"Our 11 person extended family stayed here for a family reunion over labor day weekend and I just can't say enough about how fabulous this Riverfront vacation property was for us!! There was plenty of room for our group gatherings. We sat on the downstairs couches and talked for hours. The several of us watched a few movies up stairs in the large open very nice common area. The kitchen was sufficiently well equipped and the large grill was on the deck. We swam every day in what were the warm, calm, slow moving waters of the Tualatin River off the backyard dock. We rented kayaks for one whole day from the park just upstream of us and explored up and downstream -- all loads of fun, exceptionally beautiful, and exciting. (We found a secret rope swing for more fun!) "

"This is a very comfortable home, in a beautiful and fun filled setting!! There are homes on either side, but one was totally hidden by mature evergreen bushes, and the other is largely oriented to ensure a level of privacy. And, while we were there we felt as though we were far from civilization, in fact we were only 10 minutes from Costco, Whole Foods Market and all sorts of shopping! Not to mention, only 20 mins from downtown Portland and all the many excellent restaurants in the area."

Portland: Big city excitement and small town charm make Portland, Oregon, known as 'the City of Roses', one of the favorite destinations in the West. Portland is situated approximately 70 miles from the Pacific in a magnificent setting between the sparkling waters of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Portland's historic old town, galleries and museums, Saturday Market, and theatre companies will keep visitors busy for weeks! Its lush green parks are perfect for a picnic or an afternoon stroll.

Also, Portland is just a short distance from Willamette valley wineries, skiing at Timberline Lodge and all of the excitement and beauty of Oregon's spectacular ocean beaches.

Portland was built with walking in mind. The short blocks, combined with public art and old fashioned statuary, fountains, bridges and parks offer opportunities for leisure and contemplation for the casual stroller.

Spent 3 days here with my family for my grandson's wedding. Wonderful house, comfortable and peaceful surroundings with a wonder view view. Thank you for sharing this very special space.

Thanks so much Debbie. Our family had a great time. We so appreciated the pantry and the spices and it made it so easy to prepare our meal. Thanks for being so flexible during our final contracting when our headcount changed.

Thank you so much for your gift of this awesome river home. It was the perfect place to host my family for my son's wedding. The home is the perfect location for it's proximity to the airport, Salem, wine country and especially the wedding venue. We had a very peaceful & relaxing visit and will fondly remember our time here. The Lamons

We arrived at the River House for a 5 night stay for our son's wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend and return to the River House. It was wonderful.

There is room for at least 5 cars, so parking wasn't a problem. The living quarters are on the 2nd and 3rd floors, so stairs are unavoidable. As a child we used to canoe and swim in the canal off Lake Oswego and swimming here was pretty close experience to this. But, if perhaps you are unfamiliar with this type of setting, young children should be wearing a life jacket anytime they are within access to the water.

Our stay at the River House was wonderful. Family vacations go much smoother in a house than a costly hotel. All of us enjoyed making smores at the fire pit and sitting by the water. The house suited all of our needs. We would recommend the River House to large groups with children as our party had four children. The location is beautiful and the roads made for great walking paths. Very wonderful experience and many memories were made here at our stay in Portland.

and relaxing to stay in a house with enough room for a large family and a toddler. We relaxed by the fire pit at night and were able to eat together and play games or nap when we wanted to. We made some wonderful family memories at the River House.

This house has it all. It’s large, comfortable and very well stocked. The pictures highlight all the rooms the house has to offer. There is space for those who love to read, space for those that love to watch TV, the kitchen is large enough for several people so you have company while cooking, there is a room upstairs to play games, put puzzles together and you have access to a computer to research what to do in the area. The location is great! You’re close to shopping and incredible restaurants in downtown Portland. If this is your first visit to the area and you have a sweet tooth, check out Voodoo doughnuts. It’s quite the experience. If you like to read, a trip to Powell’s Book Store is a must. It’s the largest used & new bookstore in the world. Enjoy!

April 2013

This home is cheerful, comfortable and fun! Even though it rained while we were there and we couldn't use the outdoor fire pit, there was a wonderful wood stove we could have used. The home had a great view of the river and it was so quiet and serene, yet close to everything you would need to eat, do or see. There was plenty of everything you could need to feel right at home--from pantry items, to extra blankets, to toiletries and more. We had a great time, and you will too!

Our family stayed in this home for a weekend while in Oregon for a wedding. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and has everything you could need. Debbie is a fantastic host and one of the most throughout we've stayed with. Just a short drive from Portland, this would be a great way to experience the city, but also have plenty of space.

July Wedding

  • 5 of 5

The house was greatly enjoyed by family and friends in town for a wedding. The weather was beautiful the entire time we were there and we were able to take full advantage of the bar-b-q, fire pit, dock, and river. So much better than staying in a hotel. And very conveniently located for most anything we wanted to do.

Very enjoyable yet close to Portland

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed having a fire in the evenings by the river. We would advise getting wood from Fred Meyer in Tualatin as the corner market only had press logs. Also we rented boats from Alder Creek rentals and the dock was a perfect place to be able to trade out users. The house is well stocked with cooking needs. I can see an enjoyable stay in this house even on rainy days!

Tualatin Riverside Home

  • 5 of 5

This place was great. The common rooms were huge and comfortable. The house was immediately on the river with a dock so that you could sit and enjoy the calming water pass by. There was a firepit that we actually did not use because we ran out of time but would have been a great evening ender. We will definitely look this up next time we are in the Portland area.
