Jan and Brent Stanley are vineyard owners who farm Zinfandel and Petit Syrah grapes. They moved to the area from San Francisco with their two dogs, Mollie and Bo.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2007
The location is unique in that it is in the country with beautiful views but it is also a mere 5 minute drive into town. The area is replete with many leisure activities and is also a charming place to relax and rejuvenate.
The house is finely appointed with king size beds and a private bath for each of the two bedrooms. It has a living room with a fireplace and a separate dining room which seats 8. It has charming outdoor space with 3 separate sitting areas, an outdoor grill and a table for outdoor dining.
We stayed in this perfectly decorated and cared for home for a week. The home is well appointed and the location is just minutes to downtown Healdsburg which has lots of great eateries and quaint shopping. Less than a block from the house is small winery called Everett Ridge where you can enjoy a wine tasting or grab a bottle to take back to the cottage and relax with on the patio. Each day you walk out the front door and are engulfed by rolling fields of grapevines. The home is quiet and the surroundings splendid. The owners are a true delight and have expert knowledge on the local community and sites not to be missed. We give this cottage a 10+!
My first thought is to say only bad things to keep this gem only to ourselves.....but the truth will out and here is the truth. In todays world most expectations are rarely met much less exceeded. Our hopes and expectations for our recent stay at the Vineyard Cottage were surpassed by miles. It is beautiful in the photos but they do not even do it justice. There is a magic when the morning fog is coming over the mountains and drifting thru the vineyard in your front yard. The owners have anticipated every need and go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. On the practical side the beds are great and the kitchen has everything you could want or need. There was even a large stock pot that we used to make soup out of our leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Thank you Jan and Brent for a perfect stay in your cottage. Return trip booked before we left!
My first inclination was to write a bad review just to ensure I could acquire a reservation any time I needed. However, I could not do that to who have transformed from "landlords" to good friends, Jan and Brent Stanley. We have been using the cottage for the past 5-6 years, and I have already made my reservation for next year. This 2-bedroom, 2-bath cottage offers not only great accommodations, but a little slice of heaven. After enjoying the area and finishing our half-marathon run, our favorite time is to come back, cook dinner, and sit outside overlooking the vineyard as the sun is going down while drinking our glass of wine. Although just a few minutes from Healdsburg, I feel as though I am miles away in the vineyard countryside. This cottage has every accommodation from a fully-stocked kitchen from a utensil/pot/dishes to soap/baggies/hair dryer and the like; the kitchen even has a crock pot and BBQ for use. Brent, a bicycle enthusiast, also has bicycles available, and we have gratefully taken advantage of his generosity. It is the perfect vacation spot for our family/friends. We hope to come back year after year--that is, if this review does not result in me having to compete with the flood of folks reading it and trying to get in their reservations in first!
This is just the perfect setting, and cottage for two couples. This well stocked home away from home ( sitting in the middle of a vineyard) was perfect for the four of us who love to cook, drink wine, enjoy the outdoors, and relax. The cottage is conveniently located only 2 minutes from downtown Healdsburg yet the setting makes you feel like you are far out in the countryside. Plenty of space in the 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Kitchen is well stocked with all the tools you need for cooking. Lovely dining area surrounded by windows overlooking the vineyard. Jan and Brent were very accommodating and helpful with things to do close in. We already have our reservations for "same time, next year."
My wife and I stayed here with another couple for five nights this past September. The cottage was immaculate, upscale and filled with romantic atmosphere that blends with the surrounding vineyard. It is in a wonderfully private location. We loved the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed wonderful meals utilizing the outside grill. We walked through the vineyard in the morning and bicycled from the cottage in the Dry Creek Valley. This is a wonderful place we hope to return to.
A perfect place to get together with long time friends.
Beautiful, quiet and comfortable.
The cottage owners have thought of everything. Perfectly appointed.
Thanks for having us.
This year marked our third visit to the Healdsburg Vineyard Cottage. Like others have said, it is the perfect wine country retreat. After a long day of travel to get there (we live in the Midwest), walking into the cottage feels like we have returned home. Jan and Brent are fabulous hosts and always reach out in advance of our arrival to ask if we have any special requests. They are great resources for dining and wine tasting options, and are always happy to help.
The cottage is tastefully decorated, with amenities that are comfortable and inviting. It sits nestled along a vineyard and is private and quiet. Downtown Healdsburg is a quick 5 minute drive away, with easy access to everything you will need during your stay. The star gazing at night from the front porch is unbelievable. You won't be disappointed! We plan to return again, and again, and again,....
