I bought the house for a family vacation place for my family to enjoy and we take great care of the property but only use it a week or two a year.
Toblerone Real Estate purchased this house in 2009
Aspen is the best ski area in the world plus terrific shopping, no crowds, dining, cultural activities, close to everything-airport, town, Aspen Recreation center and all Aspen and Snowmass have to offer.
Very few places in Aspen have a private heated pool and jacuzzi, wood burning fireplace, pool table, spacious living and sleeping arrangements on top of all technology and communication amenities to stay connected.
Our experience at this Aspen home was 100% exceptional. From the moment we got in touch with the owner, to even the day after we left, everything was over-the-top amazing! The home is perfectly arranged for multi-families or groups of friends wanting to be close to both Aspen and Snowmass mountain. Walking distance from the village of Aspen, a short drive to Snowmass (on shuttle route), and super convenient to the airport. The little neighborhood street is quaint. Our children loved seeing all the animals (deer, fox, chipmunks) wander by. We originally traveled to the area to enjoy our time on the slopes, but quickly discovered our favorite moments were cooking meals in the fabulous kitchen or grilling outside, pool time with the kiddos, watching the stars from the hot tub, roasting smores... the list goes on and on. I never write reviews... but thought this beautiful home, and thoughtful owner deserved my critique. I think it's also important to note my four year old also left his blanket, and the owner overnighted it free of charge. It's hard to find someone and a vacation escape that truly exceeds expectations. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. We can't wait to go back!
I live in Woody Creek and I rented this house for my family for my wife's memorial after she passed away in January. This house was the perfect family gathering place and we had about 40 friends and family at the reception. Emma Cassin of Mason and Morse was the best representative you could ask for, and she provided everything we needed. So don't rent it in the off season in case I need it again. We'll see.
Thanks Emma, see you around,
While the house itself was private, spacious and nicely furnished, the immediate neighborhood felt rather old and crowded. In addition, although the house was generally clean, the floors of the kitchen and great room did not appear to have been cleaned thoroughly prior to our arrival. It is not this that prompts a merely “average” rating, though. Rather, the overall unsatisfactory interaction with the local real estate/property management personnel prevents me from giving this property a higher rating.
I began communicating with the owner nine months ahead of our planned rental date. He was responsive, and I decided to rent the house. The owner then turned the process over to his local real estate agent. It took more than a month and several reminder e-mails from me to obtain a correct executed copy of the rental agreement from the agent. Then, there was confusion about whether they would accept a credit card for rent payment. When I pointed out that the website had stated that credit cards would be accepted for rent payments, the agent agreed to do so. The rental agreement stipulated that rent would be paid in two installments, one half when the rental agreement was finally in place and the other half approximately four months later. In addition, a security deposit was due by check one month before the rental dates. The “accounting department” made a mistake, however, and the entire rent amount was charged to my credit card when the first half was due. After e-mails back and forth, the agent offered to refund the premature second half payment, but it had been such a hassle that I did not request the refund. Instead, I clarified that since I had already paid the entire amount, no other rent payment would be due. As the date for the security/cleaning deposit approached, I had to contact the agent to obtain their mailing address. I sent a check on time which was cashed by the real estate company, but ten days later I received an e-mail from the agent stating that the accounting department had not received my check. After trying to contact the agent by voice message and e-mail, I eventually received an apologetic e-mail stating that they had, indeed, received and cashed the check and that we were “all set.”
I met with the agent to obtain the keys and do a walkthrough of the house on the morning of the first day of our rental. She showed me through the house and pointed out a packet of information on a table. She also explained that the bli
