Overview

St Petersburg Area House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Getaway to one of the last beach side homes in the resort district and enjoy a magical, sun-filled Florida vacation!

Our home -- with it's fabulous location, modern conveniences and rustic charm -- is unmatched from others on St Pete Beach. We are walking distance to hotels, restaurants and shopping, while nestled less than 30-seconds from the sand and surf.

Even the locals are charmed when they walk into the home. Built on Jan. 12, 1933 with tongue-in-groove wood floors, walls and ceilings, the home captures the nostalgia of beach living with all the upgrades of today's comforts.

Come to our home and experience 7 miles of public beach to explore. Hunt for sea shells, enjoy a leisurely swim, fish if you feel like it. Walk out the front door and see brilliant sunrises to your left, spectacular sunsets to your right. You’ll find the perfect combination of sand, sea and sky at this destination.

We've also found our home to be perfect for parents and family members of a wedding party that want a home base to help coordinate and relax during the celebrations. We even had folks come back to stay for their anniversary!

This two-story beach house includes 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths with a large deck and gas grill for cookouts under the night sky. The master bedroom on the second floor has a private balcony for two and the back garden has a second patio area suitable for sunbathing or just relaxing. And talk to us if you are interested in pool access.

For guests that may need to work while they're away, we have an in-home office that includes a phone/printer/scanner/copier and high speed Wi-Fi. Please contact us if you need more information as we offer additional work-from-home capabilities.

Easy stroll to Dolphin Village for groceries or to drop in to a CVS drugstore. Across the street is a popular pancake house, a well-known dinner spot and a liquor store .

The beach also has free transportation services and if you want to explore, a trolley stop is few steps from our front door to take you wherever you want to go.

The home has been in our family for 50 years and holds a special place in our hearts. We still live on the beach and make sure this charmer is kept in excellent condition for our guests' enjoyment.

Why The Owner chose St Petersburg Area

It's one-of-a-kind home! It offers a quiet retreat moments from a pristine beach and nestled among all the great attractions - giving you the best of both worlds.

It is a true beach home with all the comforts of today's living. Spend your day with sand in your toes or read a book on the back deck after a morning swim. In the evening, take a stroll to the local restaurant for dinner and ice cream. But don't miss the sunset! They are spectacular and no one is the same!

What makes this house unique

This is a well-cared for and loved home that has been in our family for more than 50-years. We want you to have that home away from home feeling when you stay here.

We are close to everything so enjoy walking everywhere you need to go. And given our great location, we have many families stay with us as a retreat from all the wedding activity at the hotel; it's great for those looking to relax throughout all the celebrations!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for your lovely email. We loved staying in your house and loved the area. Thanks for your kind hospitality too - particularly with ideas of places to go. We actually enjoyed the variety of weather as it got us doing a number of things that we might not have tried in continuous warm sunshine. I am sure we will be back in the future.

The location of this beach house is great. No need for a car. You are a short walk to the beach, restaurants, entertainment and groceries. The accommodations were great and it was very well maintained. The way the building is design it has two separate living room. This gives you the ability to have privacy when you wanted, whether you are a family with teenagers or two different couples enjoying the beach house together. You can not go wrong staying here.

Cozy beach cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at the beach house and as always we found it spotless and well equipped. One trip to the grocery store and you're set to enjoy the beach or discover many of the local activities. The location is ideal as the highways are very easy to connect to. One of our favorite things to do in the early morning is to walk to Pass A Grill for a coffee. It's a 45 min walk there but well worth it as this beach is pristine and shell hunting is a must along the way. The owners have provided a book that takes the guess work out of where to eat and hot spots to discover. We highly recommend Agave a Mexican restaurant only 2 mins away by car and very reasonable prices. Don't leave the beach without booking a sunset sail that leaves from the Publixs grocery store mall. Captain Dan and his crew ensure that the evening will be memorable and you can bring a bottle of wine along for the ride. When you're exhausted from all the adventures you can always head back to the beach house for a BBQ on the Webber grill and relax in the fully equiped family room and watch a movie. The owners are very accommodating, you'll want to return again every year.

Original Beach Home with charm, history and the perfect location!!!

  • 5 of 5

If steps away from the beach and the most spectacular sunsets are important to you, then this is the place you want to be! Perfect for family and friends, this home offers all of the creature comforts and is situated in a most idyllic setting for sun and surf. Within walking distance to so many great restaurants, shopping, and water related adventures, you will hardly have the need to get back into the car! We have enjoyed the property for two years and would highly recommend this beach charmer to all. We will be back next year!

A Piece of History...A Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

There are other places you can stay that are close to the beach - but not many left are a piece of history. This original beach house is one of the few left anywhere - much less St. Pete Beach. The house is immaculate with all the modern conveniences. Much time and thought has been taken to make sure you can walk in and be right at home. This is our 4th Labor Day staying at the beach house, and over the course of those years we have stayed there many weeks for one reason or another. When you are getting away, it is a piece of heaven. Quite but yet close to everything you need. This is a particularly great place to stay if you don't have a car...you don't need one. As many others have said...seconds to the beach!! Whatever you care to eat or drink, grocery and convenience are between seconds and minutes way (literally) depending on what you want or need that day. On this year's trip we had 2 unusual things happen. Into the first week, I learned that not only was I going to need to work remotely the next week, but we also needed to pick up our granddaughter and keep her for the week as well. Things couldn't have worked out more perfectly!! I got up early, took my walk and got the beach all set up for my wife and granddaughter. Then I would make myself right at home in the office get to work. The balance of the morning was spent with me working and the two of them rotating between the beach and walking to the store to pick up groceries for the day. In the afternoon we all re-convened on the beach for a relaxing balance of the day before super and sunset. It didn't feel like work, plus everyone got to have fun and get what they needed!!

New Jersey Family visiting our Son

  • 5 of 5

The home is feels actually just like that "a Home". The house had everything needed for a family of 5 to stay in. Very quant, clean and fully stocked. A very quick stroll to one of the most beautiful clean beaches. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our wonderful 1 week stay at this beach cottage. The house is very cute and unique and the location is superb. The house is a minute walk to the most beautiful beach. It also is conveniently located near restaurants, a grocery store, drugstore and shopping. All within walking distance. The restaurant Madfish that is directly across the street was very good and many other places to eat and have a drink are less than a minute walk from the location.

The house itself was extremely clean and well equipped. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and really has thought of everything. The house is old and quirky, but the kitchen is modern and fully equipped with nice appliances and just about anything you could need. The owner also had made a really useful list of all of the restaurants, shopping, and things to do in the area that was really helpful. The house had beach chairs and sand toys, ample linens and beach towels, and even a yoga mat and a stroller.

We were traveling with three small children under 5 and the owner recommended a company called Baby's Away to rent a crib and highchair from and they were also fantastic.

One caveat for those traveling with small children or with any mobility issues is that the house is historic and due to its age and additions over the years there are steps in odd places throughout the home, and the main stairs are really narrow and steep. We had one crash early in our stay and then the kids seemed to learn the lay of the land and were more careful. There are also a lot of lovely knick-knacks throughout the house that need to be put up upon arrival if you do have small children! The home is small but very charming with a deck and grill in the backyard.

The owner is a pleasure to work with and this is her family home which she has lovingly maintained and it shows. Being able to go down to the beach and then pop back to the house for naps or lunch was wonderful. We also loved being able to walk down to the beach easily to watch the sunset before heading out for dinner most nights. We would definitely stay here again when we get back to this beautiful area.
