About Tim and Jane

My wife and I bought the property in 2000 and built the cabin in 2005.

We enjoy spending time here with our 6 children.

Tim and Jane purchased this chalet in 2005

Why Tim and Jane chose Wisconsin

We love Pepin! The people are friendly, the scenery is awesome, and we are always reluctant to leave.

Work from home? Why not make this your home for a week? We have high bandwidth DSL WiFi to make work from a quiet , remote location easy and relaxing.

What makes this chalet unique

The quiet and peacefulness reign. Seeing eagles is definitely more common than not seeing an eagle, especially Oct - Apr. During the these months the quiet calms frazzled nerves and there is nothing like a fire in the fireplace throughout the weekend.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Posted with guest permission for stay on Dec 22-25:

We'll definitely be booking again with you in the future. We did see several eagles and took some walks on the beach. I don't think any of the restaurants were open during our stay due to Sunday and the holidays, but we wanted to stay in and cook anyway. Your place was well stocked with everything we needed to make all of our meals and really enjoy ourselves. It was exactly what we were hoping for, and the drive up there along the river was lovely. More than anything, we appreciated being able to bring our dog. I think she enjoyed roaming the beach even more than we did.

Beautiful and comfortable house! Perfect location!

  • 4 of 5

The house is located conveniently to town, lake, and winery. The house has plenty of beds to sleep at least 7 people. The loft has a very steep ladder which could be hard for young kids.

There are two bathrooms but we did not use the second one since you have to go through the garage to get to it. The laundry room is also located there. Most of the house appeared recently remodeled and nice. All of the living space is above the garage so you do have to walk up/down steps. Best part-- they allow dogs! The owners have a launch pass available for the marina and we paid $20 a day to dock our boat. There is a flat space to park a boat in driveway but it is uphill to get to it. Fishing wasn't too good while we were there.

We enjoyed eating at The Fried Pickle- GREAT BURGERS! The winery is absolutely beautiful!!! Wine was good for Wisconsin wine and food was delicious. The best part it is only a 1/4 mile walk from the house.

Owner's Response: We are glad that your stay was a good one! The policy at the Pepin Marina has changed. They no longer want owners of vacation rentals to make the launch key available to guests. Please give the Pepin Marina a call to see if they have a slip available during your stay. thank you for your positive comments.

Great views and a great location

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I enjoyed a mid week relaxing stay here. Cool, gloomy April weather didn't impact our visit at all as the property was cozy warm and bright, with terrific windows. These windows offered beautiful views of Lake Pepin and the soaring eagles above.

Walkability is great from this rental. Everthing you could possibly need is nearby: coffee shop, vineyard, marina, restaurant, library, groceries, etc.

The place is attractive, clean, and stocked with everthing you need. And Tim was helpful with my questions and accommodating.

I hope to make a return visit later in the year.

Thanks again, Tim and Jane!

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin, very clean and comfortable with all the amenities anyone could need. My favorite part was the huge deck with the views of Lake Pepin, could spend a whole day out there. Located not to far from the Villa Bellezza Winery, it is a perfect spot for a girls weekend.

Lovely place with huge deck

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place for so many reasons. The deck is huge. There is a beautiful winery right across the street and it can be seen through the trees. The property is clean and bright inside with very high ceilings. It's on a little street that follows the river and the railroad tracks. We walked to restaurants in town and saw eagles in the trees. Just lovely!

Very clean, well kept, and welcoming vibes.

  • 5 of 5

Tim was very transparent about instructions and left a ton of great information about our stay and other things to do. It was wsssntially like picking up our home and moving it to Lake Pepin; we felt very comfortable right away and made it our own. Plenty of space, beds, blankets and wood for a fire! There were also utensils and kitchen items for everything you would need to have a nice meal, which we did except for one dinner.

The steps to the loft are steep, but it's a great space up there! There are two skylights which bring in great natural light.

There is plenty of parking and space is the garage if you need to bring in a cooler, or anything else from your car. Since it's March we didn't get to use the beach, but its not too far from the house.

We were there for a wedding venue tour of Villa Bellezza which is literally across the street on the east side of the house. Check out the tasting room there if you enjoy wine! I heard The Eagles Nest has also been favored for the Groom and groomsmen to get ready on wedding days. I bet it would take some nice pictures for that occasion!

Had a smart TV which we used once to record the Badgers game during March Madness. That was a nice plus.

Would love to visit again in the summer when we could walk down to the lake or sit on the very nice and large deck.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience and were extremely pleased with this rental!

PS the decor is perfectly midwestern. Loved it.
