Jan and Brent Stanley are vineyard owners who farm Zinfandel and Petit Syrah grapes. They moved to the area from San Francisco with their two dogs, Mollie and Bo.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2007
The location is unique in that it is in the country with beautiful views but it is also a mere 5 minute drive into town. The area is replete with many leisure activities and is also a charming place to relax and rejuvenate.
The house is finely appointed with king size beds and a private bath for each of the two bedrooms. It has a living room with a fireplace and a separate dining room which seats 8. It has charming outdoor space with 3 separate sitting areas, an outdoor grill and a table for outdoor dining.
We stayed in this perfectly decorated and cared for home for a week. The home is well appointed and the location is just minutes to downtown Healdsburg which has lots of great eateries and quaint shopping. Less than a block from the house is small winery called Everett Ridge where you can enjoy a wine tasting or grab a bottle to take back to the cottage and relax with on the patio. Each day you walk out the front door and are engulfed by rolling fields of grapevines. The home is quiet and the surroundings splendid. The owners are a true delight and have expert knowledge on the local community and sites not to be missed. We give this cottage a 10+!
Another amazingly beautiful weekend spent in this Healdsburg Vineyard Cottage. This is our third year visiting this total treasure and it never disappoints. Its gated private drive winding through the vines is the perfect invite to the picturesque cottage that sits completely surrounded by the vineyard. The days and nights are absolutely peaceful with little noise, perfectly breathtaking view, and gorgeous sunsets.
Jan & Brent have not left a single thing out of their immaculately kept home and if you find they have, they will gladly bring you whatever it is you need. They always have a chef available to cook meals, a masseuse to come in and give you a relaxing massage, and so, so much more. All you have to do is ask and they will hook you up.
With each visit to the cottage, it’s more and more difficult to leave…you just want to stay…just one more day!!!
Thank you, Jan & Brent for warmly opening your home to us and allowing the continued delightful and magnificent experience of this Gem.
My husband and I stayed at this lovely vineyard cottage with friends for a long weekend. Our friends had stayed here the past several years and we visited last year and were so excited to finally get to stay. 5 stars are not enough for this cottage. The owners (Jan and Brent) are lovely and friendly and so very helpful. The cottage is extremely clean (immaculate) and very tastefully appointed down to every last detail. The views from the cottage are amazing with the vines literally in your front, back and side yard. The cottage is warm and comforting and the bed in the master is extremely comfortable (we didn't try the 2nd bedroom). There are games, books, comfy places to relax and yet the cottage is so close to everything that Healdsburg and Sonoma has to offer. We have stayed at other rented houses and also at several hotels in Healdsburg and this was hands down the very best experience that we have had. Thank you Jan and Brent for the lovely vacation!! We can't wait to come back!!!
My husband and I enjoy traveling with our friends and have spent many great vacations in wine country staying in both B&Bs and rented houses, but none even begin to compare to our wonderful stay at Jan and Brent’s lovely home.
The appeal of the setting can’t be overstated. As you drive up the gated, private road you know you are entering a special place. Healdsburg Vineyard Cottage is nestled among mature trees and looks out on neat rows of grapevines marching up the hill and the gorgeous mountains beyond. The photos really can only hint at the beauty and serenity of the spot. We visited some great vineyards and tasted lots of fabulous wines, but our favorite part of every day was returning to the cottage! What a joy it was to sit on the porch with a glass of wine and watch hummingbirds fly in the garden and the sun set over the vineyard.
Jan and Brent have anticipated their guests every need. Their immaculately kept home is equipped with everything you might possibly want. A handsome picnic basket for your use, games to play, books to read, a wine chiller and a comfy throw for chilly nights. And they have decorated with quality and style. Special touches abound from whimsical garden ornaments to handmade quilted drink coasters. And oh, the luxurious towels and linens and the comfortable furniture both indoors and out! There are so many wonderful little touches that I won’t talk about so you that can enjoy the thrill of discovering them when you visit.
The four of us agreed that we hated to leave Healdsburg Vineyard Cottage and look forward to staying there on our next trip to Sonoma.
I am not sure how even begin to explain how wonderful this home is in the beautiful Sonoma wine country close to the great little town of Healdsburg. The experience was perfect: from initial contact with Jan requesting information about availability, the easy booking process, the suggestions of things to do/wineries to visit/tastings to schedule that Jan was kind enough to email. It made the anticipation of what we knew was going to be a great trip that much better. We have traveled often to Sonoma and Napa valleys and stayed in some lovely places. This was the best by far. Some of the many wonderful highlights: the beautiful setting up on a hill overlooking vineyards and the Mayacama Mountains, the gorgeous nice sized home (perfect for the four of us who stayed), the porches to just hang out on, the comfy living room furniture, the comfortable beds with soft sheets, great bathrooms (each bedroom has one) with nice fluffy towels and cozy robes, the washer and dryer (a definite plus!), the overall cleanliness of the entire property. It was simply perfection. Seemingly no detail overlooked. Even a bottle of wine made with grapes that Jan and her husband grow on the property. We were so sad to have to leave and wished we could have booked it for the entire time we were in Sonoma valley. It's perfect for 4 people.
Restaurants we would recommend: Scopa, Baci, Bravas, Dry Creek Road General Store, Jimtown Store, Willi's Seafood And Raw Bar, Cousteau Bakery. Wineries: (so many to chose!): Williamson, Benovia, J Rickards, Silver Oak Alexander Valley, BobDog, Calluna, Iron Horse, Tratorre Farms.
In closing, Jan and Brent are doing it right. Staying at this house was a joy I would love to repeat more than once. I would go back in an instant. Cheers!
We spent a long weekend at the Healdsburg Vineyard Cottage and it was amazing. The cottage was in perfect condition. Brent helped us get the bikes ready and the bike tour of Healdsburg was amazing. We highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing perfect getaway.
Three friends and I rented this house for the weekend; we were in town for a wedding. The house itself was beautiful and well appointed, with two big bedrooms and two full baths, and there were a few other things that really made it stand out. First was how nice and helpful both Jan and Brent were with information prior to our arrival and then stopping in to say hi and give us a few tips and suggestions about restaurants, wineries and biking routes. Which brings me to number two, the bikes. There are four very nice bikes that were perfect for cruising along W. Dry Creek Rd, which is good for cycling, i.e. very few cars and they were considerate. We rode about 10 miles to the end of W. Dry Creek where Bella Winery is - awesome ride - and about halfway back we crossed Lambert Bridge to the grocery store for lunch, which I recommend. There are at least a dozen wineries along the rode as well, so no lack of places to stop for a tasting. But back to the house...great location as well, only about 5 minute drive to downtown Healdsburg. We spent a fair amount of time at the house itself, too, drinking wine on the porch and enjoying the evening while looking out over the vineyards, which was a great way to relax after a tough day of wine tasting. In summary, this is a great place with everything you need for a great weekend, and then some.
