A true example of charm and southern hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

My maid of honor and I stayed here over the first weekend of December for just a small girls getaway and we were awed at the incredible hospitality from Loreen and Brett! I have been looking at wedding venues for the past few months and this is definitely the place that fits all of my expectations! We had wanted to stay somewhere outside of Dallas but not far enough that we felt too distanced from the city. The location is perfect! Brett was there to answer any of our questions and was very attentive and paid attention to detail so well! We were greeted with a bottle of wine and cupcakes as well as a tea tray (I prefer tea over coffee and I had mentioned that in our previous conversation). The house is GORGEOUS and Is a wonderful place to relax and unwind at whether it's 2 people or 10 people. I am so excited to book with the Villas again, and hopefully for my wedding!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We live in Ovilla. Our air conditioner crashed in July. Installation of the new unit couldn't be completed in one day because the unit is located in the attic; by 11:00 am it was too hot for the guys to safely work in the attic. There was no way we were able to stay the night in our house. Fortunately for us, there was room at the Villa. We packed our toothbrushes and moved in for the night. It's location is good for walking, e.g., not busy with car traffic, and we took advantage of that. Later picked up a pizza at a local Italian restaurant, as well as a bottle of wine. Sat outside, with the cool breeze, ate pizza and sipped wine. Finally, settled into bed with air conditioning and slept wonderfully! It was quiet and peaceful, which was what we needed. And did I mention it has air conditioning? :-)

nice but need renovations

  • 3 of 5

Had a nice stay. Owner was kind of strict as if there was going to be wild parties going on because it was my birthday. Did not want us to bbq and said there was no grill but there was one by the garbage cans. Company over 10 people was called an event. Did not feel at home because of that fact. When company comes to my house whether it is 1 or 20 I never heard it being called an event unless you planned it. I informed her that no events was planned but I do have family and friends that potentially would visit. Home needs updating regarding finishing the claw bathtub which painted job was peeling. Need shower in master bedroom. Home need more cleaning due to dusty areas. Need better organization and updated utensils and cookware. Need better garbage cans to keep critters out. Home had 3 garbage cans and only one had top which did not fit the best. Last but not least the cushions on the outdoor funiture needed replacing.

Perfect Size and Location

  • 5 of 5

This property is well maintained and lovingly decorated by its very obliging owner. My son and I spent 10 days here over the Christmas holiday and it turned out to be perfect for us. We were close enough to family members who live in Ovilla to make daily trips back and forth while enjoying our own space for sleeping and cooking. The beds are comfortable and the country setting is relaxing with a small town friendly atmosphere. Nine tornadoes struck the Dallas area on December 26th. We were visiting family in Frisco at the time but the owner called us to be sure we were OK. This beautiful Victorian home was spared any damage and I'm sure we will return again some day to enjoy its many charms.

Amazing!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here while we were 'home' for Christmas and it was THE most comfortable and relaxing stay. The house is absolutely wonderful and had plenty of room for my family of 5. The grounds were fantastic and we even had a fire pit which we used almost every night. The beds were so comfortable and the area was very quiet. We really enjoyed the sitting room off of the master suite. There is plenty of seating and cozy places to relax around the house both upstairs and down. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook as well as things to help with clean up. It is about a 25 min drive to Dallas/Arlington but very little traffic on the roads going up there and it is very easy to get around. Totally worth the drive to stay in this quaint and quiet setting. This would be a wonderful place for a wedding with beautiful grounds and little decorative things everywhere you look: fountains, arbors, benches and statues. The owner, Loreen, was the best owner I have ever worked with. She made the trip even better! Anything we needed or had questions about she was right there. I highly recommend staying in this house. You will not be disappointed! We will definitely be back!
