Entendez le son du fleuve: Hear the sound of the river. You'll feel to the manor born when you stay at this spacious estate that combines the atmosphere of a chateau in Provence with the stunning beauty of Oregon's Hood River Valley. With amenities like a hot tub and enough space for 20 guests and a family dog, this home exudes luxury and comfort.
River Song is just 10 minutes from downtown Hood River and all the great places to eat and shop there.
From the moment you enter the huge open living area with its high ceilings, panoramic views, and grand spiral staircase you realize this is an enormous space (about 5800 sq.ft.) perfect for festivities, yet warm and comfortable - and you would be right. The home is the newly built favorite getaway of the Webster family and their eight children, and was designed to entertain large parties.
Whether you're passing the hors d'oeuvres at a party, or a bowl of popcorn while you and the family watch a movie, this home offers a seamless space for interacting no matter what the occasion. And when the others have gone to bed, enjoy a solitary moment. Stay up by the fire and work on the laptop with the free WiFi, read a book, or watch a late movie on the cable TV.
This chateau's large and well-equipped kitchen will be up to any culinary challenge, from a glitzy feast to eggs and toast in the morning. Straw bosses can supervise and chat as they sip a drink at the island right in the kitchen. When the meal's done, gather 'round the dining table with room for eight (plus seven more at the island) and feast not only on the meal with a stunning backdrop.
All six of the bedrooms are color-coded so everyone knows where they belong at bedtime. Between a king bed, four queen beds, four twin beds, a futon, a sofa bed, and a crib or two, up to 20 visitors will find a spot to sleep (please note that there is a small fee per night per extra guest over 12 people). The family dog may even join for a small nightly fee.
Along with the three-dozen wineries in the area, there are many orchards where you can pick your own fruit! Come in April to the Hood River Blossom Festival and take the railroad tour of the orchards called "The Fruit Loop." Winter is great in Hood River too. Just head south for 30 minutes and you're at Mount Hood Meadows. Keep going, and there are more places to ski down the road.

Secure INSTANT booking
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We are a group of adult friends who get together annually to vacation. We are a group of 13-15 people who want a nice place to stay in a beautiful/interesting place. River Song Country Chateau fit us beautifully. The house is well suited for large groups including two dishwashers and ovens, an indoor chilled drinking fountain, and even an additional kitchen in the basement. The open concept kitchen, dining room, and family room is a perfect place to hang out together. We ate on the huge deck every evening which had an incredible view of a orchard of pear trees with Mt Adams in the back ground and the sound of the Hood River below. One evening we had an amazing sunset that turned the sky, Mt Hood in the front yard, and Mt Adams in the backyard pink and gold. The property is very private but minutes away the "Fruit Loop" (fresh fruit and wine tasting) and Hood River (Columbia River Gorge/ restaurants/shopping/kite surfing). It reminded several of us of Tuscany! Thank you for a great vacation. We hope to come again.
Great house with amazing views! Close enough to town to enjoy its amenities but far enough away for the peace and quiet of the country. Manager was very helpful before and during our stay and we hope to come back again!
This house was big and in a gorgeous setting, which met our group's main criteria. While the main spaces were well-furnished and spacious, the bedrooms were very under-furnished and there seemed to be a lot of little construction projects going on. The deck was also under construction and we weren't able to use it. Despite these small items, we had a wonderful weekend at the house and would consider returning. We just hope the owners continue to develop the beauty of this rental.
Great rental property, tons of space and gorgeous views!
We rented this house for my sisters bachelorette party. We wanted a private location for all of us to relax, hang out and have a good time. This was the perfect house, looked even better than the pictures. The wineries, restaurants and people did not disappoint! 5/5 stars!!!
