My wife Carletta was born and raised in Fredericksburg. Her relatives were among the early settlers and were land and business owners from that time on. I was born in San Antonio, Tx. My ancestors were with the founders of Blanco, Tx. Carletta and I are proud of our Texas roots and our friendly Texas attitude.
Pat Smith purchased this cabin in 2010
Carletta and I inheirited the property on Town Creek. Being a builder I thought it was the perfect spot for a unique gueat house.
Two blocks from Main St. with lots of shopping, resturants, and wine tasteing. Close to 18 hole golf course, tennis, hiking and rock climbing, Airport that can handle up to small jets. Great sighting and wildlife. fourty five min. from Ssn Antonio and one hour to Austin.
Hello Pat & Carletta, 1st let me give great thanks to my friends for booking us here for an amazing weekend.
2nd Your Fire Fly & Dragon Fly cottages are awesome ! 5 STARS for design, quality, accommodations, comfort, and location to Main St. The creek is a super bonus.
I build investment townhomes on Padre Island and Port Aransas. I know quality and yours is top notch.
We stayed in this house recently during our visit to Fredericksburg and loved it. The inside is very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. We sat on the back porch in the evening and watched the deer and squirrels near the creek. This house is within walking distance to Main Street. The owner, Pat, is very accommodating. We will definitely return here.
We decided to stay in Fredericksburg as a hub for our day trips. This cottage caught our interest since it was walking distance to downtown and the reviews were good. Pat assured us that the pictures don't do this place justice. And was he ever right. This house is beautiful. The decor and Carlotta's art are fantastic and the bed is very comfortable. This is the kind of place we were hoping to find.
We really enjoyed the back porch and creek. A couple of evenings we just sat on the porch, listened to music, and sipped wine. It's a serene setting. Pat and Carlotta have done a wonderful job with this place. We'll be back.
This is a beautiful cabin in a quiet location yet still walking distance to downtown - a combination that is becoming hard to find in Fredericksburg. Firefly has become our go-to spot over the past few years during our bicycling vacations in hill country. It is a nice amount of space for a couple. Furnishings are very high quality and the bed is very comfortable. It is obvious that Pat and Carlotta care about their properties and their guests as every detail is covered. Love the jetted tub and the creek out back! We couldn't ask for a better place to rest after a hard day of bicycling! Planning on it again in 2016.
My wife and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary in Fredericksburg and stayed at Firefly. It was a terrific place: quiet, close to Main Street, and clean. I would recommend staying at this cottage for a visit to this wonderful city. Pat, the owner, is great to work with - made it so easy. We will be back to enjoy another few days hopefully soon.
Firefly is a lovely, a thoughtfully designed and built cottage. We wanted to be within walking distance of town - it was perfect. So many quality, artistic touches. The size is perfect for two. It overlooks a small meadow and stream at the back, with comfortable seating for your morning cup of coffee or evening wine. The cottage is even prettier in person than in the photos. We found the owner, Pat, kind and helpful. We plan on making another trip, and staying at the Fire Fly will be part of our plan. Highly recommend this delightful sanctuary!
My husband and I stayed at Fire Fly last weekend. I had been admiring this cottage and the one next door (Dragon Fly) during several previous trips to Fredericksburg but didn't know who owned them or how to go about renting them. Then I stumbled upon them on VRBO and booked immediately. They are really awesome and very comfortable. We had a fire both nights and also enjoyed sitting on the porches. Pat is very nice and is a builder in the area so he put his heart into this cottage. The only reason I am giving it 4-stars is we couldn't figure out the TV or the WiFi but I mentioned it to Pat and I am sure he will get that settled for future renters. Very close to Main street but a block or so off so as to not be too busy.
