Peaceful and tranquil location. One of the cleaner well maintained homes our family has rented. There was plenty of room, enjoyed the sun and mountain views on the decks and cool nights by the wood stove. You can see that Roman & Jenny take pride in their home. Communication with home owners was quick and easy via email. We are thankful to these and other property owners who have shared their homes with us. We will definitely be back!
The pictures don't do it justice. The house was very clean and cozy. We'd absolutely stay again in the future.
We stayed at this awesome property post Christmas to New Year's this week. We were there for a ski vacation, and the house is perfectly situated - 10 minutes to Waterville Valley, and about 25 minutes to Loon (a little further for Cannon). It is a very quiet community with a rec center (2 pools, hot tub, sauna).
The house is a true log cabin, which made for a true getaway. Roman was there to greet us, and he walked us through the whole house, making sure we were comfortable. The house had everything needed (towels, extra blankets, kitchen utensils, accessories - he is even thoughtful enough to supply different types of soaps).
The community is situated on a mountain, so the roads were very steep and windy, so we were concerned at arrival (had not put the snow tires on the minivan yet), but the community was prepared, and after a 4 inch snowfall with ice, we had no problem getting down and back up to the house.
We stayed with another family (4 adults, 6 children), and had plenty of space for all. We would definitely stay here again.
We just returned from a stay at this beautiful home. We frequently use VRBO for vacations and this was by far the best experience we have had. The location is great, the home is clean and well-stocked for anything you would choose to do during your stay. They had books, games, a wide array of cookware and utensils, a generous wood pile and plenty of room for everyone (family of 5 plus one dog) to have their own space. We enjoyed the kitchen and the outdoor fire pit. The hosts were easy to contact before hand and during our stay. The home is exactly as pictured and the setting is lovely. We took day trips into Vermont, the White Mountains and Maine. The location was central for us and worked out well. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this property!
We spent a week in Roman and Jenny's house at the end of June. The house was just fantastic! It's located in a peaceful setting, easy to find with the directions we were given and very comfortable. Everything you could need for a vacation is provided and the house itself is immaculate. My sons (ages 9 and 11) loved the porch, loved making smores by the fire and really enjoyed having the space to spread out and relax. We drove up to Lincoln several times and it was only about 20 minutes total each way. We thought about renting there but were so glad we could leave the "touristy" area and come back to the cabin after a day of hiking. Thank you for such a wonderful and easy rental experience!
We spent a week here in the middle of July - 4 adults, 3 children (10, 12 and 14) and a couple of really small dogs. In summary, the experience was just about perfect in every way. When we first found the listing on Home Away, we figured the reviews had to be inflated or just made up. They’re not. The home really is as good as described by everyone so far, and the owners were just as great to work with.
The location is really convenient, just a few miles off of 93 and perfectly nested on a quiet and secluded lot in the woods. There's a small local grocer a few minutes from the home and more extensive shopping a couple of exits South, about 15 minutes away. We hiked every day on trails ranging from moderate to difficult and didn't have to drive more than 20 minutes to get to any of them. There are a couple of local restaurants not far from the small grocer, and plenty of other options in the area to dine at (the Woodstock Inn was a fun stop).
The home itself really is ideal. Very comfortable for our group, and could easily accommodate a few more without issue. The two decks provide generous outdoor living spaces. One is covered facing North, and the other faces West, just off the open living/dining area. The covered porch was a nice setting to relax and watch afternoon storms roll through. We used the open deck each morning and late evening and were often joined by humming birds as they floated around the nearby feeders. The lot is gently sloped, giving a tree house like effect when on the deck overlooking the nearby woods. The outdoor fire pit has plenty of seating and was a big hit with the kids. Plenty of wood stacked nearby made building fires a convenient task. The grounds are well manicured with hanging plants and flowers planted throughout the property.
The kitchen is well equipped with at least one (if not two) of just about everything we needed to cook for the week. The kitchen has a nice conversation bar and opens up to the dinner table and living area. This is a great layout as everyone can hang out in different sections and still be part of the same conversation. The great room is blanketed in light by a floor to ceiling wall of glass. The vaulted ceilings make the space feel enormous and with the windows open and ceiling fans on, the house stayed comfortably cool even on some of the hotter days. The sitting area of the great room has oversized leather furniture and a couple of side chairs. Plenty of room for everyon
