Overview

Olympic Peninsula Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Oceanfront Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

The Sunset Beach Carriage House is a classic, shingled coastal rental located in Moclips, Washington. Its craftsman style suggests that it has been there for years, but it boasts all the modern comforts and conveniences. The Carriage House was designed—as were coach houses around the turn of the last century—to store vehicles and equipment in service of the main house. With a nod to the coach houses of the past, the Carriage House also was designed to include a charming and efficient living space for guests. This newly constructed, custom-built home has all the amenities you will need for a comfortable, relaxing, and memorable stay. The Carriage House is just steps from the beach and, as a result, has spectacular, unobstructed ocean views from nearly every room. Whether you are a single person, a couple, or a small family, the Sunset Beach Carriage House is the perfect getaway.

Perfect location! Peaceful, serene and absolutely adorable.

  • 5 of 5

It is the perfect location and with just enough space- not too much and not too little. We enjoyed exploring the quiet beach that was right out the door and listening to the ocean waves. We took a short excursion north to see the beaches at La Push, stopping to check out the Olympic rain forest trails and some of the largest trees in the world on the way and spent time checking out Ocean Shores which was a quick drive away.

This cottage is well cared for and easy to fall in love with! It was a truly fantastic time.

Beautiful Carriage House right on the Beach!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in vacation rentals from Maine to California, and this was the best of the best. The beautifully remodeled carriage house has the most amazing view of the ocean, and the least crowded beach we have ever experienced. With charming decor, and everything you need to feel right at home, this is the perfect place to stay. One bedroom and full bath upstairs, and one downstairs offer privacy for two couples, or for a small family. There is also a sauna on the first floor to soothe those aching muscles. We loved sitting on the deck at night, and watching the beautiful sun set over the ocean with a glass of wine in hand. I am a runner, and the beach was so flat and firm I was able to get in some wonderful runs as well.

We stocked up on groceries for breakfast, lunch and snacks at the Walmart in Aberdeen, but enjoyed the many area restaurants for seafood dinners. There are two small convenience stores minutes away as well. The Hoh rainforest is about a 2 hour drive, but lake Quinalt and the Quinalt national rain forest is only 30 minutes away. We found outstanding hiking in the forest, and boat rentals and wonderful meals and views at the Lake Quinalt lodge. Some of the largest trees of their species can be found along the trails. The Salmon House is only a mile from the lodge, and has wonderful salmon and seafood as well. Take the drive around the lake to enter Olympic National park, and view more of the rain forest, waterfalls and mountains. I also highly recommend Ruby beach (north on 101) for tide pooling and viewing the large rocks and driftwood. You can stop by the Kaloloch lodge for a great meal on the way home.

The owner, Robert, owns the main house next door as well. If he isn't home he is only a phone call away to help you with whatever will make your stay more enjoyable. We highly recommend this amazing rental in the most beautiful, relaxing location you will find.

Exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

Very welcoming owner. Well appointed, clean, newly remodeled house right on the beach. Amazing ocean views from the living room and master bedroom. Close to town and to Olympic National Park. The Copalis River a few miles South is a real gem of you have a canoe or kayak. I would highly recommend this vacation property.

Even better in person

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was so cozy and well kept! If you are looking for a place to unplug this is it! The setting on the ocean was great as I watched and listened to the waves rolling in. Robert was personable and was next door during part of my stay. The cottage location is great as it is within an hour of the Olymic National Park Lake Quinault area/rainforest with great hiking trails. The Quinault Lodge there for lunch or dinner is a great setting on the lake. I also separately enjoyed the Westport Winery...both the wine tasting and food were good. The gardens there were pretty and worth walking.Bring your own DVD's and CD's. Thanks again Robert for a great stay!

Excellent - better than advertised!

Just a great place to stay for my family... Everything in the cottage is like new, modern, and stylish. The beach is awesome with huge crabs and bald eagles! The entire reservation and payment process was straightforward and easy... Robert was proactive in all communication. We highly recommend this place!

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS

  • 5 of 5

Like one of the other reviewers mentioned, "look no further." Well spoken. My wife and I stayed June 5th thru the 8th; 3 wonderful days of beauty and rest. We were lucky as there was not a drop of rain during our stay. First day at the cottage was beautiful weather; warmer than the norm - and we got to enjoy a lovely walk on the beach; just steps from the cottage. We really loved how the cottage was so clean and inviting. Everything we needed to settle in. Highlights of our stay were: finding sand dollars on the beach, 3 beautiful sunsets (lots of photos), a drive to Olympic National Park, Ruby Beach, and Damon Point Beach (good shelling at this beach). Listening to the ocean at night was a wonderful way to end the day. As others have said, Robert is great to work with. He returned my emails in lighting quick time. Deposit was returned in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here again.
