to attend to and did not want to rent a hotel room for three days. We enjoyed this comfortable condo, but only had 6 people. Bedroom and bathroom set ups are great, place is very comfortable. It would be tight for 12 people but it is wonderful for 6-8.
