Wonderful cottage; great location!!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was wonderful. The complex was quiet and peaceful. My daughter and sister loved the pool. The view of the lake was awesome. It was close to downtown Hot Springs, shopping, restaurants, but not too close. I went crystal digging and left crystals in the cottage for someone else to take and enjoy. I would rent this property again and recommend it to others.

brokenhearted

  • 2 of 5

Brokenhearted and disappointed. Spoke to Mr. Hughes prior to booking. Explained recovering from major leg/ankle surgery. Looking for a place with easy access to water for an extended week-end to fish and let the dog swim. His words, "Just the place for you, Take 2 steps off the porch, count 40 steps, put your had on the button and cast". On the way to the cottage, we purchased ARK. fishing license and bait. Only to discover we had been deceived. The unit is downstairs. You have 12 STEEP steps to tackle before you reach the ground level (We had to rig up a pulley system with the dogs leash just to get the luggage down. ) When we reached the cottage door be were dismayed to find out , true there were 2 steps, but in front of the cottage was a steep hill, then a large grass lawn before you saw the fenced in waterfront. The access was 1 cottage down, 26 STEEP steps down the hillside and at least 200-300 ft to the fenced waterfront. The swim area was an opening to a swim deck in 10 feet water (how was the dog to get back up on this). Prior to lugging the fishing equipment down all this, my husband tried it once, he made it down but could not come back up, he had to walk around the lakeside at an angle to get back up. Needless to say we never got to fish. Even if you drove down to the back of the complex, the only option was to fish over the fence and in the hot sun., We did try the pool area- It to was up and down an extremely steep but winding hill. The cottage itself is cute and well kept. Well worth the price. Close to attractions and shopping. But it you're not in good physical shape, this is not the place for you. Just wished he had been honest in describing this property. First major trip since a horrific accident and the inaccessibility ruined it. Couldn't fish, let the dog swim and he had to limit how many times he could go up and down those STEEP steps . A wasted use of vacation time and money.

Great Location!

  • 3 of 5

My husband and I really loved the quiet location of this condo. The views of the lake are fabulous! It couldn't be more convenient to downtown and the lake- very nice. I love that we were able to bring our dog! The owners were very easy to work with. My only complaint is that the condo needed a good dusting (fans, baseboards, tops of doors, etc) and the bathroom floor really needed to be scrubbed. The rug in the bathroom was dirty and there was grime around the base of the sink and toilet.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here.

Awesome get away!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented the yellow condo for the weekend and we loved everything about our stay. The decor was very cozy, relaxing and inviting. Just walking in made us happy! The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, utensils and all the little things we needed to make meals. The bed was very comfortable and the living room was an awesome place to sit, relax and enjoy the great view of the lake. We really enjoyed the fact that this condo feels like it is off the beaten path, but is very closely located to places like Walmart, gas stations and restaurants. We truly enjoyed our experience and will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Hot Springs. We cant wait to come back!

Don't pass this up!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Yellow Condo this past weekend and it was absolutely lovely. It is a studio so if you're travelling with a child and prefer a little privacy, I wouldn't recommend it since it's so open, but for us it was perfect. I couldn't believe the gorgeous view of the lake from nearly every window in the place. It was so much better than any hotel I've ever been in and Ralph was a pleasure to work with. The area is so quiet you'd never know you're only about 3 tenths of a mile from Central Avenue and Walmart. It's truly the perfect location.

The biggest perks were the fact that the area is very quiet, there's covered parking, and no set check in/check out time.

The only complaints I have aren't really even complaints... More like a "heads up" for future renters. The listing says the kitchen is stocked with supplies but I wasn't sure what that really meant. There wasn't a napkin or paper towel to be found in the cottage so for our first meal we used wash cloths as napkins until we could get to Walmart for a roll of paper towels. There wasn't any dish soap so I just left our dirty dishes on the counter which I felt badly about. Since I cooked nearly every meal there I did have to wash a couple pans and knives to re-use but I had to use hand soap to do it. The pump on the hand soap in the kitchen did not work either so I had to take the lid off and pour it out.

As far as supplies go, there was plenty of flatware and dishes, but only one old spatula with rounded edges. If I'd had one flat spatula and one rubber spatula that would've been helpful. I also would've liked a can of cooking spray. I cooked 5 meals there and other than those very minor complaints, the kitchen really did have everything we needed.

Truly, the very very minor complaints about kitchen supplies are the ONLY negative things I could find about this place. I'll absolutely stay there again and recommend it to everyone I know.

Thanks for such a great weekend! =)

Owner's Response: Sheri Thank you for your kind words. I'm so sorry about the shortage of supplies. That was my fault. This will not happen again. We hope you will come back. Ralph and Cindy

Yellow Romance Cottage

  • 5 of 5

I visited hot springs for a weekend for spring break with my girlfriend and we enjoyed the beautful view from each angle. The cottage is definitely made for a couple and very clean and different. The rate was a great rate for a unexpected vacation. The location of the cottage is very close to 24 hour Walmart and a lot of restaurants. I would definitely recommend that you visit hot springs during spring break the weather was awesome. We will definitely be returning whenever we need a quick getaway...
