Entendez le son du fleuve: Hear the sound of the river. You'll feel to the manor born when you stay at this spacious estate that combines the atmosphere of a chateau in Provence with the stunning beauty of Oregon's Hood River Valley. With amenities like a hot tub and enough space for 20 guests and a family dog, this home exudes luxury and comfort. Contact Vacasa for more details about large gatherings like weddings (until 2018) and reunions, as additional fees apply.
River Song is just 10 minutes from downtown Hood River and all the great places to eat and shop there.
From the moment you enter the huge open living area with its high ceilings, panoramic views, and grand spiral staircase you realize this is an enormous space (about 5800 sq.ft.) perfect for festivities, yet warm and comfortable - and you would be right. The home is the newly built favorite getaway of the Webster family and their eight children, and was designed to entertain large parties.
Whether you're passing the hors d'oeuvres at a party, or a bowl of popcorn while you and the family watch a movie, this home offers a seamless space for interacting no matter what the occasion. And when the others have gone to bed, enjoy a solitary moment. Stay up by the fire and work on the laptop with the free WiFi, read a book, or watch a late movie on the cable TV.
This chateau's large and well-equipped kitchen will be up to any culinary challenge, from a glitzy feast to eggs and toast in the morning. Straw bosses can supervise and chat as they sip a drink at the island right in the kitchen. When the meal's done, gather 'round the dining table with room for eight (plus seven more at the island) and feast not only on the meal with a stunning backdrop.
All six of the bedrooms are color-coded so everyone knows where they belong at bedtime. Between a king bed, four queen beds, four twin beds, a futon, a sofa bed, and a crib or two, up to 20 visitors will find a spot to sleep (please note that there is a small fee per night per extra guest over 20 people and for weddings). The family dog may even join for a small nightly fee.
Along with the three-dozen wineries in the area, there are many orchards where you can pick your own fruit! Come in April to the Hood River Blossom Festival and take the railroad tour of the orchards called "The Fruit Loop." Winter is great in Hood River too. Just head south for 30 minutes and you're at Mount Hood Meadows. Keep going, and there are more places to ski down the road.
Book your next family reunion, small wedding, or friendly get together at this Hood River vacation home.
* Please note: If you are planning a wedding, celebration, or a gathering of more than 20 people, please call Vacasa directly for more information. Thank you.
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
This is a large very nice house in the middle of a pear orchard. We rented in in the off season, which I think is the only time we could afford it. Peak season prices are spendy. The surrounding area is so beautiful. The views of Mt. Adams are amazing from the windows and deck.
Our family from Texas stayed with us here for the week-end. There was plenty of room for all 17 of us. The house is nice and roomy. We were in the master suite on the main floor and I particularly liked the heated floors in the master bath. Meals were great together, between the large table and the great bar chairs it worked our well. Very comfortable beds. It was a great family get together.
This is now the second time I have stayed at this house. once was with a bachelorette party and now with friends and kiddos. This house has met our needs for both scenarios! Great layout, many bedrooms, comfy cozy setting, lots of space for groups.
Far enough out of town for the views of the groves. But close enough drive into down town. Great local variety of food to choose from. Great house for 6 couples to be comfortable. Furnishings could use an update but over all a great location and size of home.
Wonderful place for our family of 9. Beautiful view with easy access to Meadows for skiing , about 40 minutes. Plenty of room for all us.
