Our guest house is family owned; we have loved the area for many years. So many activities in the area for every age group.
Ruth Dickinson purchased this house in 2000
Try hiking in the Beartooths; rafting on the Yellowstone; fishing in the back yard on the river; golf and shopping in Red Lodge.
Great food at the Grizzly Bar and Restaurant.
Our stay in your wonderful home was absolutely perfect for the time there to attend a family reunion on the East Rosebud river at my sister and her husband’s cabin. The two nights allowed our immediate family to gather together for dinner on the deck the night before. The does were in the meadow along with spotted fawns. The early morning mist was on the meadow. I hope to have the same experience sometime in the future in your home. Thank you for making the ‘Rouane’ family reunion better beyond expectations. Yes, I came home with new pottery, too.
Blessings ~ Pat
We stayed here with our granddaughters and son. We all had a wonderful time. We used it as home base for trips to Yellowstone and Beartooth Pass, as well as hiking trips and wildlife viewing. Beautiful view out the living room window of the mountains and wildflower fields. Each morning we had visitors just across the fence, steps away from the house, including deer with spotted fawns and wild turkey with her chicks. it was hard to get the kids packed up and ready to leave. Although we had wifi, kids chose the outdoors over their electronic devices. They absolutely loved Rosebud Creek. If you want to stay somewhere with easy access to Red Lodge, Yellowstone, Rosebud Creek, the Stillwater River and the Beartooth Mountains, check out the Montana Guest house in Rosco, Montana.
My parents, daughter, myself and spouse spent four days at the Montana Guest Home. I recommend taking the 20 mile scenic trip from Red Lodge to Roscoe it is worth the drive. The ranch was awesome and everything i was hoping it would be. The views, wildlife, and the stream in the back you couldn't ask for anymore it was so peaceful to stay at the ranch. Ruth Dickinson and her family were very helpful with directions on getting there and where to go for things around Roscoe. I would recommend this place for to anyone who likes to be with mother nature.
The Montana Guest Home is absolutely fantastic! It exceeded out expectations in so many ways. The natural beauty, the isolation, the East Rosebud Creek, the wildlife, the hiking and the accommodations were second to none. We can't wait to go back!
My sister, brother, myself, our spouses, 2 teenagers and another adult friend spent a 4 day weekend at this ranch house. It was perfect for us! Ruth Dickinson, the owner was great with communications and very helpful. The reason for the trip was to spread our mother's ashes. Our father is buried in the Roscoe cemetery and we wanted them to be together. We spent several years living in Roscoe and we graduated from Absarokee High School, so this was indeed a "going home" trip for us. The ranch house is dated, but that only lead to it's charm. The pantry is stocked with left over non-perishable food that other rents left. There is a plethora of spices in the cupboard, extra bedding, games, puzzles and the kitchen has every cooking tool needed (pots, pans, toaster oven, coffee pot). It's as if the owners just stepped out and let you live in their home for the time being. The back deck has two picnic tables and a bbq grill. We took extra fold out chairs to sit around the deck in the mornings and evenings to enjoy a beer and the view. We watched the deer and fawns play across the river and in the field beside us with the view of the mountains behind them. Heaven :-) My brother got himself a 2 day non-resident fishing license and provided us with a trout dinner on our last night there. We loved it so much, we want make this an annual family get together.
This house was amazing and more than any of us could imagine. The surrounding area is beautiful, even in the winter time. We love being away from the town, with limited internet, great way to unwind and unplug. We will come back here in the future, and will recommend to anyone going through the Red Lodge area!! Fantastic home and amenities!
We spent a most enjoyable week at the Dickinson Ranch. The setting beneath the Beartooth Mountains is incredibly beautiful, and we spent many hours sitting on the back deck watching the deer, turkeys, and other wildlife in the fields just beyond the yard. We really hated to leave.
